if you are 13 and bought yourself a mac then i applaud you but i myself have a nothing special computer that gets the job done for everyday things but when i need to edit or do anything specialized i use the iMac that is downstairs. Usually 1/2 of the programs i need are not mac compatable so i either have to run parallels or just use my computer and my computer is actually MINE (meaning personalized) and a mac just dosent have any emotion to it. Its a computer there to do its job(good and bad)
I got an apple mac because they last, I can update to the latest software regularly and when I'm done with it I can sell it at a half decent price. Some people (probably owning apple equipment) say the opposite, they say Pc's don't have emotion or aren't very creative. It is a shame allot of software, games and stuff aren't apple mac compatible but so far all I've needed has been on the mac already or I've bought it compatible for apple. If you have an imac why do you find flaws with apple?

Wow! That's quite amazing in my opinion. Also, you don't know if anything has gone wrong, as viruses and trojans don't come up saying: "Your computer has been infected". They run in the background either destroying your computer or collecting information. You can't disagree with the fact that Macs are better. You know they are!
It's not really the effort. It's the prospect of running antivirus software checking every file on your computer in the background that isn't a very nice one. I'm writing this from Boot Camp (I play games once in a while), and I'm currently not running any antivirus software, mainly I feel that I really don't need any, but for many average users an antivirus would be needed, slowing their computer down. Norton and Mcafee suites come to mind...
You should use a mac and then rethink your comment. The next version of Mac OS X will also have many speed enhancements, putting the speed difference between Windows and mac OS X behind us.

iPohone prices are not set to be reduced for a while yet, I work for O2 and believe me they are too expensive to be able to drop prices. I mean the customer pays £269 for one then ahs to go on a minimum £35 18 month contract. which seems alot. Not as much as Apple are charging O2 for one handset, which is Nearly £1,200 for each handset
to add to this, when you download itune music, you can only use with ipods and for tht registered user and with apples own dummy format. What a fucking con. its got its own lock on there too but you can get it unlocked for sure, i think thats a bit risky thou.

I recently got a mac and I have to say they are fantastic compared to pc's. I know lots of you out there will disagree (I used to think pc's were better too) but just give macs a try, they are great!

Can do that on Windows, ... Backing up automatically over a network... I could do that in DOS.
This is what I hate about Mac, marketting stuff that can already be done anyway. And make it sound like its new and innovative. When its really actually nothing new.
I think the point is that most of the time it's not quite as simple as "plug it in and it works". Take wireless for example, you could spend an age setting it up properly, but if you have an AirPort the software that it comes with sets itself up more or less, without even using a browser based interface like most routers use. It's just about making things easier and faster to do which is the real "innovation".
It's pretty simple really. An old crappy ford will get you from A to B just as effectively as a more expensive luxury BMW. But in the BMW you travel in class and style! There you have it - PC vs Mac.
Did you ever consider the fact that if you want to take photographs then you buy a digital still camera, if you want to engage in video conferencing then you dont want it lagging out because it has to reduce the resolution of it. Seriously though, which dimwit would want to try and stream a constant 2mpx video stream over the net?
It's mainly aimed at business travellers i.e thin and portable. If you were using it for those things, most of the time, you would have been better getting a MB or MBP.

Wow! That's quite amazing in my opinion. Also, you don't know if anything has gone wrong, as viruses and trojans don't come up saying: "Your computer has been infected". They run in the background either destroying your computer or collecting information. You can't disagree with the fact that Macs are better. You know they are!

Plus, I love my gaming, and hate the way Macs desktop works/looks... Probably because I've been born into a Windows world :P
However, I've finally been converted to iPods, just because of the Touch. It's brilliant, only let down is iTunes.

It's not really the effort. It's the prospect of running antivirus software checking every file on your computer in the background that isn't a very nice one. I'm writing this from Boot Camp (I play games once in a while), and I'm currently not running any antivirus software, mainly I feel that I really don't need any, but for many average users an antivirus would be needed, slowing their computer down. Norton and Mcafee suites come to mind...

one thing the ipods can do no other MP3 player is u plug your Ipod in and Itunes will auto sync Music and Video with out u doing anything at all if you set it up that way

i brought an ipod nano, two months later its still workin and that but i relized wah an idiot i am for buying it, u can get mp4`s that have way bigger screens and hold up more memo than the ipod for half the price.ipod are more of a fashion item or a craze than why its actually there for.

iPohone prices are not set to be reduced for a while yet, I work for O2 and believe me they are too expensive to be able to drop prices. I mean the customer pays £269 for one then ahs to go on a minimum £35 18 month contract. which seems alot. Not as much as Apple are charging O2 for one handset, which is Nearly £1,200 for each handset

to add to this, when you download itune music, you can only use with ipods and for tht registered user and with apples own dummy format. What a fucking con. its got its own lock on there too but you can get it unlocked for sure, i think thats a bit risky thou.

apple products i believe are to put it into one word crap! i am now on my 5th ipod, thanks for the 1 year warrenty cause they keep breaking down after the first 5 to 9 months not only that i also bought an imac which when delivered wouldnt not connect with the internet and for 5 days i phoned the people at apple and they would not send anyone out in my opinion i would stay clear of apple products

Can do that on Windows, ... Backing up automatically over a network... I could do that in DOS.
This is what I hate about Mac, marketting stuff that can already be done anyway. And make it sound like its new and innovative. When its really actually nothing new.

I think the point is that most of the time it's not quite as simple as "plug it in and it works". Take wireless for example, you could spend an age setting it up properly, but if you have an AirPort the software that it comes with sets itself up more or less, without even using a browser based interface like most routers use. It's just about making things easier and faster to do which is the real "innovation".

It's mainly aimed at business travellers i.e thin and portable. If you were using it for those things, most of the time, you would have been better getting a MB or MBP.
