@purpleismyfave17 I would argue that it is much about Christmas spirit and how you feel it's important to be with your loved ones at Christmas time. The Christmas lights bring a little hope.

Besides that, the whole sound creates very much a Christmas mood for me, which basically is what Christmas songs should do, in my opinion.

If you mean Christmas meaning the birth of Jesus Christ and so on, then I agree that no, the song is not about Christmas. :)

The magic with coldplay is that you can listen every song a thousand of time and still love them, and it's gonna be the same thing with Christmas Lights !
