  • love this

  • like a mattress balances on a bottle of wine.... genious

  • CANT BELIEVE BOB DYLAN COVERED BECK

  • @WhoistheDRIZZLE10

MAKES ME FEEL LIKE IM TAKING CRAZY PILLS

  • well played, it sounds ok, not like most of the shit

  • You know, I don't mind you cheatin' on me

But I sure wish he'd take that off his head

  • I don't mind you cheating on me but I wish he would take that off his head.

  • totally flat vocal delivery

  • @kellygreen5555 Dylan helped produce this cover as part of a charitable album and it's ridiculously good. btw, the original is on youtube also.

  • Dylan asked Beck to cover this if I'm not mistaken.

  • Can you post the Dylan original? Thanks!

  • I think Eric Clapton did a pretty damn good job of covering "Knocking on Heaven's Door". This is pretty good, it isn't Dylan, it's Beck, so.....

  • White stripes could have made a better cover!

  • Like Beck..........but no one in the world can do this like Dylan himself.

  • @MsDylangirl It's so annoying to find every jackass and his jackass brother doing a Dylan cover, but one can't find the real thing on Youtube.

  • I HATE Sony!

  • it's okay. has a good sound

  • This guy says by beck.... dickhead don't you mean written by Bob Dylan

  • This is on an album compiled of songs by great, older artists, who chose one of their favourite contemporary artists to cover one of their songs. So, Bob Dylan CHOSE Beck to cover this song. And he couldn't've made a better choice. Beck is the closest artist to ever come to Bob Dylan's genius. Even though it's not very fair to compare them - not just because there's just one and only Bob Dylan, but because Beck is able to single-handedly stand (lol) on his own as a genius musician.

  • @TerryCraig23 i would not disagree although dylan would be better compared to shakespeare, but of todays musicians, yes

  • Not a bad version, good backing, but it lacks the sarcasim and wit that only Dylan can deliver and what the song is all about, I also prefer the bluesy version. But would listen to this one again, gets your foot tapping !

  • wow, this is just awesome!!, the best artist ever no doubt, he not only beats dylan, he beats every alive or death artist ever in the whole world, if elvis presley or john lennon were alive, they would be jealous about beck

  • @wasabihansen

hahahaha, you'r just plain crazy man.

  • @SavantSvant jaja, no, i mean beck's creativity is uncomparable with anything else

  • @wasabihansen

What ever man that's just like your opinion.

  • @wasabihansen lmao if your unironically believe this.

  • current fav song.

  • @MrDsmalls i like the way you let me watch you while your'e naked, thanks for leaving a ladder outside your bedrom window

    sexually yours

    Spartacus

  • One of my favorite Dylan songs.......

"Tell me how your head feels under something like that"

........like what Beck did with it.

  • class version of a class song..beck is a mutant :-)

  • I've noticed that beck has a strange fixation of my left nipple in this video.

  • Lmao!!!

  • I'm glad you can laugh at this, I can't. Why is he staring at it, I'm a bearded man for crying out loud. It drives me nuts and I can't sleep at night, unless I have pepper spray under my pillow. I pawned off all the locks at my apartment so I could make rent, now this guy can waltz right in and have his way sexually/murderously against my will. On second thought I don't think pepper spray could defeat Beck, as I'm quite certain he is half robot.

  • @braindamage53 He's thinking about crawling in there to lay eggs!

  • @Zebred2001 I don't like the way you think. No more eggs can enter my body anymore. I WON'T be pregnant again.

  • @braindamage53 OMFG!!! I think I just bruised my ribs laughing at this comment!!

  • @skippyqsb Good, laugh at those who are far below the poverty line. I have to ferment my own vomit to save money on Richard's Wild Irish Rose. That "Green Apple" wine they make tastes just like the fancy Green Apple wine you would find at any classy eating establishment too. My boy Stan, you know the guy that lives under the bridge on Oakland Ave., he loves the stuff and he's bummed out (no pun intended) that he has to drink my refried barf. He works way to hard to be drinking that crap.

  • @braindamage53 if you move around a room, he'll follow you!

  • blasphemy!

  • Wake up and smell the coffee dimwitt, DYLAN himself requested BECK to cover HIS song for this CHARITY album, that's the entire CONCEPT of the recording Einstein, perhaps next time your have the urge to flaunt your ignorance in public, you might consider keeping it to yourself

    Just a thought ....

    muchas gracias

  • well said , again .

  • Such a great song, and album War Child...The Hot Chip "Transmission" cover is awesome also!

  • The Dylan version is funnier, but I like this too. It's a little more rock'n'roll.

  • Thank you Beck for introducing me to a great song.

I heard the Bob Dylan version and loved it.

