Obama got Gadhafi, Osama & ended the Iraq war! I believe Barack Obama will continue to influence the world to work together for progress like never before. In my own way, For Obama 2012, I'm inviting Occupy Wall Street & everyone in the world to be in my Obama Supporters Videos/ Song of celebrities, people of places named after Obama & Obama supporters posting a video of themselves singing the chorus of Obama For The World (world's Obama tribute song)! For Obama's change & America's freedom!
Perhaps if any of the members were under 40 and knew how to use a macbook, the ad would be a little better. Taxed enough already? Taxes are lower than they've been in years. Limited government? Bush tapped our phone calls. Don't vote for a party? Every damn tea party candidate runs as a republican and 99.9% of the time votes republican. What a bunch of jokes..
I can make out the image of a young boy, his brow furrowed in confusion, holding the hand of his father. "Who are they, Daddy?" he asks as hearses containing bloated, lifeless bodies roll by. "Who are those people they speak of?" The father will lower his head and say, "There, my son, go the remains of tea-baggers, the most homophobic, racist, bigoted, hypocritical lumps of festering dog shit in the history of America. May the likes of them never again soil or tarnish our great country."
@dosad You fucking idiot my point is that climate change is simple science. Your desensitized party only believes what it wants to hear and any opposing ideas are just an inconvenience that you brush off your shoulders like dust. What numbers do you have to prove that climate change doesn't exist? That the universe isn't 12 billion years old? That the extent of our world does not end at the sun? The magic thing called SCIENCE can produce real numbers and facts, and what do you have to show?
@DeepSouth16 here's a statistic for you: Since 2006 the percentage of people who think climate change is real went from 79% to 59%. Want to know why? BECAUSE OF DUMBASSES LIKE YOU. And also FOX news, propaganda and the desensitization that brainwashes idiots like you into believing what you want to hear. Oh I'm sorry, did I use too many big words for you to handle?
@SexyVeloChick youre the brainwashed idiot. science isnt consensus. probably too young to remember Time mag in the late '70s promoting the coming ice age . what are you 12.
@dosad1 Tech. anytime there is any ice on the Earth, we are in an Ice Age. Do you not agree that Humans are doing things to the planet that have never been done to it since its formation 4.5 billion years ago? I concur that there are things that happen naturally- and have done so for billions of years. but what is not natural is all the added pollution we are causing- trash-factories-burnning fuels and so on... all things the earth has never had to deal with. MY guess is these are bad things.
@mastro82mp i agree we are having an effect upon this planet. trash and unbridled pollution hurts my heart. however, emotional reactives that cause unnecessary hardships to our lives are at this point more destructive to our growth , prosperity and freedom. science instead of agenda should drive the debate. for instance, despite commercial pollutants, today, we have cleaner water air and food for consumption than ever before. check out how much pollution mother nature puts out compared to us
@dosad1 Its great that the trash and pollution "hurts your heart" but there are millions of people out there that are living with cancer, and other life-threatning deceases out there because of polluted ground water, polluted air, eating fish with mercury in it, I could go on. Not sure how regulating a company to not put pollutants in the ground is going to affect anyones freedom. I agree, the water and air is getting better and has been doing so thanks to the EPA.
@dosad1 Also, I agree, the Earth does put out a lot of pollution. Natural Pollution that it made, and has been doing so for 4.5 billion years, and knows how to handle itself with it. In the last 200 years we've covered this planet with asphalt, dumped millions and millions of oil in its waters and on its land, dumped trash the size of texas that is still floating around the ocean, made products that will never ever break down, dug up and burnt stuff that the earth never intended us on burning. .
@DeepSouth16 Wow fuck you. Climate change doesn't go into effect overnight you fucking idiot. IT'S A BASIC SCIENCE EXPERIMENT. You know what's sad is that my friend tested the effects of greenhouse gases in THE FIFTH GRADE and guess what, holy shit, it worked!!! It's a phenomenon that you dumbass conservatives will never believe. You can thank propaganda from the conservatives and oil companies for that.
@SexyVeloChick wow, fifth graders proved it true huh? well then....hm, not really a scientist are you. but you havent heard of the 30,000 scientists who signed a petition against global warming have you. look it up.
weak misleading ad to support a party that is already bought and sold by the people they originally set out to decry. the Tea party instead of being a force for change and democracy has become a puppet voice for the standard "this is my christian country" that would subjugate anyone with a differing view. This is not the party that I want representing my diverse family. $ does not belong in politics, but neither does religion. We have already had one to many dark ages.
The Tea Party still offers opposition to ESTABLISHMENT Republicans (aka neo-cons--the ones you complain about) who prove this with their constant unease and distancing of themselves from the TP.
"Bought and sold"? The TP is still for small federal government and low taxes. If they're "sold out," what has changed?
Opposition to Gay Marriage has a Constitutional basis irrespective of religion. You're just drinking the Kool Aid on the left's distorted interpretation of the issue.
Did you look for the ugliest and dumbest looking people for this ad? This is NOT what the group of Tea Party members I hang with, look like. This is like a slap in our face! You surely could send a stronger message than this! You people are a joke..makes me question the your loyalty..maybe you should be pushing support for the other side. This ad sure looks like you want to embarrass the T-party. Very weak and stupid. Try again.
The problem with the tea party is that it got co-opted by social conservatives, status quo Republicans, and neo-conservatives. These groups want big government too. Just their version of big government. The tea party should have stuck with the ideals of ending corporate welfare and limiting the size and power of government. Instead we have ended up with a pro war (big government), pro Patriot Act (big government/surveillance state), based on the fear factory of DC and media.
The Tea Party go "co-opted"? How is that possible when the TP has no leader or platform? Seems that the message has not changed.
They ARE "sticking with" the original ideal of small government / anti-corporatism. Instead of bitching, keep adding your voice for them to go further. The TP is YOU!
99% of "Social Conservatives" are not a threat to freedom. If you're talking about gay marriage or abortion, those are legitimate Constitutional issues totally irrespective of religion.
@UncleIrv Nope. This isn't about social issues. But most Social Conservatives are allied with Neo-Cons and neither are small government advocates. They just want big government their way. Both largely support the TARP loving Federal Reserve advocate Herman Cain. And LISTEN to Cain. He does not want to shut down wasteful government agencies. Except for the EPA, Cain only wants to "fix" those Agencies. EVERY big government promoter says that.
I agree about the problem with "most" Social Conservatives. The solution is to get them to realize that SMALL government is a better way to protect their values, which they see as threatened.
To call Herman Cain "TARP loving" is WAY over the top. His view of TARP was reasonable. He did NOT support the Corporatist way Obama implemented it. He supported an ACROSS THE BOARD, TEMPORARY stabilization of toxic assets.
I don't believe Cain has RULED OUT further cuts of federal agencies.
@UncleIrv Disagree. Cain favored a bailout of the Banks which violated free market principles. This was less than a month after he claimed the economy was a "Cinderella economy". He opposed an full audit of the Fed. The Fed was the real bailout. That's how TARP got repaid. He favored that too. As far as Cain not ruling out "further cuts of federal agencies? If he's conservative he should be ruling them in. He isn't. He's a big government guy. .and crony capitalist.
Cain didn't favor a "bailout of banks." He favored "redeeming" the toxic assets so that the economy--a lot of innocent people--would not TAKE THE HIT of their default. But he DID NOT favor doing this is any way that individual banks would profit. He certainly didn't favor JUST HANDING OUT CASH, as was done.
See, you're just a Ron Paul wacko that thinks polemically. You are incapable of nuance. That's why you make OVER THE TOP statements.
