  • What do you expect serriously when your church activly funds and become a pressure group for witholding the civil rights of others - there are consequences

  • @candiceevans1 What does the sexual abuse of children have to do with gay rights? That is criminal and always will be. Gay rights is about CONSENTING ADULTS (children can not consent to sex, therefore it is illegal) doing what they want with other CONSENTING ADULTS. The Bible should have nothing to do with how the government is run. The Bible can tell you how to live your life but not everyone's life. Not everyone in the US is a the same type of Christian as you, let alone Christian at all.

  • @candiceevans1 The bible also specifically says "thou shalt not kill", but it also says its my duty to kill my son if he tries to convert me to another religion. I'm supposed to love my neighbor, unless of course he works on the Sabbath, then its my duty to kill him. women are supposed to sacrifice two turtles every time they menstrate. wearing polyester goes against the bible. believers are immune to poison, ect. the bible says alot of things, that doesn't mean they're true.

  • @Cledith7 Why do you have to hate? Are you a self-loathing closet case?

  • What do you expect to happen when you flaunt an opposing view at a rally?

  • Does anyone see the irony in this video?

  • 1:51 What happens everytime the KKK have a march?

  • @applefrog111

They Are Just Sheets Blowing In The Wind. LOL

  • The US is not a theocracy! It is a secular country and was made that way from the beginning. You can believe anything you want but have no right to force your desert fairy tales on anyone else. Your right to believe stops when you infringe on the rights of other human beings. You do not get to vote on civil rights.

  • To this day, the area where Sodom and Gomorrah were located remains a desolate wasteland. Sodom and Gomorrah serve as a powerful example of how God feels about sin in general, and homosexuality specifically.

  • @cbhockenbury

    But there is no god,,,,,,

  • @applefrog111

So So True What You Say. There Is No god. But, There Is "GOD". "GOD" Said Have No Other gods Before Me. That Meant No gods That People Make Up. These gods Are A Trick Of Satan To Fool People Into Following Him And Not GOD. Like The Rats That Follow The Piped Piper In The Fairytale. They All Fall In The Ditch (Hellbound) And Don't Even Know It Is Happening To Them. Because Their Spirit Is Listening To The Wrong Piper (Satan). Many Are Called But, Few (The Bride Of Christ) Chosen.

  • @cbhockenbury Many Christians missinterprate that particular story in the bible because many christians aren't familiar with the cultures of the middle east during that time period. since the men of the village wanted to have sex with the two angels that visited the village, you automatically assume the story is about homosexuality, when in fact, its actually a story about bad hospitality. their was a custom during that time in the middle east that if a man visited a village he did not reside in

  • @theguythatplaysbass all the men of the village, gay or straight, would have sex with the stranger to display dominance and so the stranger knew who was in charge. god destroyed the village because he dislined of the custom because you are required to love thy neighbor.

  • It Was A Well Watered Plain. Like A Garden Area Where All Wanted To Be To Raise Their Families. But, What We Call Gays Today Ruined It For All Inhabitants And The Lands Around About. San Francisco & Los Angeles Are Two Such Places. But, They Both Will Suffer The Hand Of GOD. Vacate Them. To his Day, The Area Where Sodom And Gomorrah Were Located Remains A Desolate Wasteland. Sodom And Gomorrah Serve As A Powerful Example Of How God Feels About Sin In General, And Homosexuality Specifically.

  • They weren't "singing a hymn in public" to personally express their religious beliefs, they were "singing a hymn in public" in order to use their religious beliefs to harass gays and lesbians. Yeah, people who are treated like second class citizens are going to get angry, going to get explosive, when those oppressing them show up. It's not politically smart, but it's not akin to taking away the rights of Christians. Since when is there a right to harass and oppress people?

  • It breaks my heart that they feel the need to be so violent. They say Prop 8 supporters are hateful and unfair... look at them. They are behaving like a bunch of baboons. Way to go, Prop 8 opponents, way to go. You have earned my respect. NOT. This is one reason they're not convincing me of anything... because they look ridiculous. Why in the world would I want to be one of them?

  • a bunch of lovely and tolerant people...

  • There's no "violence" here. It's called free speech, folks.

  • @stayingup2late Then what was that violence that we saw? Sounds like somebody is in denial.

  • Look who's talking, swinevomit! Haven't they suffered enough for something that they can't control and that cannot be evil in itself?!

  • I don't like the term "fags", but I agree with the rest.

  • wow, talk about being full of hate and rage.

  • If you are so for the family, then why aren't you putting any effort into protecting fathers in family courts, that get their children ripped from them. You all are a bunch of hypocrites.

  • I wont tolerate YOUR religion being imposed on ME .. who's the hater when we react to YOUR hate ?

  • Sick gayzists.

  • 5/26/09

    Victory! Marriage Upheld in California!

    6-1 RULING!

