They reached a settlement, WB will pay a shitload to Fox in fees and a percentage of the box office sales, but Fox will take no part in the release nor the distribution of the film.
I think if they didn't reach the settlement, and if Fox did have win the rights to intervene, they probably would have edited the movie to make it rated pg-13 and market it as just another old comic book movie so that it would reach a wider audience.

Hey, not bad. I'm not sure how well the movie will do compared to the novel, but it's neat to see someone do a trailer on their own initiative.
