  • Gotta love the sound of 180* headers. Nice car!

  • how many cylinders?

  • @jetsf001 8

  • love thoose pipes going crazy :)

  • @wez1to2 HOLY HEADERS! haha.. I love the sound on the down rev, more than the up rev.

  • 7 litres of fury!!!

  • damn, thats wide tires !

  • thats some intense piping

  • Oh its a great engine CO Mr C. Shelby.

  • this is true GT 40 or kit car?

  • you should post a video of a real gt40!

  • I wonder what it'll sound like with a merge after the collectors.

  • Nice british car but Ferrari is much nicer, eh mrlukehorvath.

Gt40 designed and built in Britian by British engineers.

  • @TheForza1000 Eric Broadley's Lola GT wasn't a successful race car when Ford bought the design - but the Lola had been designed around the Ford small-block V8 engine, which made it a natural starting point for the GT-40 program. Little remained of the Lola design except the general body shape by the time the GT-40 competed. It was the first car to have its chassis and suspension designed by computer (back at Ford's Dearborn HQ), under the guidance of Klaus Arning. Credit where due, eh?

  • this one really purrs..definitely some modifications...listen to the others on utube and you'll hear the difference

  • the only problem that i can find with the car is that its not mine

  • is that the original motor with just new hosing? (steel braided)

  • If Arnie had 4 wheels - that would be him

  • no garbage sensors or electric computers keeping that beast beating!!! all engine!!

  • can someone tell me the cubic inches of this engine?

  • i guess the 8 people who hated this either owned chevies or were jealous ferrari owners

  • @alexander1485 ive owned quite a few (and prefer) chevys myself between the domestics, however even i see this car as just pure t fu@*in bad@ss.

  • @alexander1485 even a diehard Chevy boy would appreciate this car. i suspect it's a Ferrari owner that's still upset that ford whooped their ass all through the 60s at Le Mans :D

  • @alexrex20 i am a diehard chevy guy and i do appreciate it but the people who drive them i do not

  • It has no radiator, you connect the cooling system directly to your bloodstream. The cooler you are, the better the engine runs.

    That`s how GT`s work.

  • Ford had "cast headers" on the 352 and 390 "HP" engines, from the early 60's. They are considered good performance wise, and nothing beats the sound from them. They are crazy rare now days, most have been snatched up by people doing resto's or big money hot rods.

  • I'd like a little car with my engine please!

  • beautiful

  • To me the end cans represent a pair of eyes bulging cartoonishly out of their sockets while the various pipes represent a brain. The engine is representative of a heart. So in essence the heart is connected to the brain telling me I want this car while my eyes are practically falling out of my head just looking at that engine

  • EXZAUST PIPES ARE LIKE SPAGETI

  • bella voce

  • I love the USA!

  • @doowaditti ford gt 40's were built in england mate

  • Porsche for breakfast, Ferrari for lunch!

  • I came.

  • Fake? Replica?

  • @Boscoloantonio Oh yeah so fake.

  • @Boscoloantonio obviously going to be a replica. Only a handful of real ones and all those are going to be in museums,

  • those manifolds look like spagetti

  • @VivaLaNick335 Those aren't manifolds they are headers. Exhaust manifolds are cast iron. These are tube steel.

  • @thing503 thats what i meant my bad

  • @VivaLaNick335 It's all good.

  • @thing503 Since when does it matter what material or construction method was used? They are manifolds (two of) on account that they take many inputs. "Manifold: A pipe or chamber having multiple apertures for making connections." "Header" can be found to mean the exact same thing. Which word you use is down to habit alone, and neither is incorrect in this case.

  • @identiticrisis But popular terminology would name cast exhaust pipes, manifolds and mandrel bent tubing, headers. I understand where you are coming from, but calling them exhaust manifolds would be calling them the wrong thing to most people.

  • @thing503 Oh I know about the popular usage, that's what I meant by "habit" ;)

The problem is, these "habits" differ depending on where you live...

In any case, is "tubular manifold" really that strange to say? What about "cast headers"?

I'm guessing there must be some kind of stigma with the word "manifold" where you're from? Unless the use of "header" is inherited from some sort of water plumbing arrangement, which are usually tubular.

