@e1853b Yes way a gto with a few simple bolt ons (intake...headers..) will rape up on a viper. my stock gto outruns corvettes and hangs with cts-v's and all i have is a magnaflow catback and vararam. You have obviously never rode in a gto.

Nice video..viper owner here...srt is a average 11.9-12.1 car at 119-121 mph. great drivers can hit mid 11s at up to 124 mph. fast car but nothin amazeing. ls2 gto is a 13.2-13.4 at 107 to 109 mph On average. basically c5 speed. good drivers can touch 12s at 110 mph.
huge differance between these cars and its nice to see the well modded gto take out the snake
@timbo1539 ....a $22k gto isn't going to beat a viper....only something heavily modded...at minimum a good supercharger and exhaust just to have a chance...they aren't built very well either. The viper is creaky beast but you can beat the crap out of it and it will still run.
@e1853b The GTO has a lower drag coefficient than the viper and a roll race eliminates the inertia factor since the cars are already in motion. The viper in this video is pumping out 510hp. I used to think 510 was alot, until I drove a GTO with a 112 Maggie with some other mods that was pumping 550hp into the pavement. The viper is still my dream car, and the danger of driving one is what makes it special, but dont hate on the Goat, cause Billy will kick you in the teeth.
whats better in a gto auto or manuel? Well it depends if you like changing gear box's if you do go with the 4l60e auto prity much have to change them every two years! The manual ones are rated to like 700 hp and take a bit of thrashing before they fuck up

autos are better for drag racing. no manual mode on the auto, old fashioned 4 speed. reason autos are better is that you can have a huge stall, and can launch much better than a manual can. as for "holding in gear longer?" please. reprogram shift points, done.

Just think about it. Doesn't matter what you're racing, time or an opponent it still comes down to what your doing. That being said when your racing with a manual transmission you have to change gears on your own. in the process of doing so how much time are you losing in between each shift? Half a second, who knows? Where as the automatic shifts on its own without any loss of time, mishifting etc.
yes i am. the stock driveshaft is an inefficient 2 peice peice of shit. with rubber U-joints meant for smoother shifting but cuts power. a single peice driveshaft with metal ujoints doesnt increase but restores the power previously lost

im procharging my goat and im going to have full bolt ons with new 18's soon. hell it does 160 already i think with the new blower ill be able to hit at least 185+, but im thinking of lowering the gears but not sure if its possible on a manual since imma noob. i just like my car and wanna make it better.
Ive got one but the Australian Version and tuned it does 260kms at 4,500 rpm then i changed the diff to harrop haven't done a top speed run but it had 3.45 gears now it has 3.71 a lot quicker 0-60 or 100kms in 3.5 and you need 18s or the breaks don't fit

I'm pretty sure that Goat didn't have very much modded into it. I've driven a Viper and it loses a lot of power in higher gears and they started off at about 60-70. Second, the Goat was an auto so his driving didn't play much factor.
they do look much better in person...but itll wax 98% of whats out there stock...and is pretty much a c6 corvette for a bargain...thats why they are hard to find. ive been trying to get one.
I know that in the end the speed is what matters, but the GTO didn't sell well because of its styling. They said a GTO looked more like a sheep than a goat. I don't think the styling is bad, but where a Viper would draw the most crowds at a car show, the GTO would only get a reasonable amount of views if people knew the true potential of it, or if you opened the hood.

I'm pretty sure that Goat didn't have very much modded into it. I've driven a Viper and it loses a lot of power in higher gears and they started off at about 60-70. Second, the Goat was an auto so his driving didn't play much factor.

they do look much better in person...but itll wax 98% of whats out there stock...and is pretty much a c6 corvette for a bargain...thats why they are hard to find. ive been trying to get one.

I know that in the end the speed is what matters, but the GTO didn't sell well because of its styling. They said a GTO looked more like a sheep than a goat. I don't think the styling is bad, but where a Viper would draw the most crowds at a car show, the GTO would only get a reasonable amount of views if people knew the true potential of it, or if you opened the hood.