  • @ingodwetrust99 *points and laughs*

  • The really bigots and haters accuse others being hatred and intolerance, ridiculous...

I wonder if one day webster has to change the dictionary definition of marriage because of the PC culture...

  • It is a sham when the gay and lesbian movement is the talking head for "tolerance" and fighting "hatred", yet always turns right around and practices true intolerance and hatred when things don't go their way. Pure hypocrisy!

  • Well, the supposed jesus of nazareth reminded his followers, they would be hated, in matt 10:22. And sometimes, it's a moral necessity to remind them, especially when they go round harrassing people in the castro about 'change is possible'.

As for the woman with a polystyrene cross - what harm was done? She was untouched. Her accomplice started the trouble, by ripping a No sign out of a protester's hands.

As usual, Christians making themselves look persecuted, unconvincingly.

  • nothing but bullshit christian propaganda.

  • Clearly not, as you can see on the video.

  • yeah we should just be overjoyed that you voted away our rights, and "in the name of the democratic process" I piss on you and your so called "good CHristiaN beliefs"

for a group of people who claim that we pushed our beliefs on them, you did a great job blurring the separation between church and state

  • amen brother!

  • Hey did you know that "separation of church and state" isn't even in the constitution? And it has to do with stopping the STATE from intervening with religious freedoms of the CHURCH, not the other way around.

  • Hmmm...actually I think it's both. Remember that the Founding Fathers were well aware of the state-sponsored Anglican Church in England and the influence of Rome in European political affairs at one time. Clearly they felt that government shouldn't be involved in organized religion. Doesn't mean that they were all atheists or deists, though.

  • We all have the same rights. Every man has the right to marry a woman; every woman has the right to marry a man. You can't say a straight person has the right to marry "whomever he likes", because it's not true. Straight men have the right to marry a woman, just like everyone else.

  • is not going to stop them from sinning. As for this video: The gays shown were wrong to not respect our beliefs. However, protesting their rights is doing the same to them, and the fact of the matter is that we Christians provoked them by striking first.

  • How are we striking first? The people voted and decided...that's how democracy works...majority rules...and in this case, it wasn't a 51%-49% type of thing, it was an OVERWHELMING MAJORITY!!! If and overwhelming majority voted no on 8, we would have tried to reverse it, sure, but we wouldn't be having VIOLENT PROTESTS in the street.

  • As Christians, it is our moral responsibility to save gays from their sin. But this is a country of religious freedom. Therefore the bible cannot be used as the basis for a POLITICAL decision. The Constitution clearly states that all men should have equal rights. As Christians it is our obligation to save these gays. But as Americans it is our responsibility to protect their rights. Furthermore, even outside of marriage homosexuals are partaking in the same behavior. Denying them wedlock

  • wow! ppl think that ppl who vote yes of 8 r taking away rights.....but here they r taking away the right of those ppl. No on 8 ppl are vandalizing, and destroying property and lives of these ppl.

  • Well at least some people around here have a head on their shoulders! Oh and for all you people who are gonna thumbs-down my comment...I love you guys anyways!

  • Go on, scourage the internet for any scraps on information you may possibly find. I'll be waiting...

  • Ahh, so we agree it's a religious topic. Well done. And how can two people of the same sex that want to get married possibly affect you and your children. Please, I'm intregued.

Another thing, freedom of religion! It's in the Constitution buddy. Your only arguments have only arrisen from a PERSONAL choice you've made. You have no right to even make these arguments on the basis that you are because all-in-all it's a personal choice youve made that shouldn't affect the Government in any way.

  • And if you say it's a sin then this conversation is over because you would have proven my point.

  • we as people will never have true peace until we can all embrace each others defferences and discard the chains of intolrence.

  • I like how the Alliance D Fund *morans* try to depict

the Christian soldiers "in the Body Of Christ" fighting

the good fight against the satanic Prop 8 *homasexuls*

This isn't even good propaganda but I'm sure it

satisfies the intended audience. Every movement

needs it's martyrs to give ppl the idea that they

must fight till the last drop of sanctimony is

    exhausted.

  • What's your definition of propaganda? Considering that this is a selection of New footage it seems to violate the standard definition.

  • Propaganda: chiefly derogatory info, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. Let me give you MY DEFINITION; a last gasping plea TO EMOTION BY THE PARTY WITH THE MOST TO LOSE. It's pretty sad that you are that party. This video would be rejected by the minister of revisionist history in any George Orwell novel.
  • lol. Well, personally, I think that both of us are the parties that would lose the most.

    BUt

    1. I would say that we are winning since we passed proped 8.

    2. This isn't that derogatory. What you probably don't understand is that most conservative Christians feel attacked by a biased media that portrays them as nasty intolerant jackasses. This video serves to readdress that perceived imbalance.

And no one is making this up, either. All of it is news footage.

