Whenever I watch a Clint Eastwood movie I think to myself, "Damn, this is how a man is supposed to be: Tough and determined." Our culture has surely changed. Everyone is so politically correct and sensitive now.

The Sheriff was right.The only way to handle Real criminals is to show them you are meaner and more ruthless than they are.Hackman did a perfect job of demonstrating the "style' that all good law enforcement people "should" follow to actually get the job done effectively.Todays soft,limp wrist, politically correct cops pay a very heavy price when incorrectly believing that they can warn and make friends with bad guys; and the politicians could care less how much they or their families suffer.

Man, Gran Torino and Dirty Harry are probably my most favorite movies from Clint Eastwood. Because the line, "Get off my lawn you ZIpperhead" is always in my head. XD

@kurtjk01 They are sometimes. Very deserving films/TV have won Oscars and Emmys. Taking Unforgiven as an example. It was and still is a critically acclaimed film and deserving winner of four Oscars including BP
