They destroyed a church and the ruins of a Roman temple to construct this former Moslem building. Like many others we would like the Roman temple to be rebuilt using some of the same Roman columns which were used to build the mosque. There is no need to rebuild St Vincent church but I think rebuilding the Roman temple is a must.

By the way try the little restaurant nearby. Excellent wine, ham, cheese and crusty bread.

When we muslims lost this masjid this khilafaht, we lost everything so began the centuries of conspiracies against the muslim world by the Western World.

How could the muslims of that time let this go? It was the divisions of the muslim world that led to this great tragedy.

I visited the mosque cordoba, I can understand the Allama iqbal's feeling. He is the lucky person to perform prayer there. I was also sad after visiting this mosque. It is now church with mosque structure. It is really sad enviroment in the mosque. Which make all the persons sad who know the background of this mosqque. I am fully agreed that Allama Iqbals explain the preaching of Islam in the form of poetry.

Brother majid, shouldn't you be proud that he was a Muslim? For your information, there was no Pakistan in the life of Iqbal (RH). Iqbal's poetry is full of compassion and sorrow about the state of the Muslims and not state of Pakistan, which didn't even exist during his life. Please come out of the gutter of nationalism.
