I was jamming to this cassette tape back in 1980 when I was 16 yrs old in my '76 Camaro cruising up and down the highway on Friday nights. Which was kind of unique down here in the south where Hank Williams Jr. and Charlie Daniels was popular back then.
The car stereo system was Blaupunkt cassette player, Blaupunkt 60w/ch power booster.equalizer, Kricket speakers. A baddass system.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
The thing is, first and foremost I love The Dude album. I have it on vinyl and 8 track. Secondly, Patti is one of my vocal shero's. If this single was dropped TODAY it would be a hit. It's over 30 years old and hasn't been dated yet.
My Piano / Singing teacher when I was four had a sax playin' husband and a sax playin' son, Thank God. Their influences have been with me ever since. Both Quincy Jones & Patti Austin have been Artists that I will forever admire. I keep listening because I am forever Amazed by the sounds they make that captivate me and take me to a place I cannot find here on Earth. 'If I Ever Lose This Heaven' . Thank You to such Brilliance .

Ohhhh...I remember this one! Haven't heard from Patti in a long time. I loved her songs from the late 70s and early 80s. Wow, singers and musicians had some tough competition in those days.
@Tonedef67 MJ's solo debut album was Got To Be There in 1971!! Followed by Ben in 1972, Music & Me in '73....... Off The Wall was his Epic label debut at best.
'Off The Wall' Wasn't MJ's debut, obviously. Not even his solo debut. It WAS his solo debut on Epic Records/Sony, where The Jacksons has already had a home for awhile though. : ) Patti is amazingly creative, always. I love the funky yet CHILL aspect of this song. My dad had 'The Dude' album when I first met him as adult (I was 18)! QJones connects generations! : )
She dueted wonderfully with another of Quincy' Jones's singers, the wonderful James Ingram (Ya mo be there) on How do you keep the music playing and Baby come to me
Gabrisan, Stevie Wonder DID write this song with Stephanie Andrews. Read the album credits. It's got his stamp all over it even down to the CS80 licks he plays on the track.
