  • Great thing about 15/1 was that there was no pissing around asking the contestants a load of questions about themselves, they just got straight into it!!

  • gibsosgerbil, Daphne Fowler did get all the questions in the last round right ( like Bill McCaig) but she went through with 2 lives, not 3 (so she was 1 off the maximum score).

  • Bill McKaig scored 433 Points For A Maximum Score On 15-1.

Did Daphne Fowler Get A Maximum Score On 15-1?

  • ...go on wullie...:)

  • Mastermind !

  • Question or nominate Bill?

    F..k off, question!

  • Oh Bill, you're a smart bastard aren't you?

  • Mark and Alison, I do believe you've just been owned.

  • 5:10 Question or nominate?

"Hmmm, let me think about this...to let the others have a go or not...nah, question!!!!!!"

Seriously though, what an epic performance.

  • this was more like 1-1 than 15-1 LOL.

  • The guy in the middle didn't seem happy!

  • His brain is the size of a small asteroid.

  • William G. Stewart is a legend.

  • this is not the first time it happened, Im sure?

  • @623058 It was the only time. The only person to get a score near it was Daphne Fowler, who's now a regular on the Eggheads.

  • sounds like the Carling Black Label advert lol

  • Why was he not an Egghead?

  • Makes me proud tae be Scottish.

  • I loved 15 - 1! It's my favourite of the quiz shows for three reasons. 1) There are tons of questions asked during the half hour, unlike the likes of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire where you are lucky to get 15 in one episode, 2) They standard is the same throughout, meaning no absurdly easy or absurdly difficult questions like on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire or The Weakest Link, and 3) All the questions are about things which are worth knowing, not about pointless celebrity gossip!

  • Well done susan? ................. What did she and the other bloke do other than stand there feeling redundant?

  • You dont see that everyday

  • William G.Stewart should have asked him what the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything is. Considering the run he was on he'd probably have got it right and we'd all be able to sleep easier at night. And just throw in one more question to the round to make it 42 questions.

  • BILL MCKAIG Is Not Rainman.

"Rain Man" Is The Name Of The Drama Film Starring Dustin Hoffman, Tom Cruise, and directed By Barry Livingson.

  • Rainman.

  • bring it back!!!

  • Amazing!

  • I have not seen this episode before and Bill scares me. Out of the 40 i got ELEVEN right which I think is good but compared to him? Not a chance. I wonder if he is barred form any pub quizzes?

  • @jakamneziak I think hes barred from the eggheads

  • THANKS for this! I've uploaded an earlier final which featured the highest score AT THAT TIME. After which, I ESCAPED Britain - thus MISSING this. For me, it's over a decade late - but thankyou for allowing me to FINALLY see a 15-1 MAXIMUM!

  • It would have been so much more epic if the guy next to him just fucked off mid round.

  • That was just sheer quality. i got 8 questions. :-)

  • Do people realize that yellowcake is the chap in the middle.....!

  • incredible !! i want a brain and memory like that !!

  • Question or nominate? Question! Correct.

  • Question!

  • LMAO that not right!!!!!!!!

  • any footage of Bill McKaig in the grandfinals?

  • 4:00 look at the middle dudes face. he's like O.O

idk about this game but that bitch on the right is getting robbed xD

  • I always liked the fact that if it was a particularly good show William G Stewart would often remark that he " enjoyed that today" as if he had been slightly felated

  • cheater!

  • beaver scout" heheh

  • I remember watching this and watching it now it was not suprising it was game over for the show. the impossible was now possible

  • At the start it looks like Bill is listening to the beat on his headset & mixing on his turntables

  • Why isn't he one of the eggheads?????

  • Awesome. Bill McKaig is an absolute legend. William G Stewart must also be one of the hardest men in television. The pre-2001 music is also the best quiz show theme tune there ever was!

  • I expected a better performance from Stephen Hawking myself.

  • Do You Think BillMcKaig gets a Maximum score On 15-1 In Late 1998?

  • @shirleygibson This was early 1999.

  • What a shame this show met the axe - absolutely incredible, sterling quizzing with exceptionally smooth presentation. Golden television.

  • FML! I actually remember this exact episode.

  • Colony of beaver scouts you say?

  • @chriswatts83 lol

  • Comment removed

  • Clever chap.

  • Brilliant thanks I love the bit at the start! So random and a very camp voice over "in a very *active* life... hahahahahaha

  • imagine being the other 2... you'd be gutted lol

  • I am certain there is no better performance in any quiz game anywhere, a truly stupendous performance

  • That was unbelievable. He knew everything lol, didnt matter what the subject was :D

  • Remarkable, I use Bill in my quiz team next time LOL !!!!

