The M6 definitely has the legs on the Evo at higher speeds mostly due to gearing and raw HP. The Evo is about short distance sprinting and high grip cornering which makes it such a weapon on the track. I've seen it on the track many times and it can beat the M6 by 3 seconds a lap. I've also seen a few 2.3lt examples running 10 second quarter miles so don't underestimate its straight line potential.
I am sorry but i simply can not agree with you on that last statement the m6 in the1/4 mile would take the EVO and after that it would be like after burners and the m6 would just pull away with aplomb.

advantage of the bmw was the taller gear ratios, the evo topped out probably at about 270km/h when the bimmer passed it, give the evo some taller gears and more boost or build the motor and see what happens.u hav a 2.0 4banger beast makin over 900 horse !

@dom1591 u call an evo a piece of shit ? im sure this lancer is on stock internals cause its just at 500 crank not even 2 the wheels, a stock block evo with a nice turbo and internals will make over 700 to the wheels, with proper gearing would rape that bmw, look up ams tuning evos, there is one full street car 0ver 1000 hp frm a 2.0 4 banger, runs 8sec quarter miles all day in street trim n full interior.. !! its a rally ca not a drag car

there is no way to make an evo go 300mph. you cant get an evo to go 200 without spendind 50k. and if that was the case this car would have smoked this m6. bad. sorry pal. used to own one. youd have to completely customize the tranny and transfer case to do that. which is not possible. mayeb in your little world that works but not the real world.
