  • im gonna show this to my English teacher to prove to her that not all books have a deep symbolic meaning behind it

  • Wooooww!

  • We should make every day of the week, Friday.

  • This song ain't no Eleanor Rigby, is it? You be, I be, he be, she be, me be bored hearing these grating lyrics.

  • Did you die while watching the video? If you did get back to me :)

  • simon honestly you are amazing. soooo amazing. i wishhh i knew you :/

this is actually really good analysis not even gonna lie hate the song but this actually...made me like it. i dont know if that was the point nd im not sure if u pulled that analysis out of ur ass but daammm. it was really good.

  • you look much smarter in a tie:)

  • i think you meant to say you don't know why there is a grown man in a 13 yr old's video, not a black man

  • LMAO This is so good.

  • Is he a pedophile?

  • hhhhhhhhhhhhh big metaphor loooooool good job

  • FIRST TIME I SAW A NERD IN REAL LIFE

  • i thought the school bus passing in front of him was representing his longing for wanting to be a kid again, which is why he was in the video in the first place. the school bus was a metaphor for wanting to be back in school.

  • @SuperDawgE Did you see how many times the camera jumped? LOL i guarantee thats cause he had to keep starting over from cracking a smile.

  • lmao

  • Pi

  • WHY YOU GOTTA THINK ABOUT IT SO MUCH?? THIS SONG IS JUST A WASTE OF MONEY!!

  • he must be very good at english. analysing texts.

  • Thumbs up if you concur...

  • Why do some people not find this funny? It's just Simon being his wonderfully sarcastic self :D

  • The deeper meanig is that it is friday! can't you see it?

  • She is the greatest cavalier poet of our time. Just pushing that "carpe diem" message, wow, I don't think my life would be the same without her song.

    Rebecca Black saves lives.

  • lol, understand "everybody russian" then rushing xDD

  • do you get it? its friday, friday. lmao

  • I like your bow tie!

  • "Rebecca Black - Fri..."

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Rebecca Black.

    Lammme xP

  • .......dude are you really trying to find deep meaning in a teenie bopper pop song.....REALLY?

  • @TheYTNexus its a joke lol

  • was this a joke or was this serious? cause i was laughing through the whole thing.

  • How in the blazing Hell did you do with a straight face?!?

  • FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is he wearing bronz eye shadow?

  • I personally find your analysis much better than Rebecca Black's own analysis. Yours seems more believable and more respectable. Still, I can't help but think that you don't believe your own analysis as it suggests that the songwriter is a very clever person trying to depict the stressful life of a teenager, but if he really was that clever he would've written the song in a way for it to not need an analysis for clarification

  • I mashed the like button like a hundred times but it only went +1... WTF??!?

  • That was freaking awesome!

  • i dont know how you were able to do this video with a straight face!

  • My last comment came across quite nastily. Sorry! :')

  • I'm pretty sure she didn't think about all the metaphors etc. She just penned down some random words. She's 13, not 33!

  • @JodieRhiannon well yeah, duh.

  • Comment removed

  • @MsLolgeek Don't "duh" me.

  • @mrblackstallion123....thank you captain obvious

  • ROFL

  • rebecca black is a fucking lyrical genius !

  • this is hysterical

  • The lyrics mean what she is saying and Rebecca black is not talented what so ever see is a teribbl singer and songs like she has a stuffed nose

  • funny!

  • how did he even find something nice to say about this?????

  • This is confusing LOL

  • i agree with your side not towards the end of the video. i definitely agree with you. it is sad

  • Rebecca Black is the newest Member of the Illuminati... They ARE controlling her... And her song Friday shows that she is being pressured...

Example: "Which seat should I take?"

She wants to sit on the front and control her life... But she has to live by the orders of the Illuminati so she sat on the back, etc.

And she uses "gotta" "gotta" bla bla bla! a lot... she is forced to do thizzzz shizzzz

  • @17marcoxd LOL.LOL.LOL.LOLOLOLOLMFAOLOLO THAT'S LIKE WHEN SHE SAID "Frontseat or backseat is a metaphor for USA picking Afghanistan or Iraq " I mean bitch, that's bullshit. ;P ;D

  • The fact also remains that The Random Rapping Black Man(RRBM) is also looking forward to the weekend; a chance to prey on young minds filling their ears with his rythmic rap music, slowly luring the young and weak willed like a Pied Piper driving whilst wearing a cheap watch of evil which tells him the time to strike. Yes, watching the coming weekend with envious eyes, as he prepares his Rap-Fangs for the coming boon of Teen-Meat. There's a lot of sick people on the internet these days...