@UncleIrv You are misinformed. Depositors are covered by FDIC. People that buy stocks or bonds take risks. Higher return for the risk. Called: "capitalism". .In this case, the stock holders would have been wiped out. Bondholders would have received the remaining equity in the corporation when it emerged from bankruptcy. Clean balance sheets . recapitalization from investors. Lending follows. Instead we have zombie banks. And no lending. Cain people seem angry. BTW MS in economics
There's a difference between allowing BANKS to go into default, and allowing ASSETS (the actual financial products) to default.
Yes, since you're referring BANKS, I do agree it did violate free market principles. But I think there was a legitimate case for giving the ASSETS a chance to redeem some value.
My understanding is that Cain was for the later and not the former. If you have documented proof otherwise, please share.
I still think you're terminology was "over the top."
@UncleIrv I didn't call you or Cain a "wacko", so....regarding your claiming the assets needed to have a chance to redeem themselves? No. Currently still marked to fantasy. That's the problem. They are impairing the recovery. In a secular decline, drastic declines in investments form a springboard for recovery.. Latest secular decline has been made deeper because of previous interventions Misallocation of resources are made worse by delay in liquidation. Zombie economy. Japan.
LOL. Good point. But then I truly believe an unfortunate number of Ron Paul followers are wackos. And this comes from a guy who 90% agrees with Paul.
I do not deny your argument is legitimate--in fact, STRONG. But my point is that Cain's position was also at least "legitimate"--even if it was ultimately wrong.
See, my issue is with people who promote wacko-isms like "Cain is a Bilderberg whore" (sorry if that's not you). He's not perfect. But he may be the best VIABLE option.
@UncleIrv There will always be people in large dedicated movements that are "out there". Cain has more than his share. What I don't like about Cain is that he has been consistently incorrect of the economy, was a supporter of disastrous Greenspan's policies, and made excuses for the Bush big government. = Keynesian, interventionist and big government. That dominance in Keynesian economic theory has ruined the US economy...... Dr Sargent got the Nobel!!
I agree with you 100% on all that. Sorry I made assumptions about you in the beginning.
OTOH, what I like about Cain is that he's not going to hesitate to get right in Obama's face and call him out. And I believe he's sincere about lowering taxes and regulation. I'd trust the Tea Partiers to keep him honest on other issues.
Romney is as big a neo-con liberal-appeaser as Bush was. And Perry is a new convert to Conservatism, weak on many issues and without a deep ideological base.
too bad if you tea party members hold a gov't job, the republicans are swatting your asses like flies. Yes, your beloved GOP is cutting funding and jobs of teachers, police officers, firefighters, postal workers. All to show that Obama isnt creating jobs. All the while not passing the Jobs Bill. Bet you guys feel stupid as fuck for believing FOX news. Cause they sure as hell not gonna cover that. All they want are tax cuts for the rich, which most repubs SUPPORT. WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!!
Oh and by the way, don't you dare call me a gullible dumbass. I know my shit. Give me one good example of something we "conning scheming liberals" seem to ignore in your little pea sized brain. Grow up. Stop believing everything Bill O'Rielly says and wake up to reality.
@wogdoggy Not sure what the fuck you're talking about or what you've been smoking but get off it. This is exactly what I'm talking about. People like you don't want to believe that climate change is caused by man because you don't want to get off your lazy ass and do something about it. Thousands of scientists have all agreed that the greenhouse effect exists. Please don't tell me you agree with dipshit Palin who claims the change in weather is caused by God, the magical man in the sky.
I agree with MrMuscleflexin....this ad is VERY weak! Surly this is not the best we can come up with! We need to show much more diversification in the people that represent us and perhaps in thier nurse's uniforms, in the classroom, or doing some other useful activity. This ad is somewhat of an embarassment in it's lack of content. PLEASE do not air it until it is revised!
I belong to an Email Connector Group which was formed in 1995. The membership is madeup of Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives and Liberals. It's main function is to keep Americans connected to one another via emails. Along with the usual type of emails, the group members send information about the conduct or misconduct of our government. Google: Hogue/Johnny Lee Clary
I agree with Mr Muscle. I am a Tea Party member, but this ad does nothing to convince me that I should want to become a member. The message needs to pierce people in the heart! There's a revolution going on here, people! People are fed up and they want action! This ad is so weak! (It wouldn't hurt to have more attractive actors, either--even younger, to capture a younger audience. Not to sound biased, but that does catch people's attention.)
I'd rather them show slide after slide of the wall street protest thugs along with sound bytes, then simply say "That's not us, but it's sort of flattering that the libs think they are like our group". Once again, in stark contrast, the differences in the mindset between left and right is made abundantly clear. One side standing up to the politicians and moving forward with a plan to fix what's wrong, the other bitchin' & moaning that it's all so unfair that everyone has more than they do.
The Tea Party is not the Occupy Wall Street movement - make no mistake - that movement is about socialism and spreading the wealth. Take care not to be deceived. The Tea Party is about solid moral, conservative Americans who want to preserve the free enterprise system and freedom from government tyranny. It is about We the People and the Constitution. God Bless America!
I agree with MrMuscleflexin - this ad needs work. One of the main misconceptions that the media repeats and late-night comedians joke about is that the Tea Party wants no government or taxes whatsoever. Perhaps that should be addressed stronger, that the Tea Party doesn't want anarchy - it just wants fiscal responsibility and limited government.
@fcondron What most Tea Party members don't realized is that the GOP war/bank machine hijacked the movement. "Occupy Wall Street"people warned not to let their efforts get hijacked (like the GOP hijacked the Tea Party)
@yowowulu and @Rushtrdamus thank you for being some of the few sensible/sane people in this conversation... And @mdbg43 Really? That's sad. Really Really sad. Saying that liberals only believe what they want to hear makes me cry. Conservatives are the ones who deny science and believe things like climate change being a hoax created by scientists for media attention and money. That is really really really sad. Face the facts. Democrats deal with reality, not fantasy.
@SexyVeloChick lol..deny science?..not quite just refuse to play into the energy con..you actually think man can change the weather?.lol.the warming conviently change to CHANGE when the warming pattern broke down? the elimination of recording stations the e-mails to hide the decline?..duh go smoke some more weed mrs reality..gore is a con man just like obama and all liberals..the hoax has been played on dumbass gullible plantationites like you..you like that new word plantionites? I do
Oh wow.... First of all people are only eligible to be president if they are US born citizens, not naturalized citizens. I don't really care about the birth certificate thing, I was just making a point. Even though it was a widespread rumor. FOX news is anything but fair and balanced, they exaggerate everything, and are contradictory of themselves. You can't rely on one news source either. The only way to be educated is to pay attention to multiple news sources, including READING.
@SexyVeloChick The idea that Obama was born in Kenya was actually first coined by democrats, so thats the first problem in your argument. It was a Hillary supporter that suggested that Obama wasn't born in America, and it was actually Fox News that was the first to shoot down this theory. So thats your second problem, Fox News is the only fair and blanced news network on the air, have the highest ratings, and unlike MSNBC's Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow, are always factually correct.......!
Oh and saying that we would go into a depression is a mild exaggeration. I'm not a dumbass. And stop saying drink the Koolaid to everything. That term is offensive. Oh yeah- fuck fuck fuck. And "not a establishment conservitive?" Try learning some grammar. It's "an" not "a".
@Caroln1858 Really?? I'm pretty sure Harvard Law School does not accept just anyone. Which is where Obama went to Grad schoool. I'm pretty sure Perry would never have the brains to survive in a school like that. Why don't you actually do some research instead of believing everything FOX news says? And I'm pretty sure we did see his birth certificate. Like 5 months ago. Oh and the term drink the Koolaide came from the Jonestown massacre. Nice.
