There aren't to many more things you can do that are more of an addrenaline rush than following minutes behind a big ass bear (it's track was as big as my hand fully spread) through a marsh full of heavy underbrush with nothing more than a revolver in your hand. Never did find that bear, mostly because at one point during the chase I went "I'm just not going in there behind it". But damn it was fun.
@chios1958 do you have a dremel tool? if not get one its a hobby level gunsmiths best friend. look on the inside of the rings it may have lumpy pretruding areas, ruger didnt take the time to lap the rings or smooth over the inside to keep the over all price of the revolver down. but the inside surfaces of the rings need to to be smoothed out for a good contact area on the inside of the rings so it holds the scope. use oil on friction areas of the screws. this will let screws get tighter
@ChurchInAshes hunting with a revolver, handgun is a challenge. Here in Florida the udergrowth is thick. when your walking through the woods, or sitting down close to a game trail, or sitting by a feeder, shots taken are rarely past 50 yrds. 50 yrs with my 30-06 Ruger M77 rifle is nowhere near a challenge. With a handgun its challenging
@zboyco thanks! My reloading data says 2600fps with a 45gr bullet. some of the newer powders can push it to 2800 fps. acording to hodgon's reloading data center.
I seen a guy at the range with 30-30 contender 10 inch barrel the blast from it was insane lol. the hornet isnt that bad its pretty tame.

Pistols are more expensive then rifles and muzzle loaders? It seems fun and all but the price is just crazy.
