OKC has plenty of hotel space to handle the BIG XII men's and women's basketball tournaments at the same time. 16 teams, coaches, staffs, officals, fans, family, media for a week with no problem. I can't imagine that the NBA all star game would require much more. Seattle could never pull that off, because it took two quality arenas and Seattle doesn't even have one. Okc has the 14,000 seat Cox convention Center directly accross the street from the 19,000+ seat Ford Center.

Exactly, Seattle supported the team for 41 years and David Stern, Clay Bennet and the rest of the politicians let a huge part of the area's history go without a fight. This garbage about Seattle not making an effort to keep the team is just that, Garbage. The city of Seattle has dozens of business people like Steve Balmer and Paul Allen that would have loved to buy the team and build a new arena. Bottom line is Clay and David didn't want that to happen because of the hornets success in OKC.

OKC has plenty of hotel space to handle the BIG XII men's and women's basketball tournaments at the same time. 16 teams, coaches, staffs, officals, fans, family, media for a week with no problem. I can't imagine that the NBA all star game would require much more. Seattle could never pull that off, because it took two quality arenas and Seattle doesn't even have one. Okc has the 14,000 seat Cox convention Center directly accross the street from the 19,000+ seat Ford Center.

The sad reality is that the city of Seattle did all it could to cooperate with that lowlife lying piece of scum. A local Indian tribe offered to donate 20+ acres of land for a new arena. A group of businessmen made an offer to buy the Sonics back from Jughead AND pay for half of a Key Arena renovation. Both offers were rejected. Much like you by every female you've ever known.
