  • wow. seen just about every family guy episode but never noticed this song on there. I just have always loved Paul Simon.

  • SOMEONE please use this for an Aladdin AMV

  • Class song i love it

  • 17 years old now....Didnt get here through Family Guy....What episode was it?

  • We played this my freshmen year of college in basketball band. Family Guy just reminded me.

  • FINALLY! I have been searching for this song for ages! I came across this because of my dad and VH1 Classics.

    Epic song.

  • Thumbs up if The Office brought you here!

  • Nostalgia...

  • This song makes me smile when i hear it, it used to be my favorite song when i was little :3

  • Whenever I'm in class and I see the abbreviations for aluminum or Alabama, I think of this song. :P

  • I like this song ;)

  • You suck!

  • Family Guy fucking sucks. Anything Seth Mcfarlane puts together is not funny nor remotely entertaining. The 1st season or 2 of Family Guy was worth watching but now it's unbearable. Family Guy doesn't even deserve to be used in the same sentence of a great paul simon song such as this.

  • @erislaton Go die

  • @erislaton Paul Simon loves Family Guy.

  • @derlich09 That would probably explain why Garfunkel won't collaborate with him anymore.

  • 50 people don't want to call him al

  • @15CUJO yup it was super creepy. i had nightmare about that too.

  • gooder, no commas, xD, thx; who cares?

  • declan deegan add me on facebook i sniff ecstacy mmmmmmmmmmmmm oh and im from dublin

  • My Navy brothers that were so kind and so wise to a poor lonely baker.....love follows you.

  • I have a tuba solo in this song 3333

  • wow...why does it take an episode of Family Guy for people to know good music like this??

  • @MrKevwatts I loved it before family guy.... and then loved it more after family guy lol!

  • @MrKevwatts I knew this WAAAY before I knew Family Guy, mostly because my grandma listens to WEBE 108 all the time in her car

  • @MrKevwatts Like when I was 11

  • thumbs up of phone sax brought you here

  • Family Guy?

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • family guy brought me here

  • @lildizzy669 likewise! phone sax lead me to Mr. Rhyming Simon!

  • you can call paul simon al

  • Haha family guy strikes again with a classic

  • hearing lois play this tune with her vagina was quite disturbing

  • @15CUJO ... Of course.

  • @Astrosimi although it was quite impressive as well

  • @15CUJO

I cant remember what Peter Griffin said after but I remember that being even more disturbing!

  • @15CUJO Call me slow, but I don't get it.

  • @veenig on an episode of Family Guy, Lois was playing this tune "Call me Al" with her vagina using a Saxaphone(I believe it was).

  • Wow, i'm surprised by the fact that all the "OMG I HEARD IT ON FAMILY GUY" comments haven't started rolling in

  • they don't shortened that musical interlude with the piccolo for my marching band version of this song!

  • im still listening to this song

  • I was brought her by Andy Bernard's acapella version of this song

  • i've never ment a Betty

  • when i was a kid watching the video i used to think chevy chase sang this song

  • This is the first rap song ever..he's definitely not singing! Too bad it's better then most of the crap people play these days

  • @BlueHeartFam Bob Dylan probably "invented" rap a bit earlier than this with songs like "Subterranean Homesick Blues." Still, I enjoy Graceland and most everything Paul Simon has done just as much. :)

  • @jaymum23 I'd say Gill Scott Heron invented rap.

  • @KantorekBaumerB14 i would completely agree with you.

  • I can't tell if he's singing or talking in the verses. I love it. :)

  • my dads name is al and i heard him listening to this the i thought it was catchy so now i have just been listening to this 24 7 :D

  • What I stupidly forgot to mention above is..that there would be no contemporary music without black music..blues,soul.and the best foundation ever!!

  • @hollyjii

    blues is my favourite ;)

  • 3:42 bass solo!

  • Use to listen to Paul Simon in my dads truck with him when I was little. I can remember listening to this song with him like it was yesterday :(

  • I'm going to try to impress everyone by telling them how young I am and mentioning how much I like this song, despite my age... I'm guessing it will impress the shit out of everyone as I had hoped...

  • @BurnZitiify You all suck major balls.