  • Yes, you won by pushing crap like this with "horrified" Christians "shocked and appalled and awed" with the maniac screaming. You managed to find a demonstration with a desecrated cross & all the drama for the folks back home. I really never cared about any of this until I heard the Mormons & the Warren's, the Hagee's & Parsley's were backing Prop 8 with the big bucks. At that point I knew which side I was on. They managed to find a demonstration with a cross getting
  • No, we one because more californians on our side put their vote in the ballot box than californians on your side.

And I don't understand why the mormon's donations have anything to do with the question, as I'm sure there were plenty of donations made on your side

To be honest, most christians are not horrified or trying to raise hell. At least, in my opinion. Have you seen differently?

  • Yes, and my donation was one of them against. My point was that anyone on "your side" who saw this video with the screaming as *proper* introduction is programed to be "horrified" & "shocked" which is why this piece of crap was put on YT. Like I said this vid wouldn't even make it to the cutting room floor of Orwell's Minister of DISinformation. Why? b/c it's so obvious... but on 2nd thought that's exactly why it was put on when considering it's intended demographic.
  • Daniel Fetty, a deaf young man. Zoliswa Nkonyana age 19. Lawrence King age 15.

All of these people were killed by right wing "religious" fanatics simply because they were gay.

Do me a favor. Go to Google. Type in "homosexuals beaten to death for being gay". I found hundreds of names and articles. Then type in "heterosexuals beaten to death for being straight". I didn't find one name, one news report.

The fact of the matter is that Christians promote this hate. Pure and simple.

  • Actually, Any idiot who takes out his hate on a homosexual is disowned by most christians. At Least, the christians who are sane. Are you saying that hate is the foundation of the Christian family movement, even for those who protest peacefully?

  • 52% to 48% is not overwhelming.

    Try again.

  • Homosexuality is so like a reliogn it's scary, they have no proof that it's genetic, but insist because their no proof that it's not, it must b, then preach on how they should change the world to match their belief, if that's not like a religion, I don't know what is. It's a religion trying not to be a religion so that they can still use the law to enforce their beliefs.

  • Not overwhelming, but nonetheless....the majority.

  • Let me tell you, the way things are going, your not going to be able to touch marriage with a ten foot pole. Homosexuals are not a race it a lifestyle choice, because even if it is genetic, what you do with it is your choice, and your trying to push a behvior into civil law, forceing everyone to comform to your views or be penalised. Your actions now prove that you will abuse any right you recieve to their full extent, and people will ony tolerate your comunistic behavior for so long.

  • Just wait until the

    incest

    polygamist

    pedophile

    bestial

    necrophilia RIGHTS

Come on board..... then our society will have finally reached NIRVANA.

  • their called christians

  • Perhaps many of them are...

But it does not make them any more of a right then gay rights are.

    Funny,,,, if christians are

    incest

    polygamist

    pedophiles

    bestials

    necro's etc...

Then why are christians against all these rights as well as gay rights?

Perhaps christians are against all degenerates?

  • People, the Bible is clear about what marriage is (you don't have to agree with the Bible, by the way), history is clear about it, the animal kingdom is clear (males mate with females). If two men or two women want to live together that's their prerogative. But their preference for a mate should not dictate to the vast majority what marriage is.

  • Which bible could you mean, it couldn't be the king james version which is the least accurate to the truth. Your choices are many and so are your choices for editions and revisions. Obviously, you have never gone beyond high school science. But, thanks for making god's decisions and approving anyway.

  • Having our right to marry taken away was devastating. I'm sure you would be angry, if someone told you that you could no longer marry!I am standing tall and looking at homophobia in the face! Personally through digging deeply and spiritually, I have moved through the anger! I understand that people who are homophobic were not born that way. They were taught to fear! I am confident that will win our right to marry back, and I will continue discuss away homophobia with love!

  • less homophobia, more....homonausea

  • The gay card is overplayed, it was all you focused on in No, and it is all you are focusing on now. That is why you lost. Try taking an interest in the concerns of the voters instead of accusing everyone of homophobia. The novelty has worn off, try something new.

  • In 1967, the US Supreme court overturned the discrimination in the US, when 13 states were not allowing interracial marriages. We believe the California Supreme court will overturn prop 8. Otherwise, we vote again in 2 years, and we will NOT stop talking about it until we have equality in ALL of the states and Fedrally by repealing D.O.M.A. This struggle for our basic civil right to marry and equality has just begun. The march on Washingtom is being organized! Can't wait!!

  • Cricket, that is a crock. You have the same right to marry as anyone else. You just cant marry your cousin, 3 people, a cow, or somone of the same sex. There is a big difference between "rights" and your "personal liberties". Government sanctioning of a sexual preference is ludicrious.

  • "Government sanctioning of a sexual preference is ludicrious."

