unfortunately this game is WAY easier on an emulator because emulators have an "autofire" button which is a lot easier than button mashing an actual arcade controller.

What I've always loved about this game is the colossal uselessness of some of the Rebellion Army's designs...that boss from the Egyptian level? Completely useless except inside that crypt.

And then the missiles shooting from the wells in Level 4. COMPLETELY USELESS except to stop you jumping over the wells. Why not a machine gun? Why waste so much money and resources on building missile launchers?

I have Metal Slug Anthology on Wii and the one thing that pisses me off about it is that even though MSX is just MS2 with slightly better graphics and slightly harder difficulty, someone thought it would be a good idea to include both in the collection.

Well how does that piss you off? I mean I understand we all have an opinion and I have the game for the Wii myself and I was quite happy that they included the "prototype" to Metal Slug X because it shows you what made X the better version and both are pretty fun overall. The thing is, both X and 2 have some major differences as well which is what got them both in the Anthology, but understand what your trying to say but there was only 7 games in the series anyway so I guess the more the merrier

Its possible... just asign 2 keys to the fire button... ur faster button-smashing 2 buttons in sequence than a single one. thats how i would do it (if i were not to use any turbo)

Ya, that's a good idea! But I didn't think of that at that time. I mean I played this in the arcade and there was only 1 assigned fire button lol, so there was no way that you could mash two fire buttons. But that is a good idea nonetheless!
