  • oh my god i love this song!

  • where we can find the tabs? In my opinion on the Martin in mahogany the best strings are Worth Clear...I'm curious to try the worth clear FAT...

  • Bravo! You play very well :)

  • I can't see your face, but I kinda want to marry you :)

  • Roy Smeck would have been proud of that playing- lovely, if I could play like that Id never get anything else done. Thank you what a joy, wish I was your neighbour and you practised with the windows open.

  • I like the sound of the the 1920s style 2 best ; it seems "warmer" than the others. Could this be attributed to it being a 20s instrumen, the Worth Cm strings - or possibly a combination of the two?

  • It's the best version of this song I've ever heard. Love it!

  • I love the way after the first two, the rest start coming off the wall in the background.

  • I have just got an old Style 2 recently .Would you recommend me which strings suit it ,worth or aquilla? I love warm ,vintage sound.

    thank you

  • @tickyplus I think Worth CM are the best choice for old Martins. Congrats on the uke!

  • @ukulelezaza thank you so much . Can u tell me where can I buy Martin vintage in Paris?thank you

  • which strings are you usin?

  • @PhilUSAFRet Check the description.

  • What about a tutorial of this wonderfull song?

  • Could you send me tab pls? I would like to learn something of your beatiful old style

  • IMO, they all sound great but I like the first one best and the last one second. The best way to to describe the tone is harp-like and they seem to play even across all strings.

I did not think there could that much variation between ukes and I was surely wrong.

If anyone knows of better sounding soprano ukes than these Martin, I would love to hear them.

  • oh my god the second part (00:59) is SOOOO hard! :(

  • Old Roy is smiling up there...!

Smooth and lovely playing, great ukes!!!

    This made me happy.

    Sinus.

  • Hello - this is so sweet - could you send me the tab?? It would be much appreciated!

  • What ukulele is that? Yes Martin but what exactly?

  • @Flashy1392 Check the description for the styles.

  • @ukulelezaza I am very sry! I just need to click at the description :D Sry for taking your time.

  • greatttttttt! song, I love it, can i have the tab please??? I prefer your version thanks by advance

  • @alannisssss Send me a pm with your email address and I'll send you the tabs!

  • lijkt wat op de wals "Uma valsa e dois amores" van Dilermando Reis?

het Kanaal van ovidiov staat vol choro-arrangementen voor gitaar

ik stuur binnenkort een mailtje met een samenvatting van links enz

  • I came so close to getting this martin style 0 on ebay. I bid 150, i was the only bidder, for THREE days i constantly checked the item. The last 15 hours of the auction i thought i was clear so i started selling things on craigslist to pay for it. I sold 8-10 items. And would you know!!! i wake up the next morning excited to get my uke FINALLY! AND THE LAST 3 HOURS OF THE AUCTION 2 PEOPLE BIDDED LIKE CRAZY ALL THE WAY TO $250! DAMNIT!

  • @Brien182 You don't bid on the internet much, do you? People ALWAYS wait until the last minute. They want to make people think that they're, "in the clear." As you did.

  • Wow!! Beautiful!

  • This has got to be my Favorate piece of music on the ukulele. Still tryin to learn it ,Im just a rookie on the uke but Ill get it yet .

You play it so smooth and effortlessly just great.

  • for some reason, i like style 0 the best.

  • Loved it, learned it! Great first song to learn on the uke. (i'm hooked!)

  • To my untrained ear, I would say the similarity in sound between the 4 ages of the ukes are remarkably the same; but to me the Style 2 wins out with the nicest sustain. Nicely done!

  • Thanks for the nice playing and song! Gave me very much inspiration for my own ukulele playing! I liked your relaxed playing style! Maybe I should by a Martin uke!

  • so sweet

    so bautiful...

    i love ukulele...

  • Lovely playing, great tone and phrasing. Spot on!

  • Je ne me lasse pas d'écouter cette vidéo et les worth CM ont ma préférence.

  • Sweet little tune.

  • nice playing. That style 3 sounds surprisingly good. I guess there is a difference in sound between style 0, 1, 2, and 3.

  • A sublime marriage of an artist and his instrument

    Maestro! Bravo Bravo Bravo!

Yes I would like to cast my fingers on the tabs to this sweet song.

  • This is outstanding playing: incredibly fluid and expressive. The arrangement is very nice. Well done!

  • Great playing & sound, love the uke...for some reason this is remind me the theme of "The Third Man".