  • That is Random Rapping Black Man represents Death of the weekend, which is this omnipresent part of the 13-year olds world; that is to say the weekend is created around the 13 year old like a form of cosmic shell by some unknown force that is the weekly calender. Random Rapping Black Man is therefore a sort of Vishnu like character, bringing destruction to the universe that is the weekend thus creating the endless cycle of death and birth that is the end and coming of the weekend.

  • I thought the Random Rapping Black Man represented Death, in the sense that he is this sort of spectral, adult figure in an otherwise carefree preteen world which to me represents decadence and hubris in youth culture. The 13 year olds seem confident in their dominion over the weekend; this small spinning fragment of school calender driftwood in the endless ocean that is the week which by creation or design, Man has inherited for his will to do things which are far more concurrent.

  • XD hahahahaha <3 u simon

  • Collegehumor stole your idea.

  • Lammmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • WOW!!!!!!!!! DUDE YOUR LIKE FUCKING SOCRATES!!!!!!! it all makes sense now, it's thursday but I just need to enjoy it like it's friday. But I'm not looking forward to friday I'm looking forward to satarday because thats my birthday so I just need to celebrate my birthday today instead. And I was gonna go to the botanical gardens tomorrow because it's a freeday but I guess I can just have the freeday today because it's friday friday gotta get down on friday. Your a fucking scholar.

  • I was hoping it was a joke but it wouldn't suprise me if it wasn't alike to people trying to say Judas - Lady Gaga was not meant in a literal sense. Makes me laugh hysterically!

  • COMIC BOOK VERSION

    watch?v=xNyEJXXnrXs

  • "the pressures we have on us today, like taking a bus:L"

  • Laughed my ass off. Nice job.

  • Rebecca Black's phone number: 724-496-8612

  • I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!

  • nice assessment dude..

  • nice assessment dude...

  • I think we need to remember that her parents paid so-called "professionals" to write this song for her. Everyone's blaming the 13 year-old, when we should be leveling considerable critique at those who wrote and produced this song and this video. Come on - how did they think this song didn't need a major overhaul before recording it?

  • @equesfuscus She did write the song, she said so herself.

  • @msanimelurver1 Can you point me to where/when she said that? Did she write it, or "co-write" it?

  • @equesfuscus I just checked and "Clarence Jey and Patrice Wilson" are listed as the writers.

  • @equesfuscus It was on one of her interviews , I'm not sure, but I think it was the tonight show...

  • @msanimelurver1 She may have said that. She doesn't appear to get legal credit for writing the song. If she did write it, she was a kid, so people shouldn't be too harsh, even if they don't like the song. If she didn't, she should get new writers.

  • @equesfuscus True, true, but honestly, she had to have some say so in all this, unless she's that desperate to be famous, the song really wasn't cute at all, it was really really ditsy and I'm sure she could of seen it. I mean "what seat should I take!?" "Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun!" she's 13 not 3 she can think of better lyrics than those. But in the end, we all should be hating the one who made her damn video in the first place...

  • @msanimelurver1 she didnt write it, ark music factory did

  • @7ms7bunny7 Did you not read the whole conversation?

  • I was just thinking that I'd like to see a Sheldon Cooper's Reaction or analysis To Rebecca Black 'Friday'

  • 1. She is 13 Dude that's the same age as my younger brother! 2. Really it is a song leave it as is!

  • OMG this was hilarious!! Over-analyzing stuff is always fun and you did a wonderful job :)

My first two thoughts while watching her music video were #1, wow, these lyrics really suck (which i forgave her for later, learning she was only 13 and couldn't possibly know any better) and #2, this singing is terrible. If it's like this WITH editing, I feel sorry for the people who had to hear her in person!

  • ...I like how everybody is trying to defend her video. It's obvious that she has speech impediment.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

  • @itsimplypiona No LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @MelissaLovesIndie or ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. :)

  • @itsimplypiona OR ROTFLMAOWPIMIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP :)

  • @MelissaLovesIndie ott lissa. :)

  • @itsimplypiona BMT DMPO (johns voice)

    skeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen iona :)

  • @itsimplypiona DMPO

  • Some things in life are more than what they appear. Friday is not one of them.

  • :') i find this so funny

  • oh yeah, this video is about as entertaining as having to take a crap in a public bathroom. nice.

  • read the last one first.

