HEY...Where's the Browning's the Tram's..And let's not forget the best CB Radio ever made...The ...CPI 2000b with the CPI BC2000 base console.... I seen a few USA made radio's in there but most were just rice boxes ... Handmade USA works of art ...where are they...did these radio refuse to look bad ..so you had to put up the real radio's in order to show these...I understand it's like calling a Honda,Yamaha,Suzuki, a motorcycle when we all know there just bikes....Motorcycle=Harley,Victory..USA
Wonderful collection of 60ties forward CB radios. My first CB was a Mustang crystal maybe 8 ch. Bought it through Lafaette Elect store in Lewis Maine. Couple months later, traded up to the Johnson Mess so I could use it in my Dads 59 Ford. I also used my cousin's comstat 25 more than he did. That was a great rig. had ch 23 A and B plus 100 milli switch that never got used. : ) Great Collection. KOA 1465 Maine The Ford hit a tree, the CB and I survived.
WOW VERY NICE , VERY NICE THIS TAKES ME BACK IN TIME ,I WISH I COULD HAVE JUST HALF OF THAT , LOVE THE MICS , HEY LAM LOOKING FOR A +2 SO IF YOU NOW OF ONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW ,ILL BE ON 26.065 (MOBIL 1) CTOPGUN57 (A) YAHOO
I got an old Midland in the garage. It still works but I think the channel selector is drity. I have to giggle it around to get a channel. Is there away to clean it?
@rudedogii - You can go to Radio Shack and buy a can of TV Tuner spray (Catalog #: 64-4315) and open up the radio and spray the tuner while rotating the channel selector to clean the contacts on the channel selector. It not unusual for these older radios to have dirty contacts on not only the channel selector but the other controls as well... Volume, Squelch etc. This spray is safe to use to clean all of these controls.
Hey thanks! I think I'll do that and use it for my base station. I also have a Texas Ranger TR-396F in my Bronco, and I just got a Galaxy DX-959 for my pickup!
@rudedogii - I prefer Astatic Microphones like the 636L or the D104M6B... I have also heard good reports from the Turner Road King microphones as well, but I still like using amplified microphones and the Turner's are non-amplified.
...omg....just had a ball!! I did travel in time looking a your excelent beautiful collection....I had the best time of my life around CB RADIOS back in the 80s in Dominican Republic.
It's funny to watch this video, I've owned and worked on most of those radio and then some over the last 20 years. I got out of the cb radio era about 10 years ago, it just died in my area, everyone quit talking on it. Sadly cell phones and computers are the culprit....it will never come back around either, which is sad because those are some of the most fun times I had when I was younger.
Lots of radio, maybe you can get a lot of money out of it. Silver Eagle microphones are also hard to find. I wanted to get hold of one of that in the 80's 90's but moved to VHF.
love the Simba and Royce
