Anything done by Ferrante & Teicher is marvelous. I love this one, as well as the theme from Exodus and The Apartment. Go listen to all of them. Their music is a treat long gone but still appreciated.

It was introduced in the Broadway musical, West Side Story. music written by Leonard Bernstein and the lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, published in 1956.
The song was revived in 1961 on single records in versions by Ferrante and Teicher