"Ludicrious"? What do you think prop-8 does? It banns the civil rights/'liberties' (not to mention what many concider a religious concept) to people because of their sexual preference.

"You have the same right to marry as anyone else"

Kind of like how you have a right to religion (only as long as its Islam) in most muslim governments? I doubt you think this is right/just, but your willing to apply their same reasoning.

  • This video shows two isolated incidents. At this point, hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life have protested Prop 8. But leave it to the ever-deceptive "pro-family" crew to make martyrs of out a few people in order to paint ALL gays as intolerant. Disgusting.

  • Biologically, one man and one woman is different from two men and two women. Last, setting aside the Constitution Elton John doesnt even support gay marriage! He prefers civil unions. Heterosexuals get married; homosexuals get civil unions. I highly doubt anyone is calling Elton John a religious bigot.

  • Marriage is a desire to have the government involved in your life with all of the burdens and the benefits. Next, if were going to talk about equality under the Constitution, people need to understand what that really entails. Equality under the 14th Amendment is all about likes being treated alike. If two men or two women are not the same as one man and one woman for marriage purposes, then equality does not require extending marriage to homosexual couples.

  • First, I would encourage anyone who has posted comments on this video to read the Constitution and past Supreme Court cases dealing with liberty and equality. Now, if youre going to argue that homosexuals should be left alone to do as they please (as in get married), thats not what marriage is about. Marriage is not about saying, government, leave me alone, its asking for the government to mess with you.

  • This was a demonstration for people against Prop 8. This woman put herself in the middle of it with her opposing opinion. If she had tolerance, she would have never put her self there, she could have had her own demonstration across the street. But she put herself RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE. Gays are beat, mutilated and murdered for nothing more than walking down the street. And you expect them to have tolerance for that homophobic crap?

  • How dare you compare what the Christian's faced because of prop 8 to what the black population had to go through. It is nowhere near on the same level. If you compare one event to one event sure, but the black community was the minority, and had to put up with discrimination far longer, and more often than the Christian majority does now. Yes these people overreacted, but do you think every christian would take it lying down if prop 8 had failed? No, there are extremists on both sides.

  • One must really consider the hurt that these biased people (the evangelists) were causing Christian gay and lesbian individuals by damning their love. Of course there was resistance.

  • That is what happens when society gives these perverts all their so called "rights". they demand more; just like the muslims. Eventually sodomy will have to be outlawed. The guy at the end of this video was the incarnation of intolerance and hate. These people should have been arrested. Dogs that they are.

  • Too true sir. These "harmless" Gay people, who mean no harm to anyone, and just want their rights, are showing their true colours now. They are partakers of evil when they commit sodomy obviously their evil actions are shining through, in their treatment of others. Call this a democracy, when a minority group can lose at the ballot box,but still bully their agenda unto others. What are we in for next? a coup?

  • words fail me.

  • Whether your words fail you or not, the fact of the matter is, the majority voted against this, and that should be respected. Comparing it to being black, is an insult. I know some black people who would be deeply offended and furious with you at the comparison. They were persecuted simply for the color of their skin, which is horrific. This is a perversion. Normalizing the abnormal doesn't make it right.

  • I do not think marriage is for making children. By saying it is, a couple that is infertile, should not be allowed to get married. And that old couples, should not allowed to get married. If they are allowed to get married because they might have children, and that straight couples would not corrupt their kids, it's a blatant lie. Children from gay families are not statistically more likely to be gay or evil than those from a straight family. Indeed, they seem to be more tolerant than others.

  • I'm sorry but I never suggested that marriage was just for making children. Marriage is a union between a man and a women and should stay that way. Why don't gays go for civil partnerships? They would still have the same rights. Why would a gay couple want to get married in a church when they know what the bible says? It's just to cause trouble. Also,it is horrific if anyone is violent to anybody, that I do not condone at all. cont...

  • cont... there have been all sorts of people wrongly persecuted all down through the ages for all sorts of reasons, not just gay people. There is laws now to protect every citizen from that sort of behavior so that holds no weight. Also when could gays not vote? When did they have to use separate bathrooms? When were they enslaved because of their sexuality? They wouldn't know what oppression is.

  • Another thing, I should be able to take my young children into Belfast on a Saturday afternoon shopping, without fear of gay men flashing them at these gay pride parades. Last year a gay man was flashing his penis at everyone and simulating sex in the middle of the street. Do you think this is acceptable behavior? If that had of been a straight man doing that on any other day he would have been called a pervert and arrested. What's the difference?

  • These parades are sexually suggestive at best. Really down and dirty at worse. Other people would be lifted for indecent exposure for what goes on at these parades, if they got up to the same things in public. A childs innocence should be paramount. These people are just selfish and don't care about children, or what children are exposed to. They just want to get their kicks and shout about it. They don't care who's affected in the process.