Although I still prefer this version, but that's only because of my love for Beck and his musical style, but that's not to say Bob Dylan's version isn't fantastic as well.

  • As much as I like traditional blues rock, Beck's version just seems to have more attitude and I think that's why I prefer it too

  • @ScrewLimbBizkit Beck doesn't have a musical style, that's what great about him.

  • It's no wonder such a great comment coming from such a great channel name! LMAO

  • I love the crows squawking at the "do you wanna see the sunrise? honey I know where" 0:59 I laugh everytime I hear it-- great effect

  • great cover, and for a good cause too!

  • Awesome.

  • pretty cool cover but it doesn't beat dylan

  • Actually, I'm a big Dylan fan but never particularly liked this song. This version has changed my whole opinion of the song. I love it.

  • @big919b im with ya on that one

  • @big919b no cover of his does. maybe all along the watchtower I supposse

  • best song ever!!!!

  • ....Me with my belt

    Wrapped around my head

    And you just sittin' there.......

  • eventually all of dylan's songs will be covered

  • im an open minded person, and i don't like this version , nuh uh

  • i like how he preserved the bluesy sound yet made a more modern rendition of the song. I approve

  • I agree to an extent, the only thing that I find is a sort of violation is the distortion sounding thing he did to his voice. The music sounds rowdy and raw staying true to the original but yet more modern at the same time. The voice affect takes away from the over quality. If he just stuck with an overall more raw voice sound, i would love this cover. As it is, its just decent.

  • bob would like this

  • sounds like t rex

  • great job beck, this is just great

  • beck rocks. :D i think he did a pretty good cover, cause he made it sound new and fresh. go beck!

  • Abstract images images flit accross the shadows on the lawn as the day slowly dies. As evening comes to life my mind begins to think of the past my past your past I remember a blond girl slim and lithe her smile a sunbeam of love. Where is she now?

  • Well Beck did something difficult.. took a great Dylan song and did no harm!" cool, Beck. / Thanks for sharing the song.

  • Agreed...

Most Dylan covers , i h8 with a passion , they do the songs no justice..

But this one is one of the few ones that i actualy like..

    Great

  • You should check out The Dead Weather covering Dylan's New Pony...another great Dylan cover....not to mention a number of great ones by the Grateful Dead!

  • i bought the album and saw that and i almost died of joy :D

  • boi2613 speaks in the tounges of the make believe. Have you never soared high in the sky on silken wings of gossamer whilst getting in touch with your karma? Loosen up and forget this rubbish and start listening to real music. Or can you take it?

  • really like this song , find myself wanting to fly under a bridge or fast and low.

  • DYLAN = as little better

  • Thanks Music Choice for having me hear this song! Love it

  • The 1960s ate itself. When it was done digesting, all that was left was sad, aging hippies and disco. The social movements of the 1960s did some good things, and it did some bad things. You can find good and bad people in any organization. And... food for thought here... if the left didn't push so hard in their direction, the right wouldn't push so hard in their direction. That said, no more political talk, no more goatface... just enjoy some music and keep your head on straight.

  • How in what way does that reflect feelings?

He or she may just be generally complimenting the song.

Such a snob you could be classed as.

  • wow dude ur so smart and deep...... hahahah NOT

  • This song is brilliant, going straight onto my iPod!

  • Love this song, its BRILLIANT! Loved it ever since hearing it on a preview after the Academy Awards! :D

  • Dylan told the truth and also lied, this is only about lies. What happened to the spirit of the sixties, Killed by greed and George Bush. peace love and bacon

  • Beck looks like Bob Dlyan

  • AWESOME SONG I'm putting this on my ipod!!!!

  • Dude this is like rad. Its cool and overdone in a tasteful kind of way. I guess thats beck for you, ho.

  • Beck rocks! He knows that you don't do a cover to make it sound like the original, you make your own song out of a song that you dig! Dylan is awesome and Beck knows it. Happy B-day, Bob.

  • i like beck but bob dylan is 10 bajillion times better

  • This points' already been made here about 8 times. So, who's the Moron? Dipshit.

  • UUUMMMM, wake me when it's over...this song makes me irrational in the BEST way! YES!!!!!!

  • oh,,,yeah,,,,he rocks it..hard. Had some great material to work with, natch,

  • the original dylan version is kick ass, and so is this! Bob couldn't have picked a better person to cover his song

  • I'm a Dylan fan for decades, but I embrace the new. Dylan got hated on when he went electric, his fans called it crap.

I like this one. Beck is a genius.

  • Both versions are stellar in their own way. Love Dylans and i friggin love this one.

    Beck's so rad

  • Comment removed

  • And everyone laughs at you, duder. This version rocks.

