Homosexuals cannot change who they are, however Christians can, they can choose not to make people feel worthless. It's just a disguise for homophobia. If we are all predestined, no-one needs to care about their salvation, no-one needs to care a thing about what they do because they are predestined, and prechosen. Remember, God's desire to save, as John Gill and the Synod of Dordt put it so nicely, is election.

God's desire not to save is reprobation. If God desired the salvation of reprobates, then they would, by definition, not be reprobates--but elect. Logically, it must follow that none would perish. To explain how any could perish, the "Free Offer" proponent must teach human free-will. This then overturns Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus...

As John Owen said in his classic work "The Death of Death in the Death of Christ," which was written against Richard Baxter (who held to FOG), it is not the minister's job to tell the audience God desires their salvation. Instead, the minister is to properly distinguish and preach the Law and the Gospel.

Remember, the command to repent and believe does NOT imply the audience can, nor does it imply God wants any in the audience to repent and believe. Commands imply nothing.

We are getting into this at our church, one of the elders told me that John Gill was a hyper-calvinist b/c he did not believe in the FOG, I want to see how he defines it b/c if it is as above then I will have to take a stand against him.

Andrew Fuller was the one who charged John Gill with hyper-Calvinism.

Andrew Fuller was the one who charged Presbyterian Robert Sandeman with "sandemanianism."

Both Gill and Sandeman showed how Andrew Fuller was teaching Arminianism and justification by faith and works. Fuller rejected the teaching of all Particular Baptists before him. The heresy of Fullerism caused Particular Baptists to form the Strict Baptist churches in Britain and Primitive Baptists churches in the U.S.

Nevertheless, John Murray's view of God is what makes men think Calvinistic doctrine unimportant. It influences men to say things like "The Bible teaches Arminianism and Calvinism, so let's just love one another!"

Such a view is a denial of the understandability and authority of scripture!