@DeepSouth16 Come on man, didn't you know that you are a racist terrorist just like the rest of us that disapprove of obama killing our country? (just own it buddy) LOL! These people will never change...
@DeepSouth16 How do you know the oil rig exploded due to limited regulation? Perhaps someone detonated it. What about the $16 Trillion of Bailout money given to foreign banks without Congressional approval by the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK, which is high treason. What about Quantitative Easing which has caused the dollar to be worth about 1 Cent. What about Barney Frank telling everyone Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were solvent, and then the bubble burst. VOTE RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT!
The Democrat Party is backed by George Soro's, The Communist Party, Socialist Unions, and Drug Dealers, as well as illegal immigrants. Got anything else nice to say about Republicans? I'm actually a Constitution Party member, so go figure! Tea Party is Tax Enough Already...if you don't pay taxes because you have a slum job, and are not responsible enough to get educated and earn a decent wage, don't blame the Tea Party. We're all just ordinary folks too. And stop using the "F" word.
@DeepSouth16 That's because you're a RETARD. Everyone WON'T pay the same, the poor ALREADY pay more in blood to keep this land free. Why can't the rich pay more in money? After all, they rarely participate in wars/defending this country. I mean why is it OK to hide your money when your country needs it but bad to avoid serving during war time? Please try to prove me wrong on this one, PLEASE?
Excuse me? Just keep drinking the Kool-Aide! If a conservative gets into office we'll have a drepression? What do you think is happening now with a Liberal? Can't you see the writing on the wall? Vote for Ron Paul, he's not a establishment conservative, but the real deal. He'll end the nonsense and the insanity causing this entire financial crisis. Sigh! :{
Voices are too weak. They need to be assertive. What is the TEA party? Come on, you can do better than that! Try: The TEA Party stands for -------- and then state your goals.
If Washington is taken over by a conservative president then our recession will surely be on the track to a depression. They don't believe in taxes and therefore millionares and billionares will continue to pay little to no taxes and our economy will never rise out of the toilet.
Mediocrity. That's all I have to say about this. The Republican party is so corrupt. They don't know what they want and their ideal candidates are people like Rick Perry? He's an embarassment not only to that party but to American Politics entirely. Thinking that it's ok to have a representitive who barely passed high school and can't even convey his messages during a debate us ubsurd.
@SexyVeloChick You think Reid isn't senile? You think Obama had good grades in college? We've never seen those grades..you know why? Because he went under another name and received financial aid as a student of Indonesia. Let's see Barack's College transcripts! You'll never see them, just as you'll never see his real Birth Certificate. Stop drinking the Koolaide and smoking weed.
@DeepSouth16 - You're completely correct! Reading the invisible text takes years of learnin'! Of course, i don't need to tell you, you're a genius! :D
Why don't you go have a tea party with your favorite stuffed animal-gops.
When you pull the string, they'll recite your favorite anti-tax/healthcare/education/obama lines.
As a supporter of the Tea Party, I can't express how utterly disappointed I am with this ad. We are never going to win, if we advertise like a used car dealer on a local channel. Why can't we at least do an ad at least as slick what the average loser at "Occupy Wallstreet" could do on his overpriced Mac in 15 minutes? I have never done any video editing at all, but I'm sure I could get do something better than this in two hours of practice.
The Tea Party would not exist without the backing of corporate money and a major news organization. They represent the status quo that has lead to the largest income disparity since the 1920's and conservative Supreme Court judges who think corporations are people and money equals free speech. It's not about the Constitution. It's about who holds power. It's supposed to be the people. The 100%, not the 1%.
@yowowulu1 I pay my own way to all events and everyone I know does the same. We contribute out of our OWN POCKET. I don't think u would know what that is about though!!! Go get George Soros money to support u
@yowowulu1 The Tea Party rose without the backing of corporate money and a major news organization. They represent a return to the small government and sound fiscal policy from before the 1920's, and oppose the ideas that corporations are people and that money equals free speech. It's about the constitution, which was written for 100% of the people, not 51%.
Remember that one time, the housing bubble collapsed due to limited regulation? Remember that one time the oil rig exploded in the gulf due to limited regulation? Remember the time America was put 14 trillion in debt due to a failed economic policy bush hailed as a saving grace? i do. And do you remember the time congress blocked any real progress but instead of seeing that the Republicans blamed the Democrats? I most certainly remember that. I hate both parties BUT LETS GET SOME ACCOUNTABILITY.
@NickOfNaples Then vote for RON PAUL. He's not an establishment politician. He's the real deal. Ron Paul for President website will tell you what he is going to do, and no one else can beat him for honesty and integrity.
@Rushtrdamus Perhaps you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet...Ron Paul is the only honest politician in office right now. The devil be damned. You think Obama is better...go figure.
@NickOfNaples Remember that one time, the housing bubble formed due govt manipulation of loans? Or the oil spill in the gulf they couldn't stop due to regulation against drilling closer to shore, where it was safe? Or the time America was 14 trillion in debt due to a failed economic policy Obama hailed as a saving grace? I do. Remember the time congress blocked any real progress but instead of seeing that the Democrats blamed the Republicans? I hate both parties BUT LETS GET SOME ACCOUNTABILITY.
@Shanockdotcom Hey, remember that time when Reagan blamed Carter for everything that was wrong the entire time he was in office? Remember the time when Obama's economic policy was actually about 99% the same as Bushes with tax cuts for the rich. I remember that the 14 Trillion in debt was actually not all from Obama as you would have made it seem in your comment. Remember those wars bush wanted that cost so damn much? Remember when Obama wanted real health reform but had to settle with a rep. 1.
@Shanockdotcom Fun fact. Our debt is about 45% bush tax cuts, 65% everything else, including the wars and such. The tax cuts themselves suck and Obama, Y YOU EXTEND FAILED TAX POLICY??? As for the oil rig. Where it was safe? The management was atrocious and they blatantly ignored safety regulations to cut costs. Also, I wonder what party the manipulation of loans took place under? (deregulation made this legal) Theres a reason the repubs are known as the party of no. Accountability lets get some
@NickOfNaples Tax cuts don't create debt. Spending more than your income creates debt. Cut spending, and reduced taxes promote prosperity. Bush was wrong because he didn't do both, Obama is wrong because he won't do either. For the oil rig, your question was answered before you asked it. The govt loan manipulation was mostly legislated under Clinton. If repubs have ever been the "party of no," unfortunately they haven't lived up to it. This country would be much better off with more "no"s to BS.
@Shanockdotcom When you're not taking in any money, its difficult to spend it. I'm sorry you believe for a second that reduced spending and tax cuts creates prosperity.Look at hoover, that whole great depression thing? yeah. NOW lets look at FDR, increased taxes AND spending. My point is proven.
@NickOfNaples Here's another way of looking at it: If the government doesn't spend as much money, it doesn't need to take as much from the people. The depression was caused by govt credit-driven expansion of the monetary supply, which caused a boom and bust - much like the '08 housing bubble. Both FDR and Hoover unsuccessfully tried to spend the U.S. out of depression. It only ended after WWII - FDR was dead, spending and taxes were reduced, the economy recovered. Your point is hereby de-proven.
@Shanockdotcom Govt credit driven expansion wasn't the cause of the depression. Ideally that's who we would like to blame, but the rampant consumerism and subsequent bank failures were what really did us in. Peoples money just, disappeared. The fear caused by that on top of the recent stock market crash scared people to stop spending, which stopped stimulating the economy, causing more fear. Our recession was over in FDRs second term. Well before he was dead. In that regard you are simply wrong
@NickOfNaples Don't you realize that your evidence is proving my points for me? Where do you think the "rampant consumerism" came from, if not easy credit? The bank failures are a natural result of a collapsing bubble.
