The lower-voiced ladies could have been a bit louder, but those of us in those parts always tend to get a bit drowned out by the first sopranos. ;) It takes a lot of air to hit some of those notes, after all.
Great blending otherwise, especially toward the end. The soloist did a great job getting her part through over the rest of the performers at the close. And overall, of course.
the chorus was really outstanding. when i was in h.s. we sang the english translation of the easter hymn, 'anthem for spring'. i was hoping there was a choral video of this but alas, not to be. perhaps someone has the english version and will post it soon.

does these guys skip a part in this piece? i'm looking at a score of it and it seems like they skip a part to get to the driving chromatic part near the end (@ 3:05)
I'm afraid I don't know. What counts is that this was the performance they gave (edited from four actual performances) and I think they had a lot of fun. Thanks for your interest. :-)
Yes. The cut would be after the 1st measure of page 22 in the original score, cutting to the 1st measure of P25. It avoids some of the highest singing (up to Ab) in the 1st sop and 1st tenors.
I hope so too! Why not video it and post the result here? The performance you see here (which was part of a made-up show including all sorts of well known pieces) was made up from four performances all of which I filmed with one camera. (I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements to do all the editing). These days I'm using two cameras which gives an even better result and takes even longer to edit ;-)
I taped the last one we did and tried to post it on here because I was the mother in Amahl and the night visitors but ran into problems with my computer not having enough memory. I am sort of computer retarded. I did watch some of the other videos. The set up is very interesting.

It was a 'made-up' show which included this piece. I made the video for some of the cast. I'm glad you liked it :-)

El coro suena bien, la soprano se queda baja. Esa mentalidad que tienes para recibir críticas no es provechosa.

I love this Opera, we sang it as the final piece of our Opera Gala; it is truly a beautiful piece of music.
