God I'm going friggen nuts trying to figure out where the hell I had seen that Rachel woman recently... I KNOW she is an actress... can see it in my head. Just can't remember what from. :( ANYONE see any resemblance in her???
1:37-1:42 Debbie says "bird" and Stephanie says "owl" which are the same. However the team eventually (temporary) gets away with it, but this discrempency is corrected at the next part (I believe).
I use to watchthis show all thetime. I wish that the employees at stop and Shop had this in the store. I work at stop and Shop. and won fablous stuff.
The 30 second shootout never really clicked with me. On one hand it's a pyramid rip-off & on another hand it detracts knowledge of food products & just makes the puzzle too easy when you come to it. The mystery word is good but I think could have used a different format. It doesen't appear that Zuss did it so good for her. The round robin game was as usual a 5 star concept. As for Glenn & Lisa, that's the second time I have seen a team get no additional time so good luck to them.
there was one other team i could thnk of that only got only the one minute given free on the canadian version...mostly in part to team 1 (two guys who were brothers) ran away with the game getting nearly 3 minutes...
yeah, he did and it was pretty funny, but I think he got a brainfreese of some sort and tried to think of what to say, and he wound up just staring blankly, and it just so happened that he staired at her...so funny.
In addition to Scrambled Letters, the Lifetime run usually had a Round Robin format in which the teams were given five clues about a brand name, common food, or item. If nobody buzzed in, the clues would be repeated very quickly, but very infrequently did this happen. That format was dropped in 1995.
Yep. I just wish the entire Lifetime era would be aired on GSN. That includes the episodes with the original theme, the $200 top bonus, and the monsters lurking in the supermarket aisles.
But they DID have 2 mini-sweeps each show (whether the show was a special or a regular show). That's something I also remember from the Lifetime era. And of course, Johnny Gilbert was the announcer.
Season 1 had no Mini-Sweep, and seasons 2-3 had only one Mini-Sweep per episode. Since season 4, 2 have been played per show, until the PAX era, which only has 2 in specials.
True, but the show's logo on the first 3 seasons of the Lifetime era was completely different from the ones from the later versions. (And I loved it!)
wtf in other eps, ppl say the word that begins with the letter and they didn't get DQ'D

I think Lisa was gonna say "end", not "edge". They should've given her team the 30 seconds.
TVLubber 2 years ago
It still begins with the letter 'E' so still not allowed
0ilshim0 2 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
End was NOT on the list that Lisa was given, so END would've still counted.
TVLubber 2 years ago
They do not have a list of words, they have a list of letters, which they give clues to words which begin with that letter, it can be any word :)
0ilshim0 2 years ago
No, she definitely was gonna say "edge".

The shoot-out buzzer used to be the buzzer for the first 2 seasons.
TVLubber 4 years ago
yep and the buzz in sound effect was different as well...
domirules28 2 years ago
And, I remember too, the scoreboards are yellow.
CBS93 4 years ago
In seasons 1-3, the scoreboards were red. I loved it best back then.
TVLubber 4 years ago
For season 4 only, the scoreboards were yellow. They were later blue for rest of the run.
steve01659 4 years ago
@TVLubber i agree entirely...even as a male i'll admit tuning into lifetime every weekday at 1pm for supermarket sweep...
domirules28 1 year ago
From February 1990 to August 1998, it was on Lifetime.
harriet1985 4 years ago
Yep. I just wish the entire Lifetime era would be aired on GSN. That includes the episodes with the original theme, the $200 top bonus, and the monsters lurking in the supermarket aisles.

Not to mention the 3-TV Monitor Mystery Product and the Recycling Machine ($100).
gameshowguy2000 4 years ago
The episodes of seasons 1-3 didn't have the TV Mystery Product. I'm not sure about the $100 Recycling Machine, though.
TVLubber 4 years ago

Season 1 had no Mini-Sweep, and seasons 2-3 had only one Mini-Sweep per episode. Since season 4, 2 have been played per show, until the PAX era, which only has 2 in specials.
TVLubber 4 years ago
In addition, the show's logo in the Lifetime era was blue on yellow (as opposed to white on blue and orange).

True, but the show's logo on the first 3 seasons of the Lifetime era was completely different from the ones from the later versions. (And I loved it!)

It was also on PAX in April 1999, but new shows didn't start until April 2000. New shows ran until May 2003, and reruns ran until March 2004.