  • fantastic!

  • Martin what has happened to the hair???

  • I remember watching this at the time - unbelievable!

  • The other two contestants look so bored and resigned to their defeat.

  • only one winner there - kevin ashman.

  • @bigpaulothe1st

    Or Daphne Fowler

  • Nope, that would be the total destruction of all quizes ever known to mankind

  • i do not fucking believe it! the maximum score, just pure perfection

  • Well he got the God question wrong.

  • Who got a sly look t the question pack then? :D

  • Daphne Fowler would destroy him

  • Yeah my homegirl Daphne would pwn him.

  • no way

  • wold she fuck

  • Awesome.

I wish this was still on, what a show. Game shows would be so much better now if they still used retro 90s intro music.

  • no one likes a smart arse,,very clever man ,,unreal

  • first watched this when I was 13 and hadn't thought about it since - awesome display though. Love it how he looks so bored!

  • Yeh but he spelt his name wrong on his application form

  • hero, him and nick terry were my favourites.

  • my god

  • Man if only I could be as smart as this...what a legend!

  • This is one of those rare game show moments of all time.

With those like that, we think we could do this show.

  • Wouldnt you just love a night in the town with that "sweaty"? nope... thought not!

  • So Mr Cornwell- erm, I mean Mr Penny! Did you and Alison get to come back?!

  • MacJaxonManOfBleedinMystery more like...... Who be this?

Me and Big Al did get to go back I hasten to add. Made the final again by a cunning blend of deal making and violence,,,,;-)

  • LOL I'm just some schmuck you've never met from Glasgow, I merely read the comments, and saw the resemblance :-)

Funnily enough though, I used to work in the Gorbals, like Bill. Sadly the similarities between us end there. Kudos to you for uploading this mate.

  • As the Four horsemen of the Apocalypse at 2.47, it was a film starring Rudolph Valentino

  • I hope he enters Are you an Egghead? He should do pretty well based on this performance

  • Incredible performance.

  • he should b an egghead alone

  • Proof indeed that there is no correlation between intelligence and knowledge. He knows a lot of stuff...but thinks a 2,000 year old jewish zombie is watching him from the sky. What a cretin! lol

  • Best. Comment. Ever.

  • You should have punched him. I bet he wouldn't have got a question about train driving ;)

  • I admire his intellect but I also find it annoying and boring when one person answers all the questions.

  • Bill is a ledge !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P:P

  • I want him as my phone a friend!!!

  • If you give him more than three choices, he freezes and falls over.

  • lolwut?

  • still gets them right tho doesnt he

  • only 1 plz

  • i remeber watching this cant believe its 10 year ago, where has the time gone!!!

  • It's gone 10 years

  • The theme tune actually rocks! Why they changed it is beyond me.

  • I only knew three of those questions.

The Venessa Mae (violinist) , Sherlock Holmes, and the Peter Pan questions. But ridiculous. I now have a role model to look toward. The guy who either knows just about everything, or knows how to cheat really freaking well (I am hoping for the intellect though).

  • He should be an egghead.

  • agreed.should there be an are you an egghead? 2 bill mckaig should be on it.

  • epic win

  • I feel for martin and Alison.

  • People feel threatened by smart people like this! I know this because he makes me look like the dumb bastard that I am!

  • Hehe great to see this again ! I recall quite vividly watching this back in '99 (I think it was then) and feeling so sorry for the guy and the granny. Not a look in. Bill is amazing, I don't know how he does it ! Thanks for sharing !

  • The guy in the middle is thinking.. 'wanker' lol

  • I couldn't possibly comment!!! ;-) Fair do's... Bill's a nice guy. First person I'm ringing up as phone a friend anyway!

  • Sometimes he seems to seriously consider each time he's asked 'Question or nominate?'

  • That's a great quiz show theme. One of the best!

  • i so used to love this show when i was young ,why did thay ever cancel it?

  • Unfortunately not. He won a final in 1998, but Nick Terry [the guy who Bill McKaig knocked off the top of the Finals Board] won both grand finals in 1999.

  • a ja tobie wrzuta

  • heheh a ja tobie podpowiadałem

  • Stałem za nim i mu podpowiadałem.

  • I'm speechless....

  • CHEATER :D Shout my dad :P

  • Respect.

  • "I look a pillock!"

  • That is impressive

  • Awesome, could topple that new Egghead that's for certain (and probably Judith too)...

  • I remember this too - what a legend

  • i remember watching this! wow

  • savage...just like daphney

  • What a Freak!

  • this is unbeliveble! :)

  • @ 7:44 yay *clapping*

  • Spot on mate. Dunno if you know it or not, but......no studio audience at 15-1. Canned!

