... the Monitor or the Mistress of Novices, but not the role she might have done! Why?!!} Still not being a real contralto, Chiuri does good on this character; I love this opera and this scene over all: true contralto parts are so rare to seen on opera, and this is one of the best!
does a good version of the role [She had some facilities as she's a dramatic/lower mezzo, or a mezzocontralto perhaps, yet not an absolute dark, dramatic and deep contralto as the role on the best {I wonder why didn't Ewa Podles hadn't tried more with this role which suits perfectly for her, than others; somewhere I know there's a recording of Suor Angelica with Podles in the cast, yet she doesn't sing the Princess as she should but rather a bit higher smaller role of the play, the Abess, ...
I think Ana Maria Chiuri does a wonderful preformance as the 'Zia Principessa', since she's not the accurate choice for this role [the character's score demands a CONTRALTO voice NOT a MEZZO], yet she does her best to acheive it quite nicely [there are perhaps some fails, but are pretty little and understandable for the challenge to cover another voice type non usual from her own], and of course she acts wonderfully!!! This performance is one of the best I ever seen of the scene, and Chiuri ...

The mezzo is hugely flat. The orchestra is too loud and the tempi are killing the music

I agree with DrGarri. The mezzo sounds like a tenor. Personally, I find the voice super wobbly. But it's a big voice.

@KrisKNL2705 . It's super low and very challenging range-wise. The tessitura stays very low though.