Now, would you have told any American who was on war rationing that the depression was over and that she was prosperous? She would have glanced at her hovel, and either laughed or spat in your face. Argue all you want, the fact is prosperity did not return until after WWII.
@Shanockdotcom Easy credit, gotten from limited regulation from a conservative political stance. It wasn't regulated which led to a massive economic failure. It took time for people to regain confidence in the economy, but the fact remains that the recession ended under FDR. Take your broken ideology somewhere else.
@NickOfNaples The Federal Reserve was created with the power to artificially regulate interest rates. You can only say that credit wasn't regulated if you deny that the Fed existed. And, in fact, such regulation was what created the bubble. Again, like housing policy leading to '08.
Sorry friend, but it makes no sense to call my ideology broken when you have yet to make a valid point, when mine hasn't been implemented, and when your own (Keynesian, I presume) has created so much trouble.
@Shanockdotcom Congratulations, you have a basic understanding of history the interest rate WAS capped, LENDING was not. That still wasn't enough if you have no money to pay out. When the banks collapsed they were like, GIMMIE YOUR MONEYS, YOU OWE US. and the people were like. WE DON'T HAVE ANY MONEYS, YOU TOOK IT ALL WHEN YOU COLLAPSED. And the banks were like WE NEED YOUR MONEYS. and so on and so forth. The FED capped the interest rate, relatively low, however it still wasn't enough.
Guess what..you raise taxes during a recession, who gets hit? The consumer! You notice the price of Gasoline? We're paying the oil companies taxes. You Tax businesses higher, how do they compensate...raise their prices...it hits the consumer, you lose. Herman Cain's idea of 999 is something which could help, but even that isn't enough. I would put a stop to exporting our businesses to China, India, etc. unless it was equal trading across the board. Obama is fueling China's uneven trade.
@caroln1858 BULLSHIT! 999 is just another way of giving the rich more control. You do realize that his plan includes gutting the tax code, right? That means that someone making 15K/year will no longer get Earned income credit AND have to pay a 9% FEDERAL sales tax ON TOP of their state sales tax which where I live is 6%, for a grand total of 15%. A simple(cheap) used car costing 10K would add $900 to an already underpaid person's cost of living, while a rich man will pay less. No WAY
@Rushtrdamus The Federal Sales TAx would only be a Tax for New Cars not used cars. It is only for NEW luxury items. I think you need to go to Herman Cains website and look at what he means by the 999 plan. Gutting the Tax Code isn't a bad idea. You say it helps the rich? Are you self-employed? It would be better than the TAxes we pay if we are self-employed paying State, Federal, Business Taxes, and other Taxes added by every state or city in the union.
@caroln1858 ABSOLUTELY wrong, any used car purchased at a dealer IS taxed again, you retarded dumbass. I just bought one and paid $1200 in sales taxes, so fuck you.
Again, WRONG! Right now, people making less than a certain amount pay NO fed Taxes, under Herman's plan, they would pay 9% on top of state taxes, and the increased sales tax. Basically it would destroy the lives of poor people while making rich people even more rich.
@Rushtrdamus Move to Oregon, we don't have a sales tax, you won't get taxed at all for buying a used car. Don't call me a Dumb Ass just because you're earning $15,000 per year. What do you do for a living? Bus Tables? Honestly, go look for a better job somewhere, anywhere. United Grocers or a Grocery Company, or the Railroad would pay you much better than that. Yes, they're Union. My Dad worked for the Railroad for 35 years and got a decent pension. I bought my car on Craigs List used.
People don't remember what happened on 9/11 and what it did to our economy. The financial bubble was caused from lenders giving money to people who couldn't pay the loan once the 3 or 5 year variable rate ended. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which are US Government owned, caused this problem through bad management practice, fueled by a stagnant economy after 9/11, through grounding planes, grounded travel, cut back economic growth, etc. Bush did what he thought would help..it didn't..now what?
@caroln1858 Again, BULLSHIT, the bubble was cause by people taking out MULTIPLE loans on their homes and/or multiple interest only loans to try to make money. There was also this thing called a MORTGAGE BACKED SECURITY where BANKS bundled loans and sold them to OTHER banks as an investment. DEREGULATION allowed them to skip the process of proper underwriting to ensure the securities were worth what they claimed they were.
You really should educate yourself, Glenn Beck is full of shit.
@Rushtrdamus Your last sentence is very denigrating. Deregulation was meant to fuel an economic boon, but it backfired. Too many people without a clue as to what can happen, but it was predicted by many for quite a few years. Yes, banks like to make money, but the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK has devalued your dollar to 1 Cent per dollar, because of bailouts to every country in the world. $16 Trillion in loans to every country from South Korea to Scotland. What's your solution now?
Bullshit, deregulation is meant to enpower those that want to make more money. It did EXACTLY what it was designed to do, make wealthy people wealthier and poor people even poorer. They not only LOVE making money, they'll kill to do it. Ever hear of "robo-signing"? It's what happened when the banks tried to speed up the foreclosure process, by hiring minimum wage TEMPS to sign LEGAL documents in the place of LAWYER
you guys seem to be forgetting that Bush inherited a budget surplus from Clinton. if you're wondering where the deficit came from, you gotta look at the republicans. also, an "unregulated free market" ideology is what allowed Wall Street to behave irresponsibly and cause the economic crisis we've seen. all Bush era policies. Obama is not "in bed with Wall Street." In fact, he's trying to regulate Wall Street so that this crisis won't repeat itself.
@owen2re Obama is in bed with the Federal Reserve (who are the culprits of Wallstreet), otherwise he would want to balance the budget at 1% cut in spending across the board for 8 years, which would balance the United States budget. Obama isn't trying to regulate Wall Street, he's trying to fuel riots so he can declare martial law to protect himself for another 4 years. He's anti-capitalism period. Saul Alinsky is his mentor. Obama is encouraging jobs to China, look at GE, GM, etc.
@caroln1858 yeah...and the moon landing was a hoax, too. seriously. he is not anti-capitalism at all. he isn't fueling riots. the riots are bigger than anything he could control. he isn't in bed with the Federal Reserve. he's respecting their decisions and allowing them the autonomy they're legally entitled to. it's called professionalism. and what do spending cuts have to do with the Federal Reserve, anyway? the fed regulates the money supply, not fiscal policies.
@owen2re THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK is bankrupting America and the World. Is this an accident? NOOOOOOOOO! Obama is their puppet and you're as ridiculous as he is with "he's respecting their decisions". He's respecting their decisions to destroy the value of the American Dollar so we can lose our sovereignty? The Fed is the Federal Reserve Bank, and is a privately owned bank. We DO NOT MAKE OUR OWN MONEY DUDE! That was taken away in 1913. Why don't you get educated and figure this out.
@caroln1858 i never said the bank makes money. i said "the fed regulates the money supply." it does that by setting interest rates. who isn't educated? i didn't think i would need to explain the phrase "regulates the money supply" to an "educated" person like yourself. THE MONEY SUPPLY IS MORE THAN JUST PRINTED CASH, it comes in the form of credit, and demand deposits as well. when the fed sets a lower interest rate, borrowing and credit increases which in turn increases the money supply.
@caroln1858 i graduated with a 3.8 in economics. i know my shit. don't tell me i'm not educated. i never insulted you, you had no right to insult me. that's the problem with american politics these days. everyone acts like a bunch of babies. i'm an expat who lives in Africa, and i have to say that from an international perspective the American press is an embarrassment. trust me, you're only embarrassing yourselves and your country.
@owen2re It's good you know your *hit, but do you really know economics? Your paragraph reeks of ignorance. You're acting like a baby. If you don't live in the USA, then don't tell me you know what's going on. END THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK. Issue bonds backed by silver. No more quantitative easing to destroy the value of our dollar. Rothschild, and friends are controlling all of this, what are you, their crony?