  • it is also completely structured wrong. nobody speaks like that unless they are; trying to impress people because they think they are brilliant, a lawyer, a college english professor, or a candidate for election. in conclusion, this is either satire, or you are a moron. nice punctuation smarty pants.

  • @globalreaction. no, she is just a stupid kid that will never even know what you just said. great vocabulary, by the way. bad everything else. don't try to respond with more intelligent words. i understand exactly what you just said, and it sounds like you are trying WAY too hard.

  • @giavanti0003 He, he. Did you think I was serious? I was kidding around, like the the guy in this video, which I found rather funny.

  • borrrrrrrrrrrrringggggggggggggggggg

  • That "Black Guy" is Patrice Wilson, one of the producers.

I suspect he's in all the Ark Music Factory videos.

  • Win! Nice to see some ingelligent humour on youtube for once :)

  • this video is proof of why english is the most bullshit subject ever

  • @ceilingkatt No, this video is proof of why correct study of English can enable you to make hilarious ironic satirical videos. You're a twat.

  • I love this

  • haha OMG i love this <3 good job getting a gold ore from a barren rock

  • No metaphors, no nothing.. she is just a idiot who is retarded at making songs.

  • ahahahah that made me rotfl i think im in love with you!

  • LOL !!!! great video man !!!!!

  • i don't bout you guys, but i find this rather motivating...

  • WTF man. i have never seen such fluent and discreet sarcasm!

  • I think you should have taken it a bit further by saying something like saturday is a metaphor for global warming

  • Lol ! i LOVE your bow tie ! and i got it (:

  • dude, this is really good... people actually think that you're serious! LOL!!!

  • lol! love this! made my day!

  • @cloud70589 Obviously you can't recognize QUALITY trolling.

  • @cloud70589 actually..... he IS trolling the song

  • What this guy apparently doesn't realize it that SHE WAS NOT THINKING THIS WHEN SHE WROTE THE SONG! Point and case.

  • @AllSeeingHacker i hope you realize that the whole video is sarcastic

  • I thought he was serious untill i finally listened to the whole song...

  • GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

  • @nat1onofviolenc3 as the name agayaday would imply

  • I like your bow tie x]

  • Are you kidding me? Some people actually think he's serious, lol How could you not get the joke when he stats talking about a random black guy being in a 13 year olds video(pedophile) And why would you even watch a lyrical analysis if it wasn't a joke? Damn people, use your fucking brain.

  • How did yyou say this without laughing? & now I will never watch the video "Friday" the same way again.

  • Friday..that is the question?? XP

  • fag

  • You guys didn`t get the joke obviously he is being sarcastic , like when he was saying "it has something to do with the greater artistic vison" you get its a joke.

  • Gay

  • I love your analysis XD

I say the same thing on LA essays :3

  • so remember: it's always been friday, it is friday and it's always gonna be friday!!!

    according to this awesome dude...

  • who thinks this is serious?

  • she has a new song called party my brains out LOL

  • What the hell? Joking or not, her song and her lyrics are as awful as a crushed banana laying on the side of the street. There's no need to go through the trouble to try and find a way to make her song sound a little less bad.

  • that bowtie

  • I can't wait for someone to make a cover of this song using this "metaphorical" analysis on the song.

  • ahaha this is a funny joke forsure

  • Wtf is this seat to fit society ? Get the fuck outa here

  • I implore you: in order to do her justice, please listen to her exquisite lyrical stylings once more, but from a post-modernist cum Hegelian perspective, deconstructing her intended meanings with less regurgitation of the weltanschauung of our post-G.W. Bush, spiritually barren and decaying world.

  • What Rebecca Black has done is no less than transcend the mere medium of the teenage pop song to convey transcendental solidarity with all of humankind. She does this by mimicking standard mannerisms and articulations of youth in a materialistic society to assail - not embrace - materialism and consumerism. Her genius is to mock by imitation those values and forms of consciousness that dehumanize and degrade humanity. By taking her words at face value you embody what in fact she is condemning.

  • @globalreaction So she is condemning materialism, yet at the same time, her rich parents payed some guy a shitload of money to make her famous. Yes, use what you condemn to make you famous. No one likes her. No one cares about her. You wasted your apparently impeccable intellect talking about some girl who should have stayed a nobody in the materialistic society she so mocks.

  • @globalreaction honestly, i wouldn't give her that much credit. i'm not even sure if she has a brain ...

  • @leekyungsuh510 한국인? 그냥 농담이야. 그녀가 바보 알아.