When a kid points out their age in conjunction with their fondness for older music, all they're trying to do is tell the rest of us that the music from older times is not lost, and they are happy to report it continues to touch some in newer generations, way past the peak of these times.

    Get a fucking grip assholes.

  • whenever i hear the very beginning of this song, i am for some reason reminded of richard simmons

  • One of the strangest and most unique songs I have heard... Brilliant

  • Music can be Good and Bad, its just fact. Yeas, people have preferences, but if someone was to bang on drums randomly for 2 minutes, you'd tell them to get out if they tried telling you it was good music. Same if someone can;t sing. Paul Simon knows what he's doing when he makes his music. That's what I meant by Truly good. You're 18, surely the mature thing to do would be to accept that when you're younger, you feel proud to have a different taste than everyone else.

  • Heard this on the radio and thought it was ben howard at first. Good song.

  • thumbs up if craigslist brought you here...

  • me and my friends were rocking out to this song in the car!!

  • we play this song as a stand tune in marching band... hahah(:

  • @sweetiepie427 Same here! We stanky-leg during the piccolo solo haha(:

  • @NedthEvilDragon HAHA i love that! our band movves it like bernie:D

  • I'm a teenager and I love Paul Simon! I like him because of my dad :)

  • derbat

  • there is 37 people who do not know real music when they hear it.

  • @leobeth06 i am one of them

  • The album Graceland is absolutely one of the best in History, I'm sure most people here agree. How could people my age resist liking it? Hard for me to understand, did their Dad's never teach them what good music is on the long trips in the car?

  • Happy Birthday Paul Simon (October 13)

  • lol all of you are so juiced you know this song, you should be born knowing this song... if your a real fan you shouldnt be listening on youtube.

  • @IntoMotionBC you're listening on youtube too -_-

  • All threats aside, when a man decides to walk, he never looks back.

    Led Zeppelin- Stairway to Heaven

  • Rußland thanks for the Lennon video a year ago. Unfortunately all your further attempts to communicate have been prohibited. But, nevertheless, I know. I'm nobody's fool.

  • I love those comments where kids of this generation post their age and what not. Be proud of that. There's still hope : ) You are the difference in this generation, something there isnt much of.

  • I love this song and album. Paul SImon's a musical legend. xx

  • guys im black i thinck this music is gooder then all the crap my niggas listen to its just not as try hard i mean they just listen to it to be cool they dont undrestand thet u dont have to lisetn to ur sterio typed music to fit in xD thx for lisenting

  • @KhalidMuhijadeen Yeah Im black and I hate that rap crap and people hate on me for it but i just say screw them

  • @KhalidMuhijadeen your dramatical grammar errors and profound language kinda threw me off of lol but I agree none the less

  • @KhalidMuhijadeen gooder?

  • totally get what ur saying man

  • ccfcrule says : "Ugh the comments annoy me. Same as every Beatles song. (I take it this is a comment he/she read) "I'm only 14 and I love this song" Do you want a medal? I'm 18 but a songs a song, you shouldn't get credit if you're a teen and are not a rap whore!

So in essence if you are a "rap whore" (self-styled) then you CAN get credit! Re-eeh-ehh-ehh-eeeeeeaaaaaaallllllllyyyyyyy ( my best written Jim Carey impression). Bravo. <3

  • @tinjam

    you are stupid

  • @tinjam love your Jim Carey impression - and it works well too: I recognized it before I read the part where you explain what you just did. Still, I am with @ccfcrule when he speaks ill of certain posts. Prolly an age thing.

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!! REMINDS ME OF YEARS AGO!

  • Does al gore use a heater in the winter?

  • Al Gore. Betty Thomas. A "roly- poly little bat-faced girl" was Monica Lewsinsky. And more. Written in 1984 for the Clinton yrs. Interesting.

  • I pantsed a girl and then fisted her once

  • i like this

  • I've heard this song so many times, but only realised today it was Paul Simon. Legend.

  • most nostalgic song ever

  • My hole is tight, please put some butter in there

  • Do you like this song? That was a rhetorical question, and 31 people didnt realize that.

  • My top LOUD song. Every time I hear it on the radio, I have to turn it up as loud as I can.