  • @identiticrisis In the U.S. when it comes to cars, generally any exhaust scavenging that is cast metal would be called an exhaust manifold. There are actually cast headers as well but it's just not as common. Mot of the time here, when you're referring to headers you're talking about bent tubing.

  • @thing503 So "Manifold" is stock, boring road-spec, and "Header" is performance oriented? I can see how those conversations would go down: "Nah, man, I've got headers, not manifolds..." :P That sounds comical to me, but to each their own. I guess these idiosyncrasies show character. :)

  • @identiticrisis I have actually seen factory headers in a Ford parts interchange that I have and they were cast. It's just really uncommon.

  • It would sound alot better without the fart cans.

  • @Cash2112 They aren't fart cans lol. This isn't a rice burner. This isn't a race car so I'm guessing the driver doesn't want to have to put up witht the ridiculous drone that would come with racing exhaust.

  • Very beautiful car...very nice

  • thats some fancy exhaust work

  • it has dual fart cans lol

  • If it takes me 30 Years I'm saving up for a GT40 Continuation. Probably a Mk1 with the 289ci or 302ci. Hell yes. Hopefully it wont take 30 years though. Maybe 10 would be nice.

  • 180 degree headers sound so F-ing cool!

  • carbs and heads, engines now a days really suck. i miss the true V8's.

  • dumbass...

  • That's just all engine!

  • Why must I be punished so severely with such sweet ford motored sounds?????????? WHY ME??????

  • it has itbs

  • Webers, actually.

  • That thing is scary......a man with ferrari would pee in his pant !

  • Comment removed

  • @dellitedpredator1 /watch?v=IIon1Tlcq-M

  • @dellitedpredator1 You're wrong...a Ferrari would pee in this

  • @Mass7507 u have relations with ur father,mother,grandfather and animals................lol

  • @dellitedpredator1 I don't think so...

  • bitte bitte bitte, wo kriegt man sowas in der brd?

  • You do realize that Ford GTs and Ford GT40s are two complety different cars.

GTS are the GT40s of 2005

  • Yes, I knew they were different I just wanted to know if the car in this video was a kit car and is anyone making a kit car from the new GT body?

  • No I dont think so (YET) SInce its so new, people get scared to re create cars that are fairly new and still n production.

Alot of Lambo kit car makers got a cease and desist letter to stop making them.

Idk if its a kit or not, best way to find out, Send a PM to the the person who posted the vid.

  • 99.999% of GT40s are replicas, and so is this one. None of the original race cars have valve covers like that, nor headers.

    Just some information...

  • great car - great video.

    greets from ger ;)

  • it doesnt get much better than that

  • bad azz

  • god, these engines are all amazing. Simply the most unique sound out of a v8 I've heard, and by far the best. And I'm a HUGE corvette fan, so that says a lot.

The GT40 is by far my favorite 60's era car. Bar none. I would love seeing one of these on the freeway again, only saw one in my life.

  • the car revs up about as fast as a mack truck thank god for roller cams.

  • Truly one of the best sounding exhausts, I would totally breathe that in

  • lol

  • Supercharged is only the engine from the

new Ford GT.This rebuild from the 60's

had 4 double Weber IDA's,like the

    orginals race cars.

  • nothing like the sound of an ITB feed V8....simply love it!!!

  • word :D

  • thats one hell of an intricate set of headers.

  • I know this is a stupid question, but where is the radiator placed in this car?

  • Prolly in the back, somewhere out of sight. Never thought of that actually.

  • What you can see is only the oil cooler.

The Waterradiator is in the front.

  • Right at the front of the car, in its trunk, forward of the interior.

  • That isn't a stupid question... but, it's in the front

  • @crazyfvck

its in the front of the car, thats why it has a waterfall hood in the front

  • so what its just the way i type

  • Buddy....I think it's pretty clear at this point that you're a natural-fuckin'-idiot.

  • Such a sweet sound, 180 degree exhaust wereby every other cylinder from each bank feeds a common collector (2). Too bad you need so much room to do - this perfect for a mid engine car though. This nearly turns the Detroit 90 degree V baritone into a Italian tenor. Sounds best accelerating under load...

