I prefer the MS-2 Metal Zone... the missing mids on this one makes it less versatile... in my Opinion. But if you dig this sound pick it up, but I think that a well adjusted MS-2 beats this one... I also have to admit that I would never set the distortion above 1 o´clock... but who is into this mega distorted sound anyway... avantgarde maybe?

I have the metal core and the mxr fullbore metal pedal. When I compare both, the metal core has more of a natural full over the top distortion, more open sound. The fullbore metal has more crunch, brighter and has a more digital sound to it. The distortion is heavy also, but it sounds like a sampled distortion, like what you hear on a Line6 amp. Very digital sounding.

the MXR zakk wylde is an overdrive pedal you dumbass!! this is a high gain distortion. The MXR ZW is like the SD-1, can't even do what a DS-1 standard distortion box does. get your facts straght before posting =D