Lol. Some housewifes with 3 kids can do a better job of balancing the budget then any one can. They can stretch a dollar a long ways, make everybody happy and face the next morning with a smile on our face. Its those people who got a champagne taste and a beer bottle income who got
@owen2re Dude, you're wasting your time with dipshits like CAROLN1858, she/he listens to talk radio and whatever those retards say is true, even if it can't be. Any idiot can look at a graph of our National debt and see we were paying it down until Reagan's term and then it shot for the sky and hasn't looked back. I mean how dumb do you have to be to see what GOP policies have done, yet want more of them? Bin Ladin, Saddam, Iran? All Created by the GOP
@Rushtrdamus With a vocabulary like yours it appears that you're listening to dipsticks rather than I. What graphs are you looking at? The ones produced by the Demorat Party, which is the party of Socialists? It didn't used to be that way, but it is NOW. GOP and Democrats are to blame for cronyism, which goes on daily. Who creates jobs? The Government? Stimulus has done nothing for the economy. What's your solution? Bankrupt more businesses so you can live on Government handouts?
wow, this is weak. it reminds me of a circa 1992 christian sunday school film. yeah, that's what it needs is a little michael w. smith in the background...
Obama is in bed with the Federal Reserve Bank...how else can he authorize so many bailouts? You've got the Federal Reserve Bank bankrupting the world...so Occupy Wall Street is barking up the wrong tree...go to D.C. and bark at Obama for being such a jerk.
Digital0134 thinks that Americans are "Occupiers". There are really two kinds of Americans: Patriots and Whiners. Patriots go to work, educate their kids, pay their mortgage even if they are underwater, fly the flag and are disgusted by the current state of the society. Oh yeah, and BTW, would love to kick the asses of those morons in NYC, LA,Chicago et al up around their pointy little ears.
Fragdoc serious I doubt you have any skill the production is top notch and as it was stated in the discription wanted feed back for how to help create a better message. The video is pretty straight forward and shows average Americans asking for what they want if you can do better then post a video response and prove you are better and until then why don't you crawl back into you liberal hole you dug your self out of to try to discredit a video that poses a threat to you.
The people bashing the TEA party do not even know what it means or stands for. All they hear is what the liberal media is spewing out there...Liberals only see or hear what they believe...no matter how far from the truth it may be, they still believe it.
@HelplessnessBlues HELL< you are the one that is Helpless...you announce it in your name. That is typical for left wing nutcases who need the government to take care of them and always having their hand out for more. That is how the democrats, liberals, nutcases, socialists, progressives or whatever else they call themselves today. All I know is that the dems have a JACKASS as a mascot...birds of a feather DO flock together.
@HelplessnessBlues thats right, it confirms the fact that you ar elooking for handouts from the American taxpayers because you and others like you think you are entitled to...well you are not. You have the right in the USA to be wealthy middle income, lower income or downright poor, you have the right to be smart or as you have chosen dumb. You want to take the easy way and say you are helpless...well, go flip hamburgers at McDonalds (NObamas favorite job creating company). VIVA CAPITALISM
Digital0134 sounds like a completely brain washed anarchist who would be much more at home in Pakistan hoping to get a chance to kill Americans instead of acting like one.
@DOCb0b01 Put the crack pipe down and take a bath, Occupier. The Occupy Gig will be over the first night it gets really cold in NYC. LMFAO...you chumps are unreal!
Let's show even more diversity in the commercial; more people in general. Maybe groups of people. Have them cite more beliefs in what the government role should be.
if u look up the term 'uncle tom' in the dictionary u will find a picture of herman cain in the page margin....the tea party klan having a few misguided and uninformed blacks and latinos does not equate to diversity
if the ignorant tea party movement had even an ounce of credibility it would join forces with the OCCUPY WALL STRET movement -0 the tea party has zero credibility - so that wont be happening ....eric cantor, michele bachmann, rick perry and herman cain are nothing but shills for the fascist koch brothers
I support the Tea Party! This is simple but a good message because this is whatthe Tea Party stand for-a simple straight up message-shrink government and taxed enough already!
All of you "occupiers" out there-do you realize that all of your complaints are aimed at everyone BUT the White House and Obama? That is where the blame should lay. Where were you when Obama and the Dems passed the Financial Recovery Act? All those fat cats you complain about-they are in Obama's cabinet and "circle."
I realize the ad is already complete so there isn't much sense in asking to have it changed, but I hope the next time the Tea Party has air time that the beliefs will be brought to light so that those who may not watch the news or keep up with politics can truly understand why this Party has come together. We are watching our country die little by little with each new regulation, each new stimulus, each new directive that takes our personal rights away. What happened to the American Dream?
I agree with barryudcoff. I support the Tea Party and was heartened to find out I'm not alone in my desire for a more limited government. This ad needs more impact. Maybe faces morphing into each other (kind of like the video on the Presidents) while elaborating on the genesis of the Tea Party movement and its basis in the US Constitution.
I support the tea party and believe in what they value, but this ad is pretty weak.
Instead of repeating phrases, come up with a 30 second dialogue on what the party believes and dissolve between the various people reading the complete statement. End with a wide shot of a crowd at a tea party rally and the crowd says, "We are the Tea Party."
Dig deep, stop the anger, find the best solution, live in peace.
My country is being torn apart from within. I hope common sense will replace the insanity, principal will replace greed and dedication will replace the entitilement mentality. The great divider (President Obama) and his socialist / communist party has created us against them. We are Americans! If we do not smarten up and come together for the common good, King Obama and his ruling parliment will forever destroy the American dream.
I have been to a few TEA party rallies . I believe in what is professed there. i am not sending my money to any central location however. Soon as we have a central control , we cease to exist..
I do not feel this video represents the Tea Party or our goals well. I don't believe a third rate commercial is how we want to introduce ourselves to the nation and win people over. Please go back to the drawing board.
@noproblem2011 That would be nice. Have you ever looked for American made clothes? shoes? tools? toys? kitchen ware? bicycles? skates? ummmm anything made in the USA would be nice. Send me a list.
George W. Bush wasn't perfect but he was FAR from evil. If you think he was, then you don't know what true evil is(such as Obama wanting the unborn to die) and we have nothing further to discuss.
@seinakate Yeah, tell that to the 5000 soldiers that died for a lie. But then you just lied in your post, so I'm guessing lying is OK with you.
Let me guess, you're a christian? Funny, you fuckers talk a day about people killing babies, but you most likely worship a god that killed THOUSANDS of innocent babies to prove his points. Does that mean that because you pray to and worship an ADMITTED baby killer, that you agree with killing babies too?
Thanks for the warning. I can smell your stink all the way to Texas. We in the Tea Party don't carry crazy signs, don't disrupt commerce, don't insult cops and don't participate in civil disobedience like a bunch of little spoiled brats.
99% OF US IN THE TEA PARTY WORK FOR A LIVING. Unlike you guys, when we hold public rallys, we don't leave behind trash or stink. Clean up your act or stay home!!
@digital0314 "99% OF US IN THE TEA PARTY WORK FOR A LIVING." BULLSHIT, a large part of the Tea party is retired and most likely cashing SS checks. I've seen the footage from the protests, most are over 50, white and some ride in on Hoveround scooters that I helped pay for. And I also hear your radio assholes bash civil servats every day, so please try to be honest about who bashes our cops and teachers.
We do have eyes and ears. Hahahahaha DON'T carry crazy signs?????????