  • mah prom car =D loved it!!! better than the new Ford GT. Wish i could be in that car again =(

  • is it a real gt40 or is it a replica kit car?

  • soo sexy!

  • wow

  • some kid down the street thinkss his daddy's BMW M6 can beat my GT, funniest joke i have ever heard, his dads car is a complete stock and i bought mine off a guy who had the car decked to 800 hp

  • u have a ford gt

  • You lying-ass bitch-hoe....

  • nice 180 degree headers

  • this is foor the puts

  • BEAST BEAST BEAST.

  • 3-4000rpms? My old 289 Isky/cammed Fairlane sounds alot wilder :P

  • get those damn mufflers off of those 180's !!!!!

  • Yeah, no shit, take off the mufflers.

  • Im likeing those itbs man. Very nice touch.

  • those are weber carbs, not fuel injection Individual Throttle Bodies. The Gt-40's a;; came with them.

  • thats the puniest radiator iv ever seen

wait that is a radiator right?

  • why would the radiator be in the back? sure way to overheat an engine.

  • not a radiator

  • i was being sarcastic, i know it's not a damn radiator

  • well its hard to tell on youtube if its sarcasm or just an idiot :/

  • thats not a radiator...trans cooler or oil cooler

  • yes I know. I figured it was a trans cooler or something of the sort. I posted my comment being sarcastic to a person who thought it was a tiny radiator. appearantley sarcasim doesnt translate the way you want it in text.

  • oh im an idiot i didnt even look uop at the previous comment lol

  • Probably an oil cooler.

  • true that, bruh

  • replica or original??

  • a replica i think

  • i love the sound of those 180s

  • mmmm quad Webers

  • thats a small block ford, its gotta be. the 7.0 had a 4 barrel carb on it and besides the rocker covers look only 1/2 the size of a 427

  • by no means an expert but do tappetts want adjusting sound just a tad clicky . . .

  • Nah... mechanical tappets. Some noise is expected.

  • V6? that's a v8. count the velocity stacks as the camera pans around.

  • i beleive he was joking

  • yeah a 7.0L v8

  • I Love it! FORD = Fastest On Race Day!

  • How can no one tell the difference? Its a GT, not a GT40. The engine doesn't even look like the GT40's engine.

  • wot have u been smokin...the gt engine has a fairly large blower sitin on top of it...this one dont lol. and gt40 engines to look like that lol, depends on intake etc.

  • "wot have u been smokin" What kind of question is that? Watch this video and then tell these look alike, otherwise I'm not convinced: sOCVoTp1d_Y

  • maybe it wos a bad question, maybe ur jus plain stupid. theres no visual similarity atall. dnt say its a ford gt engine wen u clearly aint seen one. u can see theres no supercharger sittin on top of this engine.

  • Because I got engines mixed up, you feel the need to call me stupid? So I'm incorrect, but what is calling me stupid gonna do?

  • pretty clear...why wud u comment on sumfing wen ur rong. and its a big propasition to make sayin everyone is rong about it bein a gt40 engine...when its not. maybe u shud do research b4 sayin it...just an idea.

  • is **** had rittin sumin else there but wos a bit harsh

  • it took me ten minutes to read that crap

  • um new gts have a supercharged engine kinda gives it away this is not the new version lol.

  • I've already been corrected on it. I didn't believe it was the GT40 at first mainly for the engine and the down pointing exaust pipes, which I easily associate with the Ford GT.

  • ok sorry just seen your post. never seen a gt 40 engine before so I wouldnt know about that but its not to hard to tell a engine from the 60's apart from a modern engine.

  • wow I almost cum.....

  • fuckin yeah!

  • Its a 392 windsor motor, with around 530hp

  • *is

  • >youtube<com/watch?v=7BMJgWMCrcU

there are a second video of this amazing fort GT 40

    :)

  • this car is a ford GT40 from the 60s

  • is it a gt or a gt40??

  • what do you think?! it has CARBS... of course it's a GT40

  • Any more info about this GT? Sounds and looks awesome by the way.

  • I love the sound of a GT40! Makes you think though you get the quiet purring modern cars whilst this monster would deafen you!
