you know what I hate most about you? the fact that your right; that was an unbecoming statement and for that I apologize. I just can't stand this stuff, it's because of gross misinterpretations of NASA's intentions that people have lost interest and faith in the space program. To see our world dwindle intellectually has been a great pain to suffer. That comment just showed me that if I'm not careful, I will suffer the same fate of arrogance that the rest of the world is.

@artfantasies But this is NASA. an organization made up of scientists for the exploration and understanding of the universe. if it had some kind of ominous agenda, it wouldn't be so poorly funded. NASA is a great organization with great opportunities for people wishing to enter into a scientific field. It's an organization meant to display the power of teamwork and we are FAR from advanced enough to destroy other celestial bodies, not to mention... what would be the point?
are they trying to keep the moon from escaping earth's orbit? I know it recedes 4cm a year, so at some point in the semi-distant future it will be too far away. Once it reaches a distance where it's gravitational force on the earth is negligible, life on earth is doomed...
They bombed the moon on the earth facing side, that means that NASA would support the lateral outbreak of the moon if the bombing would have any effect on that.
But don't worry about that, and even when 2012 would not change anything mankind will not come over the next 100 or up to 200 years I guess cause we will wreck planet earth.

one thing I know because of my career never trust institutions and official statements.
But the whole story depends more on peoples attitude or point of view. Man will wreck earth and with the same arrogance we go into space.
