you can listen to this song and not hear something religious, but just a song about feeling lost etc., just like you could sing and play it from a non-religious point. it can come from a place in your heart that doesn't hold god, but still holds the emotion in the song, if that makes sense.

I see how there might be a disconnect for theists watching this, but as an atheist I can listen and identify wholly with the singer---and listening to gospel (which I love regardless) I never get that chance. Someone like Tim singing a spiritual, and so beautifully...rare thing. Perfect for me.

inperfection is often what makes music great. The little fuck ups and the odd broken note... You can get technical perfection over time with enough practise but you can't learn that kind of depth or passion and you can't buy tone like that. Having said that this was my idea of perfect.