@Rushtrdamus What the hell does race, age or physical condition have to do with anything? We're ALL Americans, but you want to categorize people. You'll never learn anything by listening to talk radio or watching MSNBC. EDUCATE yourself and examine your elected officials voting records and personal views. The news media is going to spoonfeed you whatever they want in order to manipulate your opinion. Notice how Obama hasn't jailed any Wall St Execs? They're Dems who donate to his campaign!!
@digital0314 That's just about the dumbest question I've ever seen asked on YT. You can judge a movement by how broad it's support is among EVERYONE. If OLD fuckers want something, most likely it's an issue that's good for old fuckers. If Blacks like something, it's an issue that helps blacks. I hate to break it to you, but the REALITY is that we all separate ourselves into groups on a daily basis.
@Rushtrdamus You're a lost cause. I see you completely avoided my other points, which you have no answer for. FUCK is your keyword. If you're part of the "Occupy Mob", you're irrelevant. USA is not going to change 200+ years of capitalism for whiners and crybabies like you. NO, you can't start work at the executive level. Put your iPhone & XBox away and learn that you have to start at the bottom and EARN your way up, whether it's flippin burgers or cleaning shitters! Occupy will be history soon.
@digital0314 What other points? You tried to say that we should all just do our own thing and think for ourselves, how many times has that been tried? Millions? Billions of times? Call me when that bullshit works out for you?
" NO, you can't start work at the executive level" Of course you can, it's called an inheritance, ask G. W Bush if it's possible?
" Occupy will be history soon." I said EXACTLY that 2 weeks in.
@Rushtrdamus You think Obama gives a shit about you and the rest of the Occupy mob? HELL NO! He's another Chicago Gangsta with a good rap. He seduced you fools into voting him in. How's THAT working for you? Wall Street are his biggest donors and you idiots are eating shit off the streets in NYC. You don't get no inheritance like G.W. You can protest all you want, you still gotta start from the bottom and work your way up. The world doesn't owe you jackshit nor does it care how you feel.
The Tea Party is middle America. It is impossible to define the Tea Party without using the word American and/or Constitution. Like someone here said, they are not any better than anyone else because every one of us is in some way a part of the Tea Party. Unless you would rather live like they live in North Korea you are part of the Tea Party.
Do you understand the United States Constitution? Have you ever read it? Do you know that the Federal Reserve Bank gave bailout money, not only to the largest banks in the USA, but from South Korea to Scotland and to the tune of $16 Trillion Dollars. If you wonder why the banks of Europe effect the banks of the USA, this it your clue. If that makes you sick....then why douse the Tea Party. They only want responsible Government, Fiscal Responsibility, so you and me can have a life.
@caroln1858 agree, but I am 50's, support (Rep. parents), kids and pay tax. In democrat minds TP's are religious, gun totin', anti GLBT , KKK lovin', obstuctionist, fundamentals, who steal elections and think they shouldn't have to pay for their militaristic, patriotic war in Iraq..and you won't even legalize weed so we can deal with it. R's think unions & dems are out to get them, what they want is safety, a job, good pay, due process and clean environment. Trickle down=pissed on. Tax 1%

SexyVeloChick 4 months ago
@SexyVeloChick youre the brainwashed idiot. science isnt consensus. probably too young to remember Time mag in the late '70s promoting the coming ice age . what are you 12.
dosad1 4 months ago
@dosad1 Tech. anytime there is any ice on the Earth, we are in an Ice Age. Do you not agree that Humans are doing things to the planet that have never been done to it since its formation 4.5 billion years ago? I concur that there are things that happen naturally- and have done so for billions of years. but what is not natural is all the added pollution we are causing- trash-factories-burnning fuels and so on... all things the earth has never had to deal with. MY guess is these are bad things.
mastro82mp 4 months ago
@mastro82mp i agree we are having an effect upon this planet. trash and unbridled pollution hurts my heart. however, emotional reactives that cause unnecessary hardships to our lives are at this point more destructive to our growth , prosperity and freedom. science instead of agenda should drive the debate. for instance, despite commercial pollutants, today, we have cleaner water air and food for consumption than ever before. check out how much pollution mother nature puts out compared to us
dosad1 4 months ago
@dosad1 Its great that the trash and pollution "hurts your heart" but there are millions of people out there that are living with cancer, and other life-threatning deceases out there because of polluted ground water, polluted air, eating fish with mercury in it, I could go on. Not sure how regulating a company to not put pollutants in the ground is going to affect anyones freedom. I agree, the water and air is getting better and has been doing so thanks to the EPA.
mastro82mp 3 months ago
@dosad1 Also, I agree, the Earth does put out a lot of pollution. Natural Pollution that it made, and has been doing so for 4.5 billion years, and knows how to handle itself with it. In the last 200 years we've covered this planet with asphalt, dumped millions and millions of oil in its waters and on its land, dumped trash the size of texas that is still floating around the ocean, made products that will never ever break down, dug up and burnt stuff that the earth never intended us on burning. .

odog47 4 months ago
weak misleading ad to support a party that is already bought and sold by the people they originally set out to decry. the Tea party instead of being a force for change and democracy has become a puppet voice for the standard "this is my christian country" that would subjugate anyone with a differing view. This is not the party that I want representing my diverse family. $ does not belong in politics, but neither does religion. We have already had one to many dark ages.
Stillwaters07 4 months ago
@Stillwaters07
UncleIrv 4 months ago 2
Did you look for the ugliest and dumbest looking people for this ad? This is NOT what the group of Tea Party members I hang with, look like. This is like a slap in our face! You surely could send a stronger message than this! You people are a joke..makes me question the your loyalty..maybe you should be pushing support for the other side. This ad sure looks like you want to embarrass the T-party. Very weak and stupid. Try again.
jrubelou62 4 months ago
The problem with the tea party is that it got co-opted by social conservatives, status quo Republicans, and neo-conservatives. These groups want big government too. Just their version of big government. The tea party should have stuck with the ideals of ending corporate welfare and limiting the size and power of government. Instead we have ended up with a pro war (big government), pro Patriot Act (big government/surveillance state), based on the fear factory of DC and media.
cornas47 4 months ago
@cornas47
UncleIrv 4 months ago
@UncleIrv Nope. This isn't about social issues. But most Social Conservatives are allied with Neo-Cons and neither are small government advocates. They just want big government their way. Both largely support the TARP loving Federal Reserve advocate Herman Cain. And LISTEN to Cain. He does not want to shut down wasteful government agencies. Except for the EPA, Cain only wants to "fix" those Agencies. EVERY big government promoter says that.
cornas47 4 months ago
@cornas47
UncleIrv 4 months ago
@UncleIrv Disagree. Cain favored a bailout of the Banks which violated free market principles. This was less than a month after he claimed the economy was a "Cinderella economy". He opposed an full audit of the Fed. The Fed was the real bailout. That's how TARP got repaid. He favored that too. As far as Cain not ruling out "further cuts of federal agencies? If he's conservative he should be ruling them in. He isn't. He's a big government guy. .and crony capitalist.
cornas47 4 months ago
@cornas47
Your understanding of economics is deficient.
UncleIrv 4 months ago
@UncleIrv You are misinformed. Depositors are covered by FDIC. People that buy stocks or bonds take risks. Higher return for the risk. Called: "capitalism". .In this case, the stock holders would have been wiped out. Bondholders would have received the remaining equity in the corporation when it emerged from bankruptcy. Clean balance sheets . recapitalization from investors. Lending follows. Instead we have zombie banks. And no lending. Cain people seem angry. BTW MS in economics
cornas47 4 months ago
@cornas47
UncleIrv 4 months ago
@UncleIrv I didn't call you or Cain a "wacko", so....regarding your claiming the assets needed to have a chance to redeem themselves? No. Currently still marked to fantasy. That's the problem. They are impairing the recovery. In a secular decline, drastic declines in investments form a springboard for recovery.. Latest secular decline has been made deeper because of previous interventions Misallocation of resources are made worse by delay in liquidation. Zombie economy. Japan.
cornas47 4 months ago
@cornas47
LOL.
