I am a PC user and I love Mac, but i think it is too expencive.... i have worked on a mac for a couple of times and this is my opinion:

Mac is great... But it is just a pretty computer with good graphics and made for fun ....... I mean it looks like cool, but it is hard to use ...

PC is not pretty as Mac but it is made for work. There are no scrolling and 3D things on a PC like on a Mac but you can do many everyday things like surfing the web....

I have the same Macbook i love it and i plan to keep it for ever since these models are rare as apple stop making all aluminum unibody macbooks. i put a backlit keyboard in mine works great. Nice vid.

Meh technically yes because a pc laptop with the same hardware will cost you $600.

But i guess its worth it. In my case I has 2 grand to spend on a laptop so i had the choice of either a mbp 17 or a gaming notebook. I personally didnt see the point in spending 2 grand on a laptop that wouldnt game as good as a 1 grand desktop. furthermore, the battery life on these gaming notebooks suck. so i ended up going with a mbp 17 unibody with 8hrs of battery life

a desktop... go compare a dell, or hp or something notebook to a macbook (remember ddr3 memory, backlit keyboard, aluminum instead of cheep plastic).

I found most of them are around the same price.

i doubt it. you can always find a PC with faster hardware for the same price as a mac. the problem is that when it comes to laptops, it tends to be a cheap consumer-grade product. I suggest you look at the business line laptops from HP and dell.

Find a PC laptop faster than apple macbook pro 3.06 ghz duo core.

Are you talking about desktops or laptops? I'll tell you one thing, brand doesn't really matter in desktops- they don't make anything, they just put computers together from intel/amd and nvidia/ati parts. They're the same thing. Which is why for desktops, building your own is always the best option.

I can tell by that last line that you are not too informed about computers. Back in the days of the pentium 4 processor and powerPC, 2Ghz to 3Ghz was a huge performance leap. WIth a Core 2 duo, though, there is little performance increase with that overclock.

For me, a macbook pro is the best option. But unlike you, I wasn't blinded by all the apple hype- i looked into some PC laptops too. I suggest you look at the business range laptops from HP and Dell (magnesium chasis, 8gb ram, etc)

I have a laptop that has never been to any porn site, has never used limewire, has never downloaded a torrent. and it had no virus protection in a year so i decided to scan it to make sure and it got to 700,000 viruses before i decided to just reformat it.

I had another laptop at the same time which i used to download torrents, limewire, etc... and tit found a virus from time to time but not near that any!

I used AVG free on the compaq presario.

not only porn has viruses.

im not trying to make some cheap personal insult here (though i find it humorous), I'm only trying to point out the fact that Windows is not a "bad" OS. If you think about it, when you reformat (or build) a computer and install windows on it, it runs perfectly for a while doesnt it? its all the third party shit that gets installed that ends up bogging it down. i have all useless startup programs and services disabled and windows vista (and 7) run as flawless as OS X does on my mbp.

I have has so many problems with windows 7 so far

1. crash and freeze when opening a simple maze game and didn't come back

2. crysis titles skrewed up

3. crash while installing fps creater... start bar and everything are gone.

etc...

these are problems i remember with xp, Microsoft should stop focusing on ripping off other OS's and fix what they have.

at WWDC apple burned Microsoft when they said windows 7 still uses the old crowded registry and dll's

if I remember correctly, you have a Mac and I assume thats the platform you're trying Windows 7 on. Im gonna assume your videocard is a gt120. if thats the case, that shitty videocard is your problem.

2 year old 24 inch imac with an ATI,RadeonHD2600

3 year old 17 inch imac

3 year old acer aspire

it ran fine on vista...

I'm going to start keeping my video camera beside me when i'm using windows and upload every problem.

It seems to me like another random problem. that only happens on 1 machine...

oh w8 heres another problem... on the aspire it randomly decided the internet didnt exist for about a day than randomly came back later that day... i didnt do anything...

go to run>msconfig and disable all non-microsoft services and programs. i almost guarantee you that if you do that, windows will run as good 4 years from now as it did when it was freshly installed.

If you think M$oft rips apple off all the time, you should see how much OS X rips off features from linux distros like ubuntu

Hi. How do you mean "Which is just the cable". The mac Book has no FireWire ports at all. I have the mac Book pro for video editing in Final cut pro, but the mac Book you would not be able to edit videos to a high standard which is a shame. I suppose they have left them off so people will buy the Mac Book Pro's !!

That might change in this years WWDC, normally when a new OS is released (Snow Leopard) they also release refreshed versions of the Macs, so there is a possibility of firewire for the MacBook...Hopefully.

I have a new Macbook 13 in. It's custom. I have more RAM and a larger HD. But the speakers are nice. Everything works nicely. The trackpad is excellent. I have no complaints. It's easy to use. This is my first Mac. I think it's easier to use than a computer using Microsoft OS.
