  • "Everybody knows the Check Game..... when I'm playing it!" Nice little nod to Bob who always got contestants who had no idea how to play it.

  • Google "chocolate mill" and they are $4 to $24. Rip off.

  • 35 dollars for a chocolate grinder???? IT BETTER BE GOLDEN CHOCOLATE!

  • 300-609-4621

  • Another example that 20-30-40 $ strategy is the best at this game...

  • they use that mill in a different episode

  • This game used to scare the shit out of me when I was little. I don't know why though.

  • Wow. The Cliffhangers crashing sound never gets old.

  • What the hell is a chocolate mill?

  • @TheConciseStatement : Yeah, I agree. I had no idea of what a chocolate mill was. Whatever the case..... $10 for it???

  • A wireless router???

  • $35.00 for a pepper mill that grinds chocolate? Outrageous. No wonder our economy is in such bad shape.

  • @StaticJolts Really, I was shocked. For that lil POS chocolate grinder I guessed 5 bucks. 35 for it really, that's just ridiculous!

I guess the other two right >< 20 and 50.

  • You just hurt Yodely Guy. ROTFL.

  • interesrting posting, as there imo are two of the easiest games to win on tpir..however, i've watched since 1984, where they havenot, and have patented strategies for both of these games...

  • On the Check Game thingy..yeah, had this been under the current rules, THEN he would've won.

  • He could sell that voided check for a few G's on E-Bay

  • You would thikn those people watch this show, right? So then you'd know what strategy too use for each game.

You'd even notice the same items returning, so you can guess the price easily give or take $5

  • I first thought he won the Check game, but then I realized it was before the range was brought up to $7000-8000

  • omg....that was pothetic

  • Still can't outdo the person who guessed $800 in this game on one of the prizes. It was the one where Bob says "just go over the cliff".

  • i miss bob!

  • The contestants of cliffhangers are frequently devoid of intelligence as they usually miss the pattern of $20, $35, $50 (of therefore about) every time.

  • Good thing she voided the check, now he won't be able to con anyone into thinking it's a real one

  • It's REAL, it just isn't valid...

  • She may have done terrible on this game but as some of you may remember, she was the fourth double showcase winner during season 36.

  • FAIL

  • Drew: Yodely guy, please don't go over the mountain.

(Yodeling starts again, Yodely guy starts climbing)

Drew: He has a smile on his face. He has no idea. He has no idea what's about to happen to him. (Sees him too close to the end) Yodely guy, stop! Stop, Yodely guy! I can't watch! Oh, no! I can't watch!

    (CRASH!!!)

  • (I say to the contestant)

Oh! You just hurt Yodely guy!

  • Me too! And I won perfectly!

  • Another dismal playing of Cliffhangers that is aired on 01/30/09. same result.

  • NO WINS ON BOTH GAMES

  • Drew should've let her guess the price of the router to see how far would she be off.

  • I like it when they void the check in Check Game.

  • Even $2,500 on the Check Game wouldn't be enough these days. A while ago, it would've been.

  • The Check game cue music looks like someone going up a mountain.

  • This looks like the first show that aired under Drew Carey.

  • Check the video, "Price is Right Losers," and see the worst Cliffhanger player.

  • Is it just me or whenever the mountain climber falls, it always sounds like he lands on a car and crushes it? :P

  • I don't think so.

  • Yeah,,I wonder the same thing. Must be a old house over those rocks XD!

  • That cliffhanger game was NOT dismal, she lost on the second prize. Its a dismal play when someone loses on the very first prize and get it more than $25 away from the actual price.

  • What's dismal is that anyone would pay $35 for a "chocolate mill" what the hell is that anyway!?

  • I've seen those things sell for a dollar. It must be made of premium import PVC plastic.

  • PHYRE IS A HOT BABE !!

  • Whereas Bob would've at least *tried* to build up a little suspense there, Drew completely ruins it by saying "Yodely guy has no idea what's about to happen to him..." when he still has 10 steps left.

  • I think Drew Carey meant "If he keeps going" and not that the yodeler was indeed about to go over.

