I think this gameplay works, infact I was impressed when I first saw it. But afterI completed the game I realised it was too short and far too repetitve. Also, what's wrong with the story? Glad Matt Fraction's on the sequel.

Well I look at it like an arcade like shooter, haven't played it but if you recognize that's probably how it plays then it might be good if you like that style. There are other games like this but all I can think of at the moment is Raiden mixed with Contra. Almost Neo Contra but flying. Looks fun to me.