  • There was nothing In prop 8 that would have FORCED churches to marry them. It even said that religious organizations would not have to change their policies with regards to gay people getting married. It was propaganda. Prop 8 prevented them from getting married in a civil union, and in churches that would have allowed them to do so. Why would they want to get married in the church? Doesn't Jesus say he will forgive all sins if you accept him as your savior? cont...

  • cont... So just because people have been persecuted in the past, and there are laws to prevent it, means that it won't happen, and they shouldn't do anything when it does? I'm sorry, but, that's just wrong. Just because a law is in place doesn't mean it's enforced. I never said they were enslaved, or anything, i said they could not compare themselves to the blacks. I'm saying the gay community today is more justified to use it, than todays Christian community. cont...

  • cont... that does not mean they should use it at all. Your right, and when they do sexually explicit acts, you should report them for that. Not for gay sexually explicit acts. Also, if you don't like it, don't go there when theyre having the parade. You don't go down to where they're doing Spring Break while that's in session, and then complain about the sexually explicit acts, do you? Also, not all gay people participate in those parades, just like not all cont...

  • cont... straight people participate in Spring break, mardi gras, normal parades. Saying a segment of a population reflects the entire thing is just wrong, and bigoted. Yes, you are right, the innocence of the children is paramount. Saying one man and one girl love each other isn't perverted, and saying one man and one man loving one another is, would confuse a child. They would wonder why, and then worry why those two people aren't allowed to love each other cont...

  • cont... It wouldn't make sense to a child that hasn't been brought up being taught, a man can't love a man, a woman can't love a woman. But it would be fine to most children to know that they love each other. And they wouldn't get anymore curious about where they came from, before any other child, as with most parents, would be told they come from the stork. Until other children, brought up by another viewpoint tells them it's wrong. So, really, your corrupting the children first...

  • By giving them a point of view that makes them question love, and forcing them to deal with adoption earlier than a heterosexual couple would. Also, as was brought up earlier by somebody else, unmarried gay couples have raised children fine, if not better than heterosexual couples that have been divorced. Also, there are many un-adopted children, who would love to have a home, and somebody to care for them. And you would like them to rather have nobody, than be raised by a gay couple.

  • Yeah, you've got the children's best interest at heart. I can tell, Jesus would be proud of your blind hatred of another group, and sheer intolerance of others. (Please don't try generalizing again, it's such a poor way to argue against somebody who doesn't agree with you and will call you on it)

  • I can't believe your reaction. This was a busy shopping street. Why should I stay out of the town where I live so as people can commit these luid acts in the middle of the day. I don't know what you mean by spring break being Irish but I do my shopping every Saturday and as we're going on about rights, it's my right to take my kids shopping, without my kids having to see that. I can't believe your reaction, absolutely ridiculous. Either you don't have children or you think flashing is the norm.

  • Oh and I'm not a mind reader, I didn't think, better not walk down here in case some gay fella is flashing. Give me a break.

  • What a stupid thing to say, of course I'm not going to go to spring break and complain about the lewd acts. Why would I? I have no interest in that. I didn't go looking for it, it was there whether I liked it or not, and it spilled off the main parade which I thought had passed. It's hardly avoidable though if your walking down the road and there he's standing in all his glory. I didn't go looking for it so what's your point.

  • How are they being persecuted? Tell me, how? Generally they can go about their business, they're not persecuted at work. They don't go through horrific struggle on a daily basis. Where's the oppression? Yes gay bashing did go on in the past (something that is totally disgusting) but it's been recognized, and the government has done as much as it can do and generally things are fine. These people aren't protesting over something as serious as that, they are throwing their toys out of the pram.

  • Also why is this being pushed so hard? Don't the majority count? you can go as much as you, like about the prop 8 campaign being filled with misconceptions. You're really insulting peoples intelligence with that remark. Do you think people can't think for themselves, and make up their own minds? Also yes, the Lord does forgive sins, once people genuinely repent and turn away from them, he doesn't say promote them and make them legal.

  • Just because the majority rules, doesn't make them right, there was a time when the majority of people though slavery was ok, should we have just left it that way? Or, that the world was flat, to use a less inflammatory analogy, should we have just said, that's that, and not try to progress as a society? They are trying to change the majority's mindset, some of the group is going about it the wrong way. I'm not insulting their intelligence, I'm providing them with more information, which they

  • can then decide from. And I have a hard time believing there are gay people on the street where you go shopping every weekend are flashing people. There are many places to shop, if you don't like it, report them to the police for lewd conduct in public, and take your children elsewhere. If they were being indecent they will be punished by the law. If it happened once, that's no reason to turn you fully against gays, if it keeps happening, maybe you should take your shopping to another area?