UncleIrv 4 months ago
@UncleIrv There will always be people in large dedicated movements that are "out there". Cain has more than his share. What I don't like about Cain is that he has been consistently incorrect of the economy, was a supporter of disastrous Greenspan's policies, and made excuses for the Bush big government. = Keynesian, interventionist and big government. That dominance in Keynesian economic theory has ruined the US economy...... Dr Sargent got the Nobel!!
cornas47 4 months ago
@cornas47

ForgivenGirl1 4 months ago
I agree with MrMuscleflexin - this ad needs work. One of the main misconceptions that the media repeats and late-night comedians joke about is that the Tea Party wants no government or taxes whatsoever. Perhaps that should be addressed stronger, that the Tea Party doesn't want anarchy - it just wants fiscal responsibility and limited government.

End the Fed

@yowowulu and @Rushtrdamus thank you for being some of the few sensible/sane people in this conversation... And @mdbg43 Really? That's sad. Really Really sad. Saying that liberals only believe what they want to hear makes me cry. Conservatives are the ones who deny science and believe things like climate change being a hoax created by scientists for media attention and money. That is really really really sad. Face the facts. Democrats deal with reality, not fantasy.

SexyVeloChick 4 months ago
@SexyVeloChick The idea that Obama was born in Kenya was actually first coined by democrats, so thats the first problem in your argument. It was a Hillary supporter that suggested that Obama wasn't born in America, and it was actually Fox News that was the first to shoot down this theory. So thats your second problem, Fox News is the only fair and blanced news network on the air, have the highest ratings, and unlike MSNBC's Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow, are always factually correct.......!

@mastro82mp You might want to take a look at the comment to which I was replying...
Shanockdotcom 4 months ago
@Shanockdotcom Fun fact. Our debt is about 45% bush tax cuts, 65% everything else, including the wars and such. The tax cuts themselves suck and Obama, Y YOU EXTEND FAILED TAX POLICY??? As for the oil rig. Where it was safe? The management was atrocious and they blatantly ignored safety regulations to cut costs. Also, I wonder what party the manipulation of loans took place under? (deregulation made this legal) Theres a reason the repubs are known as the party of no. Accountability lets get some
NickOfNaples 3 months ago
@NickOfNaples Tax cuts don't create debt. Spending more than your income creates debt. Cut spending, and reduced taxes promote prosperity. Bush was wrong because he didn't do both, Obama is wrong because he won't do either. For the oil rig, your question was answered before you asked it. The govt loan manipulation was mostly legislated under Clinton. If repubs have ever been the "party of no," unfortunately they haven't lived up to it. This country would be much better off with more "no"s to BS.
Shanockdotcom 3 months ago
@Shanockdotcom When you're not taking in any money, its difficult to spend it. I'm sorry you believe for a second that reduced spending and tax cuts creates prosperity.Look at hoover, that whole great depression thing? yeah. NOW lets look at FDR, increased taxes AND spending. My point is proven.
NickOfNaples 3 months ago
@NickOfNaples Here's another way of looking at it: If the government doesn't spend as much money, it doesn't need to take as much from the people. The depression was caused by govt credit-driven expansion of the monetary supply, which caused a boom and bust - much like the '08 housing bubble. Both FDR and Hoover unsuccessfully tried to spend the U.S. out of depression. It only ended after WWII - FDR was dead, spending and taxes were reduced, the economy recovered. Your point is hereby de-proven.
Shanockdotcom 3 months ago
@Shanockdotcom Govt credit driven expansion wasn't the cause of the depression. Ideally that's who we would like to blame, but the rampant consumerism and subsequent bank failures were what really did us in. Peoples money just, disappeared. The fear caused by that on top of the recent stock market crash scared people to stop spending, which stopped stimulating the economy, causing more fear. Our recession was over in FDRs second term. Well before he was dead. In that regard you are simply wrong
NickOfNaples 3 months ago
@NickOfNaples Don't you realize that your evidence is proving my points for me? Where do you think the "rampant consumerism" came from, if not easy credit? The bank failures are a natural result of a collapsing bubble.
Now, would you have told any American who was on war rationing that the depression was over and that she was prosperous? She would have glanced at her hovel, and either laughed or spat in your face. Argue all you want, the fact is prosperity did not return until after WWII.
Shanockdotcom 3 months ago
@Shanockdotcom Easy credit, gotten from limited regulation from a conservative political stance. It wasn't regulated which led to a massive economic failure. It took time for people to regain confidence in the economy, but the fact remains that the recession ended under FDR. Take your broken ideology somewhere else.
NickOfNaples 3 months ago
@NickOfNaples The Federal Reserve was created with the power to artificially regulate interest rates. You can only say that credit wasn't regulated if you deny that the Fed existed. And, in fact, such regulation was what created the bubble. Again, like housing policy leading to '08.
Sorry friend, but it makes no sense to call my ideology broken when you have yet to make a valid point, when mine hasn't been implemented, and when your own (Keynesian, I presume) has created so much trouble.
Shanockdotcom 3 months ago
NickOfNaples 3 months ago
Guess what..you raise taxes during a recession, who gets hit? The consumer! You notice the price of Gasoline? We're paying the oil companies taxes. You Tax businesses higher, how do they compensate...raise their prices...it hits the consumer, you lose. Herman Cain's idea of 999 is something which could help, but even that isn't enough. I would put a stop to exporting our businesses to China, India, etc. unless it was equal trading across the board. Obama is fueling China's uneven trade.
caroln1858 4 months ago
@caroln1858 BULLSHIT! 999 is just another way of giving the rich more control. You do realize that his plan includes gutting the tax code, right? That means that someone making 15K/year will no longer get Earned income credit AND have to pay a 9% FEDERAL sales tax ON TOP of their state sales tax which where I live is 6%, for a grand total of 15%. A simple(cheap) used car costing 10K would add $900 to an already underpaid person's cost of living, while a rich man will pay less. No WAY
Rushtrdamus 4 months ago
@Rushtrdamus The Federal Sales TAx would only be a Tax for New Cars not used cars. It is only for NEW luxury items. I think you need to go to Herman Cains website and look at what he means by the 999 plan. Gutting the Tax Code isn't a bad idea. You say it helps the rich? Are you self-employed? It would be better than the TAxes we pay if we are self-employed paying State, Federal, Business Taxes, and other Taxes added by every state or city in the union.
caroln1858 4 months ago
@caroln1858 ABSOLUTELY wrong, any used car purchased at a dealer IS taxed again, you retarded dumbass. I just bought one and paid $1200 in sales taxes, so fuck you.
Again, WRONG! Right now, people making less than a certain amount pay NO fed Taxes, under Herman's plan, they would pay 9% on top of state taxes, and the increased sales tax. Basically it would destroy the lives of poor people while making rich people even more rich.
