I have 2010 Mazda 3 and that f***ing tv is coming home. If that means a passenger isn't. Sorry about your luck passenger, you happen to pick a day that I had a impulsive buy. Guess I need your seat now. As I was pulling away, i'll txt the passenger and tell them, let me set up this tv and eat, I'll give you call later :-)
Get the f*** out. Im sure that TV could have fit... also why was the TV the last thing he put in. That just doesn't make sense. You'd never put the big squarebox last..
In the Focus and the forte you could fit the Tv in if you weren't challenged like tis guy at packing. Years ago I was a bag boy at a grocery store and those trunks could eat all that stuff with room for desert
I like how this douchebag was complaining how the Focus didn't have a big enough trunk compared to the Kia. The car had a fucking subwoofer. For a fair comparison use a model without one. This is exactly how good cars get misrepresented by these independant companies.
Echoing many people's comments on this board, the TV should have been loaded first.
I would have done one of two things:
1) Put the TV on the bottom, lengthwise if possible and to one side. Stack the soft items (napkins, toilet paper, even the box of chips, anything you know won't damage the TV etc.) on top and put the other items on the open side. Place the heaviest items (pack of bottled water, box of Lean Pockets) next to the TV to keep it from shifting side to side
2) If there are enough heavy items (bottled water, etc.), stack them as evenly as possible on the bottom. Then put the TV on top of those items, if they can hold the TV's weight without being crushed. Then stack the soft and light items on top or on the side of the TV.
Voila. You can fit everything featured on this shopping trip into the trunk. If they planned to buy these items, they should plan to make them fit into the car. You're not going to leave anything in the parking lot, are you?
4. the point of the series is that American families are downsizing and there might be a child in a safety seat in the back. That's also why we didn't fold the seats down.
5. The hinges didn't come into play during the test. If they had we would've said something.
6. The overall point is, this illustrates just how useful even a compact car is these days and you're not giving up that much space to a midsize no matter which one you get.
1. Yeah, I should've untucked that shirt a bit. It's going in the trash. I"m also down 10 pounds so give me a break.
2. I didn't put the TV in first because most people who buy a flat screen TV don't want to throw other things on top of it etc.
3. Do you really spend more than five minutes in the parking lot loading your trunk of food? Or do you race to get it home as fast as you can? I'm not packing for a cross country trip here.
Yeah! If you packed the trunk correctly on the Kia, it would have all fit. You should put the big items in first... A.K.A. The TV. Very poor demonstration. 1 Star rating from me!
What this guy didn't comment on was the big loop hinges on the Corolla. When the trunk is closed those would crush anything that is under them. I speak from experience with a Chevy Cavalier which has a 13.2 cu. ft trunk.
Terrible vid. He did not take into account the trunk hinge difference on each car. Some have the hinge that goes into the trunk and takes up space, some had the piston hinge that folded into the hinge space and didn't take up trunk space.
Well... What can i say? I own a '00 BMW E39 M5. I average 7.5 mpg. The reliability is pretty good, but not as good as Corolla i think. BUT! How can you compare the joy i get when i put my foot down with pennies you save driving your boxes on wheels? It is freaking unbelievable, i'll never get it...
Most people are fine driving the home appliance that is the Corolla. They don't know any better!!! If they did, they would get the Mazda3. I would, big Chevron claymation grin and all. It just has the biggest fun factor to it.
Yeah i agree. I dont think people who go to costco expect that they can fit much in there. It comes with the cheap price. But having a lot of trunk space is a plus and you could always fit fold the back seats down. If i were to choose, i would get the Mazda 3, just looks better and the fun factor with the car was rated above the Civic and Corolla.
the tv could fit in all cars comfortably except in the Mazda 3. it could easily fit in the Corolla and focus and for sure the Forte. You just need to put it in such a way. I think he needed to try some other ideas, it fits.
ww. this video actually made me mad. the t.v. didn't fit in any of the cars because he tried to put it in last. everybody knows you put the biggest things in first, then the small ones. he doesn't know how to pack a trunk
What a stupid video why not calculate the cubic space your purchases then compare it to the space the manufactuer specs/ Why go thru the whole ordeal over and over again? It means nothing?
............this video was pointless we all shud know that all those cars cud fit all that without that tv. they should do coupes or convertibles in the same class instead instead of entry level family sedans
what if he just sucks ass at putting shit in the car. give that shit to my mom in her piece of shit escort, that women did miracles with food for a family of 6 once a week.
the ford focus is the only one i'd buy... i know mazda is owned by ford, but its japanese... and japanese cars make you look like a fag... the ford focus makes you look like a fag too, but id rather be a fag that supports his domestics, rather than a fag that doesn't
japanese cars work, screw wut it looks like! As long as I can make it to work & home, with out being FOUND ON ROAD DEAD...lol with in 3 months after my purchase:-) Been there done that, had GM, FORD, & Dodge. The only Car I ever put a 100 thousand plus miles on with out one single repair was my 2005 Toyota Matrix & still running!
badgerbuddy: I'm a "fag" and I drive a Mazda3. If you are so concerned about what you think a car makes you look like, then you definitely have some sexual insecurities to be resolved. After all, plenty of fags like me drive big trucks and SUVs, as well as macho sports cars like Mustangs and Corvettes. You definitely can't judge a book by its cover!
You know what will happen to the next generations of these 'compact' cars. The trunk and overall dimensions will get bigger, which will make them mid-sized cars back in the 80's.
do the tv first dummy
