well it spooked us at first. someone from the band--i think a manager--first called our record label and demanded 5 grand or they'd sue. the BYO--our label--ignored her, so she called us next. this was '98 or so. we then sent them record reviews from 1990 in internationally distributed publications. she had a hissy fit then we never heard from them again. it definitely spooked me, though. i was worried. what a bummer, that one totally unknown band would try to extort 5 grand out of another.

these pricks sued the good pezz and made them change their name to billy talent.... and everything went down hill from there

sorry, but Billy Talent tried to sue us, and we had the name longer, so they couldn't. It's really a dumb name, nothing to fight over. it wasn't like a court battle or nothin. their lawyer called, we proved we had the name first, end of story. now, that doesn't make us pricks, does it?

I've only heard that one Billy Talent radio hit. And I was just defending us because we hear this on a lot of chatrooms and such. we're just a DIY punk band from Memphis and Lawyers and suing people has never been our thing. I'm not even sure if the Billy Talent guys knew anything about it, since it was their lawyer that contacted us. i'm sure they're good guys...
