thank you so much for uploading this 'great lost video. The song and video are such a juxtaposition, it's one of their most beautiful tunes and one that I have had booming out of my speakers many, many times over the last 15 plus years. As I've said on other clips of them, they are the band Ii miss the most and their live shows were an absolute joy...
I recall an interview with Vaughan Oliver who said he thought as the band were labelled as part of the shoegazing thing -not moving about much - that he figured it was funny to have them dressed as athletes in sports gear for the album photos and this video session; hence the trampolines, running about in a disused swimming pool... kudos to fatcatbuzz for uploading this GEM, bless u m8
I thought I'd never ever see this video once I knew they actually made it. Kudos to the uploader for finding it. I loved back in the day, I still love now. It's a shame they never continued... Please Miki! Even if it's just acoustic sets come out and play for your fans!!! They'll love you for it! :)
it's strange.. I was listening to the new Deerhunter record and one of the song's is called desire lines.. and I was like wait.. I know that name.. so I google searched it and found out why :) it's a truly wonderful song.. this is one of my favorite albums of all time.
I first heard this on the late great John Peel's radio show, it's haunted me ever since...so beautifully melancholic. It's been etched on my memory for 15yrs, so glad i found tis vid!
Awesome to see a music video from one of my all-time favorite bands that I didn't even know existed. I knew it was a single, but I never saw that a video existed. The video is strange in that the mood of the video doesn't really match the mood of the song. Perhaps it matches if you take the mood to be a poignant nostalgia, reflecting on the band's violently tragic demise, so in retrospect maybe? Man, I miss this band. I'm glad for Sing-Sing and Miki's recent foray with Seinking Ships though.
@smurfblood Great song, but I agree. Split is my favorite album, but I alway thought "Lovelife" should have been a single. "Lit Up" could have been a good choice, too.
@MrSaranis Think again. The Cure of that period basically just played loops of jam sessions for 7 minutes, with Smith then writing a vocal melody over them. Lush, on the other hand, almost always had their songs written as actual songs, with very neat and often unexpected chord twists.
one of the most beautiful songs ever....Lush at their atmospherical best....the album 'Split' has to be one of my all time favourite albums...a classic....!
Wow. I have never seen this before. Incredible, incredible video. Of course I adore the song. Split is my favorite album of all time. This song is a gentle masterpiece.
@Ombrenuit Miki played a 12 string alot. In fact, it was a huge part of their sound. Emma was also an absolute talent on lead guitar. She is very underrated.
Emma Anderson wasn't particularly great at technique, but she wrote and played great melodies, and she had a wonderful sound. ("Desire Lines" was her composition) Ever heard Sing-Sing? That's Anderson's electronic-ambient-pop project after Lush, with vocalist Lisa O'Neill. The first Sing-Sing record had two killer songs in "Everything" and "Feels Like Summer".
Hallelujah, at long last, the elusive lost Desire Lines video. It hits me hard, how much I miss Lush, still to this day! 'Split' was their deepest height, their best work IMO. Love how Emma -- o Emma, where are thou? -- is underplaying it as usual, but that very last scene of her only just moving her hand to plunk that last note is perfect.
I saw this band in the US (where i lived for 16 years} in 1992 . Lollapalooza . I was 17 . Their sound remained in me for much time . Years down the line , in 2002 -in Chile- my place of origin, i came to liken the group again. Got Spooky, and was again very hooked on their great sound.
Now, years down the line I discovered their work from Split, and 2 days ago ordered it from Amazon France . Thank you for your comment and for uploading such great music . Thanks !!
What a powerful song . I dont own Split , and I dont have a grasp at the lhyrics or the subject matter of them . But this , as some reviews on amazon US and UK sites say is probably Lush s best work . Although probably 90 % of what they made was absolute masterpiece These guys were such good musicians . I ve got to check out Emma A s work in Sing sing . I still haven t heard that bands output Thanks for uploading this . What Beautiful song
I wanna sing with you... i like

I actually think this is one of Lush's best songs. Very sentimental and the textures are so rich.

Didn't know there was a video for this either. Why did "Split" get such awful reviews? It's by far my favorite of the 3 Lush CDs I own.