  • @userexists123 Reckon it's a god thing for you neighbors that no one has introduced you to Hendrix

  • I listen to Rap hip hop and pop but DANG this song is awesome

  • i know this is 80s but cant beat this song good tune

  • Thumbs up if you touch yourself to this song.

  • I'm 10 and i love this song! I hate justin bieber. My daddy likes justin bieber. He's silly.

  • @hvdw777 That sounds like quite the role reversal.

  • @hvdw777 LOL!

  • @hvdw777 ur dad must be gay...

  • <3 this :)

  • Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon have got to be my favorite three songwriters. (And of course, if we're talking about favorite artists/bands/duos etc.) then I'd still say my top three are Cash, Dylan, and Simon & Garfunkel (solo and together).

  • MASTERPIECEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You can call me Ray, and you can call me Al! Wait, fuck...

  • i love this song i didnt know it until my sis put it on in the car now i absolutley love it to bits i cant get out of my head

  • wow this song reminds me of being in my dads van being 12

  • rebecca black must be the roly poly bat faced girl

  • Junior year of high school we were supposed to play this in our marching band field show. I spend some quality time learning that little flute part, and then the director up and decides NO we're not going to do field show this year or any year after! I can't tell you how many people were angry with him.

  • love it

  • The bass in this is just killer

  • ahh memories

  • BUT AL'S NOT YOUR NAME.

    Freak.

  • good song

  • I don't know-this song can grow on you. But so can fungus.

  • Like With big letters! I can only say that this song is 100% true song so good!! XD

  • Ugh the comments annoy me same as every eatles son "im only 14 and i love tgis song" do you want a medal im 18 but a songs a song you shouldnt get credit if youre a teen and aint a rap whore

  • @ccfcrule don't be a dick. By stating their ages they're just demonstrating how timeless and ageless Paul Simon's musc is. Its a compliment to the artist not an effort to receive a medal. Grow up.

  • @ccfcrule I sense the beginning of a new trend.

  • @ccfcrule i know what you mean. what the fuck do they want a blue peter badge?

  • Well ccfcrule. Why do you even get annoyed because of something that a 14 years old are writing? Why?

I'm 13 years old, and I come from Sweden. Ah, ah? Do I annoy you even more? Aaaah?

  • @colorsmile98 What annoys me is that I don't understand what you mean by all the "Aah"s in your comment. Is that some Swedish interjection? Don't hate the Swedes though: I root for their ice hockey team during every world cup: I like the colors of their jerseys. All that yellow just looks good on the ice.

  • @MsStaffsergeant Umm.. thanks? Haha. And "ah ah?", is ..hmm the same as .. I don't know. It's just something that makes other people annoyed ;). When you think the other person's wrong and you're like "Haha, I was right, I was right. Ah ah? = right, right?".

  • @ccfcrule You really should go back to school and take English, and pass it. Your grammer is disgusting to the eyes.

  • @lovefromottawa

So is your spelling of the word GRAMMAR.

  • @TheMythTheMagic Like this come back. Mostly because of the irony of someone getting the word grammar wrong, while ranting about someone's grammar. Still, someone had to call him/her on it. So, thanks for seeing to it.

  • @ccfcrule omg, you're 18? cool story bro

  • @ccfcrule You raise an interesting point. I have thought about those posts that mention age as a reason for praise too. They seem to pop out everywhere all of a sudden. Latest craze perhaps, perhaps something more sinister. I'll just listen to the song one more time.

  • @ccfcrule Well, what it means is that the generation who loves songs like these is not dead. If young people continue liking songs from before their time, it means those songs can live on.

  • Best....Song....Ever.

  • this came on the radio today, after i found out my friend had died

  • That bass solo is so dirty I had to flag it as inappropriate!

  • @colinsprague1 Yeah, really! It sounds like somebody turned on a high pressure waterhose and the fireman is struggling to bring it under control! *sick* skill!

  • @colinsprague1 Fun fact - the second half of the bass solo is identical to the first half, only played backwards on the recording.

  • @colinsprague1

That bass solo is reversed halfway, its made in a studio. :-)

I once saw a documentary about how this song was made.

  • paul simon,,,your the best....call me al,,,,nice song.

  • Art Garfunkel disliked this 24 times
