For hopkins I am pretty sure you need a 3.8 but with a 2000 SAT score

@flabbydog4 Both of my highschool varsity coaches played defense at Johns Hopkins for the 2007 championship team. They said when they were recruited that the recruiter said just take the SAT and don't worry about the score. They also wanted the players to have at least a 3.2 but it went on a case by case basis. If you are really good then they shrug it aside.

UVA you need a 3.5 GPA and duke you need a 3.4 to qualify I don't know about hopkins. but pretty much a 3.6 GPA

Most players don't play MLL or NLL after they leave college. even if they do everyone has a real job too. So the quality of the school usually influences their college choice greatly and probably accounts for the fact that a great player would rather play at W&L than Ohio State. This is also why lacrosse has not expanded strongly into a lot of traditional D1 powerhouses for other sports (football, basketball). they usually are not as strong schools

so after watching all these games it seems like skill level wise salisbury is no different from hopkins, duke , hofstra , etc. so why do so many athletes want to go to D1 schools instead? someone told me because D3 schools have no money to hand out scholarships is that true?

D1 and D3 are different only when you get to the top 5 in D1. D2 is usually only good in the top 1or 2. Still they might have trouble against any average D3 team.

hopkins duke uva etc are all amazing schools. uva you pretty much need a 4.0 to get in hopkins is the same. the kids at salisbury are mainly guys that cant get into these schools but are still beast at lax. im not saying they are dumb, but those schools are extremely difficult to get into

they arent allowed to hand out athletic scholarships. although they still do hand them out, they go under "academic" scholarships which is what you will see for a good athlete at the DIII level