  • Bill is simply awsome!!, this show should be brought back asap.

  • wig

  • I'll have to try and:

1] find my appearance on 15-1

    2] upload it.

I was on it, shown in June 1991.

  • wow !!!!

  • Well I watched this twice and both times I had my money on Martin Penny.

Yellowcake - you look a lot lovelier nowadays than back then with that Hugh Cornwell syrup. My wife told me to say that.

    Crass

  • no,nick terry won the final , 1 of his 4 wins.bill did win the final the previous year and came second to nick terry on another occasion as well.

  • I did a 15-1 audition in Edinburgh some years ago and had the pleasure of meeting Bill McCaig that day.

It was,nt long after he did this show and it was like celebrity status as everyone in the room came up to shake his hand and say hello.

However he felt a little embarrassed by the whole thing but was still a charming and very witty man.

  • Alison Shand is a weird little thing.

  • They replaced this brilliant show with the most moronic programmme in the history of television - Deal or no Deal with Edmonds.

  • absolutely amazing!!!

  • Brilliant. Dispite knowing He's going to get the Maximum Score you watch anyway to see how.

  • It's a real shame they axed Fifteen to One. It was a great no-frills general knowledge test. Modern quiz shows try too hard to be cutting edge, but this was what it was all about.

  • He seems so bored thoughout lmao!

  • what does that mean, "Question or nominate"? What happens if he says "Nominate"?

  • You nominate someone to answer the question, if they get it wrong they lose a life and you get the nominate or answer the question again.

If they get the question right they get 10 points and THEY get to choose whether to question or nominate.

  • My dad won fifteen to one grand final (91ish)

We were so proud of him.

  • is your dad thomas dyer or 3 times winner anthony martin ?

  • Notice how brilliantly William G Stewart makes aure the other 2 contestants are included while, at the same time, gives Bill his dues. Really very clever presenting - so good that you really just take it for granted.

  • if only we were all as smart as Bill! simply awesome you have to admire this. I wish this show would come back, William G. Stewart was no-nonsense and the questions were always varied and difficult, quality stuff.

  • What happend to Fifteen to one, as I used to love watching it I don't remember Bill getting the maximum though. I used to think the finals were well worth watching though!!!

    DA

  • reckon 15to1 winners nick terry, matti watton, bill mckaig, michael penrice and anthony martin should get together and kick the EGGHEADS butts.

  • "reckon 15to1 winners nick terry, matti watton, bill mckaig, michael penrice and anthony martin should get together and kick the EGGHEADS butts."

they are not eligible to appear on eggheads. eggheads intentionally select lesser contestants (normally pub teams) rather than members of the quizzing community.

  • yes , and have you seen the search for an egghead.dermot says we have searched the land for a sixth egghead.well they didnt do much bloody searching.only pat gibson is worthy of being the sixth egghead.he should stroll it.

  • as good as nick, matti, bill and michael are or should i say were they really are no match for Kevin or the new egghead winner who I cannot mention as it hasn't been broadcast.

  • yes i agree , kevin ashman is in a class of his own -his mastermind record is awesome and he won the special millenium edition of 15 to 1.and by your comment i take it pat gibson wins, but that was never really in doubt.

  • i meant together as a team they would beat the eggheads , because kevin is the daddy.

  • Martin and Alison didn't answer on fifteen

to one but Bill McKaig From Glasgow, won

433 points for the Maximum Score On Number

    1. Chris Tarrent On Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Judith Keppel won a Million

Pounds For The Time In Late 2000.

  • I Miss This Show, William G Stewart Is A Legend

  • Don't mind what the other poster has posted beneath - William G. is indeed a legend. What CDUFO fails to appreciate is that he didn't just read the questions, he also produced this show as well as producing and/or directing a number of other entertainment or quiz shows including The Price is Right and Family Fortunes. Yes, the contestants deserve most of the praise but that's not to say we can't call William Gladstone a legend as well...

  • kevin ashman won the special millenium edition on new years eve 1999 beating all the other super brains to prove he is in a league of his own.

  • My Mother used to be watching this when I came home from school. It was the only thing that could keep her quiet because she couldn't answer one fucking question!

    Bring it back!

  • ARROGANT? Nonsense, the man did something no one else did EVER! He simply achieved greatness, he wanted it, he went for it and he got it.

Some people are too arrogant to recognise talent and ability in others and too proud to honour the achievement of successful people.

  • William G.Stewart is a legend - I think they should bring this show back.

  • yes nick terry was very very good as was matti watton .2 of the younger greats of 15to1

  • well that's one way to secure a spot on a finals board.

  • I don't get how arrogant he is/was, he's still a bloody legend.