Rushtrdamus 4 months ago
@Rushtrdamus Move to Oregon, we don't have a sales tax, you won't get taxed at all for buying a used car. Don't call me a Dumb Ass just because you're earning $15,000 per year. What do you do for a living? Bus Tables? Honestly, go look for a better job somewhere, anywhere. United Grocers or a Grocery Company, or the Railroad would pay you much better than that. Yes, they're Union. My Dad worked for the Railroad for 35 years and got a decent pension. I bought my car on Craigs List used.
caroln1858 4 months ago
People don't remember what happened on 9/11 and what it did to our economy. The financial bubble was caused from lenders giving money to people who couldn't pay the loan once the 3 or 5 year variable rate ended. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which are US Government owned, caused this problem through bad management practice, fueled by a stagnant economy after 9/11, through grounding planes, grounded travel, cut back economic growth, etc. Bush did what he thought would help..it didn't..now what?
caroln1858 4 months ago
@caroln1858 Again, BULLSHIT, the bubble was cause by people taking out MULTIPLE loans on their homes and/or multiple interest only loans to try to make money. There was also this thing called a MORTGAGE BACKED SECURITY where BANKS bundled loans and sold them to OTHER banks as an investment. DEREGULATION allowed them to skip the process of proper underwriting to ensure the securities were worth what they claimed they were.
You really should educate yourself, Glenn Beck is full of shit.
Rushtrdamus 4 months ago
@Rushtrdamus Your last sentence is very denigrating. Deregulation was meant to fuel an economic boon, but it backfired. Too many people without a clue as to what can happen, but it was predicted by many for quite a few years. Yes, banks like to make money, but the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK has devalued your dollar to 1 Cent per dollar, because of bailouts to every country in the world. $16 Trillion in loans to every country from South Korea to Scotland. What's your solution now?
caroln1858 4 months ago
@caroln1858 No shit, I'm glad you got it.
HINT: poor people didn't do it
Rushtrdamus 4 months ago
you guys seem to be forgetting that Bush inherited a budget surplus from Clinton. if you're wondering where the deficit came from, you gotta look at the republicans. also, an "unregulated free market" ideology is what allowed Wall Street to behave irresponsibly and cause the economic crisis we've seen. all Bush era policies. Obama is not "in bed with Wall Street." In fact, he's trying to regulate Wall Street so that this crisis won't repeat itself.
owen2re 4 months ago 2
@owen2re Obama is in bed with the Federal Reserve (who are the culprits of Wallstreet), otherwise he would want to balance the budget at 1% cut in spending across the board for 8 years, which would balance the United States budget. Obama isn't trying to regulate Wall Street, he's trying to fuel riots so he can declare martial law to protect himself for another 4 years. He's anti-capitalism period. Saul Alinsky is his mentor. Obama is encouraging jobs to China, look at GE, GM, etc.
caroln1858 4 months ago
@caroln1858 yeah...and the moon landing was a hoax, too. seriously. he is not anti-capitalism at all. he isn't fueling riots. the riots are bigger than anything he could control. he isn't in bed with the Federal Reserve. he's respecting their decisions and allowing them the autonomy they're legally entitled to. it's called professionalism. and what do spending cuts have to do with the Federal Reserve, anyway? the fed regulates the money supply, not fiscal policies.
owen2re 4 months ago
@owen2re THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK is bankrupting America and the World. Is this an accident? NOOOOOOOOO! Obama is their puppet and you're as ridiculous as he is with "he's respecting their decisions". He's respecting their decisions to destroy the value of the American Dollar so we can lose our sovereignty? The Fed is the Federal Reserve Bank, and is a privately owned bank. We DO NOT MAKE OUR OWN MONEY DUDE! That was taken away in 1913. Why don't you get educated and figure this out.
caroln1858 4 months ago
@caroln1858 i never said the bank makes money. i said "the fed regulates the money supply." it does that by setting interest rates. who isn't educated? i didn't think i would need to explain the phrase "regulates the money supply" to an "educated" person like yourself. THE MONEY SUPPLY IS MORE THAN JUST PRINTED CASH, it comes in the form of credit, and demand deposits as well. when the fed sets a lower interest rate, borrowing and credit increases which in turn increases the money supply.
owen2re 4 months ago

If you want to understand true Tea Party Principles and not just meaningless slogans and jingoisms, watch my 2 short 'Tea Party P.E.P. Talk' videos.
If you're going to debate, your arguments had better be based on a solid, principled foundation; if not, you will lose.

George W. Bush wasn't perfect but he was FAR from evil. If you think he was, then you don't know what true evil is(such as Obama wanting the unborn to die) and we have nothing further to discuss.
seinakate 4 months ago
@seinakate Yeah, tell that to the 5000 soldiers that died for a lie. But then you just lied in your post, so I'm guessing lying is OK with you.
Let me guess, you're a christian? Funny, you fuckers talk a day about people killing babies, but you most likely worship a god that killed THOUSANDS of innocent babies to prove his points. Does that mean that because you pray to and worship an ADMITTED baby killer, that you agree with killing babies too?
OUCH! That has to hurt.

Clean up your act or stay home!!
digital0314 4 months ago 3
@digital0314 "99% OF US IN THE TEA PARTY WORK FOR A LIVING." BULLSHIT, a large part of the Tea party is retired and most likely cashing SS checks. I've seen the footage from the protests, most are over 50, white and some ride in on Hoveround scooters that I helped pay for. And I also hear your radio assholes bash civil servats every day, so please try to be honest about who bashes our cops and teachers.
We do have eyes and ears. Hahahahaha DON'T carry crazy signs?????????
Rushtrdamus 4 months ago
@Rushtrdamus What the hell does race, age or physical condition have to do with anything? We're ALL Americans, but you want to categorize people. You'll never learn anything by listening to talk radio or watching MSNBC. EDUCATE yourself and examine your elected officials voting records and personal views. The news media is going to spoonfeed you whatever they want in order to manipulate your opinion. Notice how Obama hasn't jailed any Wall St Execs? They're Dems who donate to his campaign!!
digital0314 4 months ago 2
@digital0314 That's just about the dumbest question I've ever seen asked on YT. You can judge a movement by how broad it's support is among EVERYONE. If OLD fuckers want something, most likely it's an issue that's good for old fuckers. If Blacks like something, it's an issue that helps blacks. I hate to break it to you, but the REALITY is that we all separate ourselves into groups on a daily basis.
Rushtrdamus 4 months ago
@Rushtrdamus You're a lost cause. I see you completely avoided my other points, which you have no answer for. FUCK is your keyword. If you're part of the "Occupy Mob", you're irrelevant. USA is not going to change 200+ years of capitalism for whiners and crybabies like you. NO, you can't start work at the executive level. Put your iPhone & XBox away and learn that you have to start at the bottom and EARN your way up, whether it's flippin burgers or cleaning shitters! Occupy will be history soon.
digital0314 4 months ago
@digital0314 What other points? You tried to say that we should all just do our own thing and think for ourselves, how many times has that been tried? Millions? Billions of times? Call me when that bullshit works out for you?
" NO, you can't start work at the executive level" Of course you can, it's called an inheritance, ask G. W Bush if it's possible?
" Occupy will be history soon." I said EXACTLY that 2 weeks in.
Rushtrdamus 4 months ago

Unless you would rather live like they live in North Korea you are part of the Tea Party.
hillaryTex 4 months ago 2
Do you understand the United States Constitution? Have you ever read it? Do you know that the Federal Reserve Bank gave bailout money, not only to the largest banks in the USA, but from South Korea to Scotland and to the tune of $16 Trillion Dollars. If you wonder why the banks of Europe effect the banks of the USA, this it your clue. If that makes you sick....then why douse the Tea Party. They only want responsible Government, Fiscal Responsibility, so you and me can have a life.
caroln1858 4 months ago 5
@caroln1858 agree, but I am 50's, support (Rep. parents), kids and pay tax. In democrat minds TP's are religious, gun totin', anti GLBT , KKK lovin', obstuctionist, fundamentals, who steal elections and think they shouldn't have to pay for their militaristic, patriotic war in Iraq..and you won't even legalize weed so we can deal with it. R's think unions & dems are out to get them, what they want is safety, a job, good pay, due process and clean environment. Trickle down=pissed on. Tax 1%
