I think if they didn't reach the settlement, and if Fox did have win the rights to intervene, they probably would have edited the movie to make it rated pg-13 and market it as just another old comic book movie so that it would reach a wider audience.

Alan moore is clearly one of the best writers of the 20th century. after reading watchmen, I have been able to look at the world in a new perspective. he has captured my attention with his dynamic, thoughtful take on the world and reality.
the movie, however, was a bad idea. the psycological aspect of the comic is what made it great. a 2-hour movie cannot fit every nuance of the 300 page book.
To be honest, no disrespect to the people that have been waiting for the movie, but I might not even go see it. The graphic novel was good enough for me - I already have my own picture of the characters and the world they inhabited. The movie might be interesting, but there's no way they can get every nuance in the book into the movie.
well, for one moore is totally against having his name attached to the movie, so nice to credit him but he probably doesn't want that.
interesting idea with the longer pauses between cuts, i agree that its format isn't really trailer-like but you did a great job, and awesome of you to put this out there for all us wathcmen lovers!
Well, I think I can trust the director. He says that he will be totally, or even completely, or at least most partially, loyal to the story. I want an adaptation like the one of Sin City. It was almost perfect. Yeah... I'll wait. And of course, I will watch it hehe

Ok, now about the actual Watchmen film, I'm really looking forward to it and am confident it will be both faithful to the source material and work as a pure movie. They should stick to the basic plot for theatrical release but go crazy with the DVD and throw everything in a collector's edition for the real fans. Therefore, everyone wins.
What's worse is, once it comes out, there'll be all these ignorant people talking about it, and acting like they know EVERYTHING about it, when they haven't even read the Graphic Novel (happens everytime movies based on comics come out). Plus, the media will try to jam it down everyones throats. Probably make toys, t-shirts, collectibles, etc. The whole nine yards.
Watchmen is just too great, and it does NOT deserve that kind of treament.
I couldnt agree more. As an original fan of the 1987 graphic novel I have already waited 20 years for this film to be developed. The wait will be worth it as long as it stays true to the graphic novel format.
They should make a trailer just like this for the Teen Titans: Judas Contract story.

This isn't a fan made trailer for the upcoming movie, it's simply a video project paying homage to something the creator enjoys, in this case, Watchmen.

Alan moore is clearly one of the best writers of the 20th century. after reading watchmen, I have been able to look at the world in a new perspective. he has captured my attention with his dynamic, thoughtful take on the world and reality.
the movie, however, was a bad idea. the psycological aspect of the comic is what made it great. a 2-hour movie cannot fit every nuance of the 300 page book.

yeah, if like you they have minimal knowledge of Latin verbal declension or even basic syntax.
'specto', is a better choice of verb in this context, and you need the future tense, so 'spectabit'.

To be honest, no disrespect to the people that have been waiting for the movie, but I might not even go see it. The graphic novel was good enough for me - I already have my own picture of the characters and the world they inhabited. The movie might be interesting, but there's no way they can get every nuance in the book into the movie.

interesting idea with the longer pauses between cuts, i agree that its format isn't really trailer-like but you did a great job, and awesome of you to put this out there for all us wathcmen lovers!

Well, I think I can trust the director. He says that he will be totally, or even completely, or at least most partially, loyal to the story. I want an adaptation like the one of Sin City. It was almost perfect. Yeah... I'll wait. And of course, I will watch it hehe

Cool video, though I don't think it worked very well as a trailer, especially the first few shots with the music.
Ok, now about the actual Watchmen film, I'm really looking forward to it and am confident it will be both faithful to the source material and work as a pure movie. They should stick to the basic plot for theatrical release but go crazy with the DVD and throw everything in a collector's edition for the real fans. Therefore, everyone wins.

I love Watchmen, but this'll be a travesty.
What's worse is, once it comes out, there'll be all these ignorant people talking about it, and acting like they know EVERYTHING about it, when they haven't even read the Graphic Novel (happens everytime movies based on comics come out). Plus, the media will try to jam it down everyones throats. Probably make toys, t-shirts, collectibles, etc. The whole nine yards.
Watchmen is just too great, and it does NOT deserve that kind of treament.

I couldnt agree more. As an original fan of the 1987 graphic novel I have already waited 20 years for this film to be developed. The wait will be worth it as long as it stays true to the graphic novel format.