  • Drew says that a lot of times on this game. You're right dubs, he meant "if he keeps going"

  • Remember when family guy made fun of this?? That was awesome...

  • Drew forgot to tell the contestant they also get to keep the cash in the amount they wrote the check in.

  • I know, thats the whole point of voiding the check.

  • The yodelying is from "On the Frances Mountains"

  • Yodely Guy Game!

  • YOU HURT THE YODELY GUY!

  • I love his reaction when he sees "Check Game" coming around the turntable - "OH NO!".

Drew - "We've been using this same Magic Marker quill since the show went on the air in 1872..." Drew is priceless.

  • Why doesn't Drew make them write the check out like Bob did?

  • No, she hurt Yodelly Guy!!!

  • at least he got about 20 bucks of paper and ink

  • Why?

  • Good thing no one was on vacation with the yodeler today, like on Family Guy.

  • no its clifhanger

  • she origianally said $50 for the chocolate mill, which would have been $15 off and she would have been at the last position with one chance to win the 3rd price.

  • No, she originally said 15 dollars, listen to it again, it's pretty clear.

  • your right!

One thing that contestants should keep in mind though. If the host ever questions what amount they said... they should take the hint and re-think their bid. Drew asked her "did you say $15 or $50?" which should have tipped her off that $15 was not enough.

  • It's fairly clear: $15. Listen to the "n" sound on the end of the word (about 1:40).

  • 35 bucks for a little chocolate mill?? you gotta be kidding me!

  • If you bid $20-$30-$40 on Cliffhangers, you will almost always win.

  • BOB IS BETTER!

  • No dip Bob was better...

...but that doesn't mean Drew isn't good himself.

  • To the yodeler as he climbs his way: "Ok, you can stop here, theres no way that chocolate mill could be more than $25. Stop here! Don't listen to that lady, she doesn't know the price of a chocolate mill! STOP!" (Yodeler goes over the edge)

  • MUCH better than that vaction we took with the Price is Right yodeler indeed!

  • I would have guessed $15 for the chocolate mill

  • Poor Yodelly Guy!

  • The worse part is, she guessed $10 for both prizes!

  • Cliffhangers is one of the easier games. The prizes' prices always increase slightly ($10-$15, sometimes $20). One was even $20, $30, and $40, so it was super easy.

The Check Game has become a bit harder, as the prizes used to be around the $2500-$3000 range, so someone could put in about $2500-$3000 and win every time. Now, the prizes are $4,000+, so are they trying to have people write less money now?

Thanks for sharing some of the people who need to brush up their Price is Right skills. :)

  • If you guess $20-$30-$40 on Cliffhangers, you should almost always win.

  • Or the range of the game itself hasn't accounted for inflation and the price of prizes has gone up but the limit of the game has not which means checks written for less money are required to win.

  • At least they reveraled the price of that last small prize there. During Barker's era, they only would reveal the price of the prize the contestant lost on (not even bothering to reveal the others!).

  • Yes. These are nowhere near the worst playings. Not even in the same neighborhood

  • 2:13-2:17

Drew is tryin' his hardest not 2 laugh.

  • The absolute worst playing of cliffhangers ever was when a guy said $850 on a $23 toy guitar

  • Yea I saw that clip. He said it was two thousand I think at first, thinking it was a violin, then switched it to $850 when he was told it was a guitar.

I can understand that thinking its an actual guitar would make it cost more, but if he'd been paying attention to Rod then he would know its a TOY guitar.

Part of the key to winning these games is paying attention to the description of the prize.

  • For decades this game has attracted some amazingly bad contestants.

  • Oh please, that's not the "worst" playing. The worst you can play Cliffhangers is if Hans falls after the first prize. It has happened a couple of a times.

  • The really worst playing of "Cliffhangers" actually happened in 1997 when a player bidded about $700 dollars on the first prize.

  • Wow, that is farkin' hilarious! I need to see that!

  • Audience said "booo" to the contestant after a discussted loss. Very dumb.

  • I've seen a contestant guess a $40 food dehydrator for $90, but only because she thought it was electric.
