This has to be my "dream" breed of dog! With the Saluki being a close second. But, I couldn't in good conscious own one now (or for a good long while) since I haven't the time to take it to an agility/cross country course so it could be happy and healthy like yours! :) Maybe one day I will! It sounds like such an awesome experience owning and training a sight hound!
Borzoi certainly do hit hard! Mine is a monster on a rabbit. He hit one against the fence so hard it practically exploded. I don't know why the foolish critters even come inside the fence.
I feel evil for laughing as hard as I did but that slow motion head-over-heels and then the tenacious "I am bringing this thing back damn it" nearly killed me. What an adorable dog.
great animals!!! blessed with great acceleration, speed and can turn on the spot. extremely smart dogs too!! their stamina isnt as good as a saluki though, but the saluiki isnt blessed with the blistering pace though. i myself had a borzoi whippet greyhound lurcher for hunting. best animal i ever had !!!! was a lethal hunter, so fast but yet so nimble on the turn. rabbits or hares, would have taken foxes to but thats not my interest at all
is it? its great sport, probally would stop me though, would there be many rabbits in fnland? because in ireland they would be considered as pests. 4 rabbits eat the same amount of grass as 1 sheep!!!
Rabbits have more and more become a pest here as well. Especially in suburban areas there has never been so many as now. Everyday when we are walking the dogs we encounter rabbits. The girls go tottally crazy when they see one. :)
My 6 year old Black Labrador Retriever is way faster. Plus he has a huge gas tank.

Hard to judge an animal's intelligence. We humans set a standard that the animal might not be interested in.

Borzois are so beautiful. I really want one of my own, but I already have a dog (who I really adore) so my dad wont let me get one.

Nice to hear! Too bad that hunting with Sighthounds is illegal in Finland, due to the nature of the hunt (the violent kill etc.)

incroyable la puissance de ces chiens. J'ai bien aimé le freinage sur les dents 0:51/1:00. Très très très impressionnant.