  • No, you suck, this is a decent tongue in cheek rockin little thing. Tiny minds need not apply, Mr. Aptly Named.

  • Inane? More like Insane this cover is amazing, how dare you call it inane.

  • this song rules.

  • I'm a life long dylan fan, not really so much into beck.. but will honestly say. I like this jam! Beck did a great job with it.

He made the song his own and didnt just try to duplicate the original.

I personally think the original has more character and charm, due to dylans tone and timing of delivery... but Dylan is the master. Which is why we all love him!

  • you sound like an Idol judge haha

tell us about his pitch.. was it too pitchy?

  • The seventies was a great time for music and Beck nails it - making this song like it should be playing on that 'new fangled' FM radio we listened to in college. :)

  • this is fuckn great!!!!beck took notes from t rex i can tell sounds just like t rex

  • i love both versions. beck's is just so amped up! its awesome!

  • bob dylan couldnt sing... but thats why everybody loved him

  • Love the crow sounds ! Beck rocks this song.

  • hey dude

i could care less wether one or the other can sing

as long as the song it's self sounds good

  • This isn't bad. And I can see where it would grow on someone. Definitely more of a rock song than the original, though I do agree with whoever said the original had more humor in it. We're talking apples and oranges here.

  • AcousticGuitar1973 can suck a sloppy chode

  • LOL, lick my leftie.

  • Haven't heard a Dylan cover this good in ages. Beck killed it!

  • I like both songs. I think it's nifty that the original artists decided who they wanted to do the covers. And War Child is a great cause. I can't wait to get the cd.

  • lol ill say what i said on the other

why do people like one or the other

i think they are both good songs

  • why? probably because, unlike Dylan, Beck can actually sing & play a quitar.

  • I've never heard Dylan play a quitar, but as a guitar player he is actually pretty good. Listen to his early records.

  • I think they're both equally good quitar players!

  • Honestly I listened to it, this version kicks some very serious butt over the original. I still respect any artist to do a song their own way but some people don't even know that Dylan himself CHOSE Beck to cover his song for the WarChild album. ANyone who doesn't think WarChild is a great cause is mentally disturbed seriously, it's a great charity for kids trapped in war.

  • amazing cover!

  • were you pick up your fucking music critiquing lingo rolling stones you fucking fagot

  • chill, this song has been covered before, and worse versions have been done. That being said i like this version and it's for a good cause, so calm the fuck down.

  • You OBVIOUSLY haven't even listened to the original, it had no soul, it was one of Dylan' least inspired recordings, HE personally said that Beck kicked it out of the ball park and rocked IT. Good luck with your dumb and dumber future.

  • dylan actually asked beck to do this cover, so not only are you a sad panda, you are a stupid one.

  • The two songs don't even sound the same. I thought they were different. This song rocks.

  • i actually like this one better than dylans version, which is weird cause i usually think original is better.

  • Excellent song!

  • I love this song sooooo much. :D

  • Great cover... not sure if it's as good as the original... but it definitely is good :)

I sharted when I read that BECK was covering BOB DYLAN. My 2 favourite artists :D

  • He is so cute!!!! I wish he was my boyfriend!!!

  • this is how it should have sounded in the first place! Excellent Mr. Beck! I also heard it on Oscars, and looked for credits; in vein

    Thanx for posting.

  • I also discovered this at the Oscars end credits hoping to catch the name of this song, so I searched for this song here on YouTube, and bought the CD at Best Buy. I love this cover even better than the original.

  • dang, Beck really amped up Bod Dylan's song. wow! i love it!

  • heard it on the oscars ...and been obsessed ever since :)

    thanks for putting this up

  • theres nowhere you can get it for free?!

  • just pony up the 79 cents. It's for a good cause. =)

  • The crows "cackling" in this made me(and the dog) run to the window the first time I heard it LOL! The official release of the Warchild 5- Heroes isn't until March here in Canada....aaaarrrrgggh, thnx for posting Heather and don't forget to support this crucially important cause everyone.

    luv Christine

  • I was just wondering if you found this song somewhere and if you did could you tell me where cuz I cant find it anywhere?!

  • see details on "more info" =)

  • Adore it!

  • Such a good cover. It breaks today in the states on the War Child Heroes album.

  • Thank you, finally! Someone posts the studio version, thnx so much. Does anyone know why they played THIS at the closing of the Oscars!! They didn't even announce that it was Beck....very odd, but amazing to see his music accompanying the closing of the program nonetheless.Makes me wonder if it's on the soundtrack of one of this years upcoming films?

  • I was wondering the same!! It came after the new films list, so maybe. I was disappointed to see no credit to him or the song either. Then for those with the ear to identify him, much less the vision to appreciate it, he needs no credit.

  • Love it!!!
