Yeah, you read the tabs like this:

The left number is going to be your top (E) string and the right is your bottom (e) string. They go down in order from right to left. X means don't play that string and a number means that is the note you hold down on that string. You understand it now?

Thanks! Here is my advice for you. Don't try to learn exact strumming patterns to songs or it will make your playing sound mechanical and unnatural. Just relax and strum a song how you feel most comfortable and it will make it easier to play and probably sound better.

Hmmmm. I must be the go to guy for tabs...

Look at your guitar neck. The note that is between the first line or fret and your neck is 1. And from that one to the right they go up in number. X means you don't play that string. You know which note to hit on what string by the number, and you know what string it is by the order they are in. Read what I said to the person below to know how to figure out what string is which.

Thanks :P that helped alot lol the only chord that didnt sound right was "022300" @.@ it sounded like a dying animal lol "022000" is Em but when you add the three it sounds funny...is it wiser to substitute Em for that chord, or am I playing it wrong completely? 6th string is open, 4th and 5th strings on the second fret, and 3rd string on the third fret...thank you ever so much for taking the time to explain ^^ *hugs*
