I just read on fan asylum in November 2011, steve got to post some Q&A and one of the questions was, will he be releasing any new material, and his response is yes. He is working on recording now. I have the whole interview. I don't think it's a matter of steve not being able to sing, I think it's been a matter of him wanting to sing. He's been through a lot, and I respect him for that.
Steve is and always will be an incredible singer/song writer. He is so connected to and isn't afraid to show how he feels. He has everything going for him. Steve can still sing and he can still get the crowd going, not to mention he is so hot! You will see, when he sings for us again, he will have so much more beautiful music. We love you, Steve, and we never stopped believin in you!
Thank you for posting all four parts. It's incredible to hear it all come together to become the beautiful song that it is. I wish I could sing this to Steve! We miss you, Steve! xo
WHy all this talk of him not being able to sing. Maybe he just likes being retired. He earned it with allof the concerts and all. He's 61 years old he has nothing to prove to anyone. Remember him as he was. Young, full of music and "the Voice" to all of us who still love to hear the songs no matter how old they are.
I so love this song, I am sitting here at 2:46 am crying my eyes out, thinking of my Fiance that passed away 4 months before our wedding, Just missing him so much It ACHES. I love you Daniel Lee Castillo, God Rest Your Soul.
I am so sorry. Elina... Only hope that beautiful music like this-and your memories can give you some comfort. Steve has so many songs that might help you grieve. " One More Time" is another one...
Voice drew me in and the lyrics keep me there and I love all stages of his voice, and if he can never sing again well I'm just glad he did and we will have that forever. He should be as proud of himself as we who love him do, his mother knew and we learned and we are lucky.
sharla-on the 2004 recordings with David Pack he still sounded fabulous.Doubt that much has changed in only 5 years. He said himself in 7/2009 that he is recording. Now if he will just make a deal to have it released!!
Perry's voice is still good. And this is not from inner circle. Yes his voice is deeper, but every ones voice gets that way as they get older. Dennis Miller interview, did you notice no rasp? Exactly!
When will people realize that IF he can't sing anymore, its harder on him than anyone else? Jeeze Rod Stewart can't sing anymore IMO, and he never had the range that SP does!!!
If britney spears can have a career with her robot voice, SP can with his older deeper voice..
What I read is that the Journey ladies from Fan Asylum had heard his demo. NOBODY counts his chanting at the World Series as even an attempt at singing. Sorry, I'm sticking with the petition idea. Gonna get it noticed for his 60th birthday!

Chanting? He was singing - if you can call it that - DSB. My gawd...I sing better than that! And that whole Lora and Cyndy bullshit? Those two are ass clowns in a big way. They're have zero credibility. I'd say 90% of what those two skanks say is pure wishful thinking and speculation. If you're counting on them, you're fucked!
SP seems to trust them. Check out any of the re-released SP and Journey material and look for whose names are there for providing historic reference/materials.

I'd trust people too if they went around and talked a bunch of phony bullshit hyping me up all day long. He could kill their families with an axe and tghey'd still gush and goo about how great he is.
Those two ass clowns are, if nothing else, good for a laugh! I love seeing them spew forth their incessant bullshit. It's sad and pathetic, but funny nonetheless.
We, the fans, dont want to see such a talent wasted!! Tell Steve Perry how much hes wanted on the music scene again by signing the Steve Perry Sing Again petition. Go to petitiononlinecom and enter Steve Perry in the search.
Let Steve know how many people are eager to hear THE VOICE again!!!!
WSill you SHUT UP already about this stupid petition. Listen, if he COULD still sing, he WOULD still sing! If he wanted to come back, even with a voice that makes Rod Stewart sound smooth, he would. Okay? Your stupid petition won't change anything. It's not like he gives a damn!
I take it from your comment, you're not a fan of Mr. Perry. He can still sing - people in his inner circle have heard a demo from him a few months back. Yes, if he wants to come back to the music scene he will. The petition's intent is to gather all the fans' support from YouTube and put it in one place. The title of the petition doesn't accurately reflect that. I think Steve is unaware of the renewed interest in him and the fans' desire to hear him again.

I'm not a fan of his solo work. His work with Journey before ROR was good though. I do think that from '78 - '82 he had one of the best voices in music...any genre.
The point is that he can't do it anymore. I'm sure someone somewhere has a clip of his lame attempt to sing on Rockline. It was horrible. Then his god awful attempt to sing DSB at the World Series. Horrific.
That "inner circle" thing is all bullshit! You're gullible if you believe that! And any petition is stupid and fruitless!
Found this on the web posted by T.Denander on Melodic Rock site: "about a year ago i spent a whole evening with him (Steve) at a Michael Thompson show in LA.He was really cool and in a very good mood.Moon Calhoon was singing the classic MTB songs with Michael that night, which was a huge treat and Steve was singing backing vocals from our table even walking up close to the stage in the small club.he sounded amazing that night anyway and i didn't get the feeling that his voice is gone at all"

Funny how he was at this "club show", yet no one knew about it? Oh, let me guess, the only three people there were Denander, Thompson, and Perry, right?
Look, the proof is in the pudding. Listen to him during the World Series when he made a lame attempt at singing. Listen to the absolutely HORRIBLE Rockline recording.
Some guy talking about Perry being at a club show yet no one else ever knowing he was there is crap.
And singing vocals from a table? WTF? Walking to the stage? Huh?
Completely possible he was at a small club virtually unnoticed. He's SO private and out of the limelight, it's possible. What Rockline recording are you referring to? Got a link to it. Only reference to SP and Rockline on the net is an interview.

Yeah, Perry shows up at a club, sings, and NO ONE NOTICED! Yeah, right! Sure! Give me a break!
He did a Rockline show years ago. The interviewer prodded him into singing Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home". It was HORRIBLE. I mean god awfully horrific.
Look, he was among the top perhaps 20 singers of all time during his prime. But to believe he can sing these days is to be delusional.
The only way we'd ever hear anything new is if it's pro-tooled to death. I can make myself sound great!
Wow you can really hear it coming together here! This is so cool getting to listen to steve actually writing and developing such a wonderful song. Thank you Kate for allowing us fans to experiencing this. :D