  • Because, obviously the laws that were put in place to stop lewd displays in public are either not strong enough to stop them, or your in an area that supports the plight of gays. If anybody was performing a lewd act in conduct, wouldn't you take your children away, and call the police to have them taken care of? And if the police stopped doing anything, wouldn't you stop going to such a despicable place, whether you liked the area, or not?

  • Oh I've just noticed a comment threw in about the Lord. I wouldn't bring the Lord into this if I was you. You will see how God feels about homosexuality in the bible. God detests sin and can't look at men when they are black with it. That's why Jesus died on the cross, because we couldn't save ourselves. If someone genuinely repents of homosexuality. They can be saved, if they flaunt it or you back it up, which in Gods eyes is just is bad. God just sees black and will show his wrath.

  • The Omnipotent Lord who let us obtain original sin by letting us have free will, and then used the holy spirit, which is him, to impregnate Mary with his holy power, who gave birth to his son, which is also himself, who then made himself be sacrificed to himself, to convince himself, to forgive us of what he condemned us with? Those actions make perfect sense for an omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent being. For somebody who knows everything, he sure holds his grudges.

  • Ok, whatever, I give up. This is getting us nowhere. I won't be able to convince you that it is wrong to prevent people to get married, because you think it corrupts the children. And you won't be able to convince me that it corrupts children, and that is the heart of the matter. We will dance circles around this for hours, days, just exchanging comments, and get nowhere. We won't convince anyone this way, as most people here are already divided. I give up, I have more important things to do.

  • Oh it gets even better, now your twisting my words and accusing me of being a liar. I never said that gays stand around my town flashing. I said that there was one incident. Oh and why should a law abiding citizen stay out of the town she lived in for 33 years to allow for someone who is breaking the law? Like I said this was in the middle of Belfast so how do you avoid it? Oh the laws where put in place to stop lewd displays? cont...

  • What!!!!! Oh please. What makes cyllid so right and the majority so wrong? Have you ever thought of that. Educating people? Give me a break. Your patronizing is legendary. Here we go with the slavery comparison again. There is absolutely no comparison. It's an insult to suggest that a few gays throwing their toys out of the pram is anything like what happened in slavery.

  • hehe, legendary, I'm flattered.

  • Wow your an angry hate filled person.

  • What!!!! How do you work that one out. Hate filled? Maybe in your part of America your over sensitive. Maybe you misunderstand the cultural difference with me being Irish and, how we do things different. Or maybe your wanting me to rise to your provocation of calling me hate filled. Whatever. I think I will go for the latter. However, I will not rise to it anymore because your just wanting to win an argument and trail me into a war of words. Who's hate filled now, very mature.

  • Hehe, you caught on. Since my uncle is Irish, i do understand how very serious Christianity is. He drove around for 4 hours in Italy, to find a sermon, and took the entire family with him. Compared to the majority of wish-washy Christians we have here, you are very passionate.

  • I think I'm supposed to take that as a compliment lol. I want to thank you for seeing the funny side. I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one but as a Christian I have to tell you that the Lords sacrifice is sufficient. If you repent, and sincerely pray to the Lord he can save you, like he did me. I don't say that to single you out. We are all sinners saved by grace and I pray that you will find the Lords divine Love, grace and mercy. God Bless

  • The passionate part? Yes, there's nothing wrong about being passionate in what you believe. Anybody who gets mad at somebody because they are passionate about what they believe are weak in their own convictions.

Well, I can't really say I'll pray for you, cuz, yeah...

But, hopefully your god will bless you, and let your children grow up well.

  • cont...but sure you opposed me saying that laws were put in place to stop gay bashing and that it wasn't enough. So it's ok if you're gay and it's not ok if you're a law abiding citizen with 3 children? laws are put in place, so I have to put up with it but if you're gay throw your rights down every ones throat. Yeah right. Progress as a society? what!!! Lets just put our bits were we please and make it legal? Becoming more like animals doesn't progress us as a society.

  • thank you

  • Sorry I misread your comment, but I will say that there is a lot of gay rights activists comparing themselves also to black people being persecuted not just christians. I would love to know how they can compare. Gays are allowed to vote, they don't have to use separate bathrooms, I could go on. They don't know what persecution is. They are throwing their toys out of the pram because they want to change the meaning of marriage. No comparison to what black people went through.

  • It is a more apt comparison for them being gay, than for the christians to use it for themselves, but yes, I do agree that they should not be using it. But it is true that gay people have been repressed, and treated horribly, for something that they either can help, or cannot help, either way it doesn't really matter. They can't prove they were born gay, just as I cannot prove i was born straight. As long as they are not harming anybody, they should be allowed to express their love.

  • Homophobia is just like racism. It has to be criminalized. Equality and civil rights are non negotiable. Stop persecuting gay people. Their civil rights are being denied.

