You should do Highway 10, and then take the right exit 0:25 and take Mn 47/ University Avenue to downtown Minneapolis. It's a really old route but is suprisingly quick because even though it has lights it also has a lot of bridges and unlighted areas that go over a lot of railroad yards and industrial areas. Plus you get to go past Northtown!
That's very cool. I enjoyed the opening with the globe and map as well as the little notes you did along the way.
Like you, I also have a couple time lapse videos of Hwy 10-one from Coon Rapids (like yours) to Blaine and one from St. Cloud to Little Canada. But as I said, you went a step further than I did with the research notes along the way. Nice touch.
It would have to be about 35 minutes long at this speed and there wouldn't be much to look at. And youtube would destroy the quality of a video that size. I've thought about it though.
@eluko79 We have a mixed bag in Texas when it comes to winters, but we don't put near enough money into our roads. I've been to the MSP area and while their roads may be more beat-up, ours are just traffic-clogged with little money for expanding them. (unless it is a toll road project)
Minneapolis is the only city to cross the Mississippi. Then how do they have TV and radio stations? East has W and west has K for stations. Does Minneapolis have both?
I did a little research and found out that Honeywell used to make DU (depleted uranium) bullets there for the Korean and Vietnam wars. Do a Google search on "TCAAP radiation" and you'll find a few stories on it.
Thanks! The google part is kinda tricky. I capture the screen with camstudio, then save the pushpin as an image and then draw the route on windows paint.

I love that kind of weather (I'm from Texas). Can you do a video showing a trip from Minneapolis to Duluth? Most of these are too short.

Those are some of the worst roads I've ever seen. Don't they EVER repave/repair roads there?

Tell me about it. States without a winter put more money into roads then we do.

Hey I never thought about that. There's WCCO, KSTP, KMSP, KARE, and WFTC so yeah.

You know route 36 between I-35W and I-35E? I think it should become I-235! Isn't that a great idea?!?!

But its an east/west route. It would have to have an even number. And since its older than the interstates, I kind of like the original name.

Cool video. Do you have any more information on the abandoned WW2 Ammunition yard? I searched but couldn't find anything.

A few weeks later and you would've caught a "declared finished" Unweave the Weave.

Fantastic work! Cool beginning with Google Earth... can you let me know how you do that??
The roads are looking a bit old and in need of repair at times.