  • littlegreen88 look at bushman they are right around 2 hun as opposed to the martin is 2,000! and mine sounds great its not made of koa but sounds just as good tested and true by me a musician of 30 years of playing ,most quality ukes are around 6 or 7 hundred(koa hawaiiian)dont buy a cheap uke they sound like crapy toy. but if your just trying to test the waters musicians friend has a fairly useable uke for 25 bucks!

  • hey! Fantastic playing!!! I'm thinking about buying a nice new ukulele, unfortunately I don't have enough money for a Martin, what other brands would you recommend? What would be a good one for about $150? Thanks so much.

  • A nice Lanikai ukulele might suit you well. Same kind as Zach Condon uses only costs around $90.

  • hmmm yeah.

but some of the lanikais go out of tune pretty easily.

  • love!

anyone knows where i can get the score for it?

  • Someone made tabs of my version, check the comments.

  • you are a great player! awesome vid.

  • Great playing and great sounding instruments! I think I like the first and the last the most, but it's hard to tell. I'd gladly accept any one of them in case yuo feel you have to many and need to give one away...

  • Well done!

  • nice playing

  • what is the name of this song someone please tell me

  • Magic Ukulele Waltz, composed by Roy Smeck

  • He plays that beautiful song perfectly, perfectly. I'm going to learn to play it like that, and when I do, I'm never going to stop playing it, and that's the truth.

  • thats awesome man. i hope you do it.

  • Terrific playing! Wow

  • coponazo!!!

Even if I practiced for about two million of centuries I'd never get close to that

  • lanikai

  • they all sound really great!Fantastic playing.

At the risk of being a little crass - isn't that a small fortune in ukuleles you got going on there??

Regardless, youre obviously worthy of them!

  • what is a good brand name ukulele.

  • a martin like this one is great

i have one and like ti a lot

  • the second one sounded the best, and the fourth one looked the best.... to me :D

  • hey there, what do you think of Echo Hawaiian koa ukuleles, did you ever come accross one? the martins seem to go for top dollar..they are beautiful though, but i don't know if i've the patience. Again your playing is tremendous mister!!!

  • Sorry, I have never heard of Echo ukes. I'm the wrong person to ask, I'm not familiar with new ukes.

  • No worries mister Ukulelezaza, it was just a vintage Hawaiian on Ebay that looked very beautiful. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Warm greetings

  • No matter which Ukulele you play it sounds beautiful! I'll try to tab this =)

  • vist my homepage for the tabs of this song.

  • Can you tell me where I can get the arrangements of the tunes that you are playing? Thanks

  • I arrange all these tunes myself and don't write them down... can't help you... sorry...

  • beautiful playing and beautiful ukuleles. Would you be able to tell me where is the best place to get a little beauty like those? Ebay? Elderly? thank you

  • Ebay for sure. If you are a little bit patient and don't buy the first Martin you see, you could get one for a good price. As you can hear, all styles sound quite alike. You just can't go wrong with a vintage Martin! Good luck hunting.

  • Thanks very much for your advise, you're very good. Keep rockin the house!

  • Nice Work ZAZA! Roy would be proud. Keep up the great work!

  • My experience with strings would rate them in the following order (from worst to best)

    D'Addario

    Martin

    Hilo

    Mala red

Worth (not much experience with these)

    Ko'olau Gold

Aquila (best! I love the harder wound strings)

The Aquila sound great on my 1990s Martin S-O - Loud and snappy!

  • THis is great! Thanks for the comparision. I must say that the last 2 sounded exactly the same to me. Both were my favorites.

  • Just gobsmecked!

You really know how to play those beautiful ukuleles. Wonderful tune! Like others who have commented, I also prefer the Style 3 best too. Great comparison of vintage Martins. Really enjoyed this!!

    Thank you, zaza.

  • Ik heb genoten en kan niet kiezen welke ik het mooist vind klinken. Complimenten. Hein

  • Just great! :)

  • I like the style 3 the best, but I'm a sucker for the stripe down the neck. And I totally agree with FranSpain!

  • Who ever likes a style 3 is no sucker in my book! :-)

    (it's my favourite too)

  • Maestro...(wininboy has a point -you could probably get a shoebox with rubber bands to sound as nice).

  • So there you go, folks, FranSpain summarized it before I could. And 0, 1, 2, 3? It doesn't make a difference, really. They're all marvellous, especially in the hands of The Gentle Giant of the Low Lands!

(a pity that the sound quality isn't to write home about. I'll have to opt for an thorough in-person comparative study, I fear.)

  • You're very welcome for that study Wininboy. Although I must say two of these ukes will be quite familiar to you... ;-)

  • Don't rub it in!

  • You're one of the best uke players in the world!!! :-)

  • Muchas gracias!