  • More self-pitying religious nutcases. In Matthew 22:10 the supposed Jesus of Nazareth reportedly warns his followers they will expect hatred, ridicule - and quite right too, because religious people think they can force their intolerant, incoherent poison on everyone else. I have no pity for the Alliance Defense Fund either, whose goal is to recriminalise expression of love between gay people.

In anycase, was that woman hurt? Someone trampled on a cross. Big deal.

  • First "gay marriage"; then teach a homosexual activist agenda in public schools and force America to pay for it at the expense of our children. How does "your gay marriage" affect me? I and my children are forced to be "tolerant" or harrassed for "hate speech". Where is the tolerance toward the 30 plus states that have overwhelmingly passed the true definition of marriage through the vote of the people? If it wasn't for activist judges, thwarting the will of the people, we wouldn't be here!

  • It's MY tax dollars that are paying for your childern in school, so I should have a say in what is being taught. The rights of a minority should never be up for a vote. That's why judges have to step in to enforce the equal rights established by the constitution. We will no longer ignore the constitution like we have the last 8 years.

    Civil rights for all!

  • Well said.

  • You've been watching the Mormon Prop 8 ads, haven't you?

Marriage is a union of love. Christians don't lay claim to marriage. Couples have been joining in marriage long before Christianity was even created. Therefore, it is unfair for Christians to define it.

  • One sided? HA. According to this video there is real violence in these anti prop 8 people evidenced by their forcibly taking the cross out of the old lady's grasp. Just think what would have happened had there not been a newscast team on hand? There's no mistake or one sidedness here. There should be a law to protect against haters such as these...a law to protect heterosexuals from hate crime by homosexual thugs such as on these videos.

  • yeah let's campaign for a law to protect FOAM CROSSES from evil queers!

  • No, there was no name calling and prop 8 was conducted in a respectful manner to define marriage as between one man and one woman as intended by God. The people have spoken not only in California but in many other states. Respect that

  • The big problem with that statement is that the laws of this country are not determined by a god, Christian or otherwise. Take a look at the constitution. There is *supposed* to be a separation of church and state. That, like many other statements in the constitution has been raped. Churches get tax breaks, can fund political propositions, and apparently can makes laws based on their beliefs. It doesn't matter if every Christian in the US says yes to Prop 8. It's wrong.

  • The homosexual bigots with their anger have a single goal: make their perverse lifestyle normative. Well, it isn't. It is a perversion of nature. They are blinded by their sickness, and have converted the impressionable and weak-minded through force and intimidation. They are sad, pathetic zombies who live in darkness and prey on the innocent.

  • Actually, homosexuality is present in certain kinds of apes (bonobos, pigmy chimps, etc.) and dolphins as well. While an interesting anomaly, it shows that homosexuality is not, in fact, a perversion of nature. Your point is moot.

I am also positive that gays don't want to "convert" everyone to being gay. That's ridiculous. They want bigots, like you, to stop hating them for something that is out of their control. They love who they love, and there is nothing malicious about their love.

  • 1. Dogs sniff each other's anuses, too. That doesn't mean humans do the same as a consisten act of nature within our specieis, so your first argument is a fallacy.

    2. I wasn't remarking on homosexuals converting others to their lifestyle. I was addressing their insistent demand that others accept their view that homosexuality is normative, which it clearly is not and never has been. It has always been a social abberation.

    Thank you for your comments.

  • iritegud and some folks have the heads WAY UP their anuses too. and even their brains. does that mean i have to respect these folks for being so stupid and justifying themselves as they hide behind bibles and crosses??!! NO!

  • ad hominem and Christian bashing. yawn.

  • i am a christian. and bashing christians would mean that i would be bashing myself which would be masochistic. you sir are a bible-thumper, not to be confused with a christian.

  • more ad hominem. if indeed you are a Christian, you are the reason Christians are so misunderstood. Read your coments to me and tell me how you feel you are carrying out Christ's instructions. Then go read your Bible. Love, Thumper

  • why would I be the reason christians are MISUNDERSTOOD?? because i don't pass value judgments,or make some sort of self-righteous condemnation of things I personally don't approve of and hide behind children,or fictious families,or the bible or a cross.

  • the only judge is GOD! not me .....or YOU!

  • You are passing value judgments and exposing youself as a hypocrite. You condemn Christians who proudly announce their faith. A Christian doesn't "hide" behind the Bible. You seem embarrassed to be a Christian, and much too hostile. You seem to be hiding the Bible from yourself and others. Do you repsect God's Word? Then back away, and make it primary, not incidental, to your life. Proclaim it to all nations. That's Christ's instruction.

  • a bible-thumper is a self-appointed,self-righteous prig who thinks he (or she) is doing god a big favor by being being so judgemental and says the bible lets me be so.they like to be heard and seen by any and every one. they attack what they PERSONALLY don't like to see or hear, and hide behind things in order to justify their words, and themselves. a CHRISTIAN just lives the life and teaches indirectly, simply by quiet example.

  • please define christian.

  • Homosexuality has been observed in nature amongst various species. Dimwhit. And if you believe that a book is a gateway to the invisible magic man then obviously you are the one with mental problems.

  • yawn. more anti-religion bigotry, ad hominem. Can't you sad creatures sing a different song? Listen, animals don't get married, so if nature is your guidepost, follow the signs and give up your prop 8 tantrums. Animals murder, they walk around naked and they don't write books or drive cars, so don't lecture me about nature. God gave humans the power of reason to control nature, not to behave like animals. Deny your spirituality, glorify your sexuality, and see where that leads you.

  • It leads to a better tomorrow, that's where it leads. Religion only makes us take steps back. On the topic, this is strickly a religious one because you impose your morals on every one elses. And the little show you're putting on (yawn. ad hominem ad hominem ad hominem) is really not helping your case. Fact; Not everyone is Christian! Get used to it.

  • I'm imposing my morals on you?? Are you serious? You're imposing your lack of morals on me and my children. Your religion is your penis. My religion promises hope to everyone. Your religion promises nothing. Take it to the grave. I hope it serves you well.

  • So it's okay for monkeys to be gay but not humans? I'm missing the purpose of your dog sniffing comment.

  • Monkeys are gay? Who knew? Save a gay monkey! Monkeys are not gay. But imagine that monkeys could drive a car, read a book or invent the internet. Then perhaps your moral equivalency argument would fly. Humans have been given the power of reason to distinguish themselves from monkeys. Allowing yourself to be enslaved by your base desires rather than uplifted by your spiritual promise makes you an animal. Are you gay? Perhaps you are a monkey.

  • I love how you drop the discussion you had with me and go into a whole new direction without proving a single statement you've made. It's simple biology you do not understand. At the basics, we ARE apes. Therefore apres CAN drive a car etc etc. What proof do you have to say that there aren't any gay individuals in certain primate species? None. Where-as we have already more than enough evidence from observations and biological studies to say otherwise. Spread your hate somewhere else.

  • I must not have been challenged by your comments. Sorry. Spread your hate somewhere else? I love you. *You* hate me. Right? I'm a Christian. You hate me. But I love you and I want to bring you to a beautiful place. A place where love abides.

  • You "love" gay people so much you don't want them to have the same rights as you do?

  • Like animals seem to howling when they shout, God have mercy on their souls while they may have life.

  • Like are doing in California with Prop 8, the people voting in favor, but they are going to force the door of the supreme court.

That kind of blindness is ...Intolerance

  • Genesis 19:9-11

But they said, "Stand back!" And they said, "This fellow came to sojourn, and he has become the judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them." Then they pressed hard against the man Lot, and drew near to break the door down. But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them and shut the door. And they struck with blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house...

    Get Ready to Defense

  • and here is my question to you;when the men of sodom went to lots house and demanded that lot give them the angels of god "to get to know them" why was he willing to sacrifice his "daughters"?? why wasn't he willing to sacrifice HIMSELF? after all,the men of sodom were gay,as you would point out.and the only male member of lots family was lot himself.

  • and if lot "knew after the war of the kings in genesis14",that the MEN OF SODOM WERE "SEXUALLY PERVERSE",why did he return to sodom??

  • It doesn't matter anyway. Legal gay marriage is not a question of religious ethic. It's law. And people need to start realizing that. Law should not be based on someone's religious belief.

  • "Demanding that their agenda be imposed on everybody." Don't be ridiculous! Nobody's imposing their marriage on you. If you don't approve of gay marriage, then don't get married to a person of the same sex. Say whatever you want, but do NOT take away other people's rights. How unchristian is that!

  • Drew - you moderate christians are going to have to make your voices heard more. It's the extremists like ASD, Focus on the Family, people wanting Creationism taught in schools who make all the noise, who are defining Christianity. Young people in the USA are walking away from organised religion in droves - and the reason is precisely the kind of intolerant, bigotry. Who needs Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens when the likes of ASD put people off religion for life anyway?

  • Nope. That is not what tolerance looks like. What you are seeing is a group who is done being oppressed by religious bigots. And they are not going to take it any more. You attached the equal rights of that group. You are getting what you deserve and its not going to stop. Even after prop8 is overturned tolerance of your religious bigotry has come to an end.

  • attacked not attched

  • Times are changing, hopefully soon religion won't be the cause of deaths and wars. This is only the start.

  • gay peoples. if two mature, consensual, responsible, committed people want to get married, that should be their right

  • why only 2? why must they be "mature, consensual, responsible, committed people"? is that not discriminatory?

  • merrian-webster: the institution whereby individuals are joined in a marriage

  • I don't support violence or intimidation. Christianity has been stigmatizing homosexuality for 2000 yrs. How many gay people have been brutalized because of what Christians preach?

  • great video
