  • Cardio like a motherfuckin beast!

  • like that he was just cool backstage behind the curtain and then turned it on.....

  • The song that he came onto the stage to was " Superbad " by MC Breeze. MC Breeze is a guy who can do it all- sing, rap and dance all in one show. He toured with Hammer under the name Joey B Ellis but he is forever the singing MC Breeze and he's Superbad.

  • He I snow Reverand Hammer!

  • BAY AREA STAND-UP!!!!!!

  • Hammer was the Man!!!! Terrible T was so fly... She had 2 T's in her hair. These ladies were bad ass. Wish I could go back in time. When I first saw them, I was obsessed with Lil P. Then later Sweet LD... And then from 1995 to present Terrible T. They have a facebook page if anybody wonders.

  • Man Terrible T was so fly... She had 2 T's in her hair. These ladies were bad ass. Wish I could go back in time.

  • i miss these days !!!

  • Puffy has a down played version of Hammer's dance style. Hammer is awesome! You go boy!

  • Oaktown's 357! love them!

  • I brought the ADIDAS (WHITE AND YELLOW LIGHT BLUE) JACKET IN 1988 WHILE LIVING IN MENLO PARK,CA. WOW.

  • Dis shit was fresh! i would'a jumped out my seat and did the runnin man lol

  • This is awesome to see again! Lil P and Sweet LD are bringing back Oaktowns 357 and performing their first show in eons live at Austin Gay Pride in Austin, TX, on Saturday, September 10th! No, they aren't gay--just some very cool, very sweet ladies! They are also making a special appearance at the Highball in Austin the night before for a 90's hip-hop dance party!

  • Dude was dope back in the day, back when hip hop was about having fun.

  • wow, his possee was a lot smaller back then

  • I loved when Hammer was on Arsenio, I taped it all the time, lol

  • This is when Hammer was thorough, I'll never forget watchin this episode of Arsenio Hall, Hammer killed it so crazy that I went out and brought his Album (Wax) the next day. As soon as he got rid of 2Bigg and the rest of his original dancers, it was all down hill !!!!

  • I respect that bimm, but if you gonna keep it way networth don't just try to make the shit favor you like emo joey being doing that's all yell

  • ass crack at 1:19.

  • I remember being in love with hes female dancers!

  • Hammer was the SHIT!!!!!!!!

  • 1:20 the DJ's ass crack is showing!

  • OH MAN!! I remember watching this when it came on for the first time!! I went to so many Hammer concerts with my MOM and best friend! haha! I really thought I was the long lost member of 357 I had my little black biker shorts with the red skirt over it and shiny patent leather shoes! I was the ish!! This was the good ole days when everyone danced & dressed alike. I am sooo happy that I grew up during this time. Music today cant come close to the 80's and 90's. I just watched this 3 xs in a row!

  • Man, this is so taking me back! Seeing him on Arsenio then was the show to watch, and it would be so amazing, cuz he would put on a show! All the dancers going their thing, Hammer doing his thing, the crowd being so hyped because of Hammer, he was just an incredible showman. Hate that hip hop started to change, and we got away from this. Man, I miss seeing shows like this, hearing songs like this!

  • hammer was the shit any body that was in to rap back then loved this nigga oh yea he killed this shit right here

  • What group shut the power off on hammer, it happened during the guy and new edition tour, arsenio spoke on it during an interview with hammer but didn't say who actually did it yell

  • @BOX5 It wasn't a group that knocked Hammer off, it was the shift in the Hip Hop culture that got him. It was when Gangsta Rap started becoming more prominent form of Hip Hop that fans started to veer away from rappers like Hammer. And, as Hip Hop got harder and harder, he wasn't able to make that change along with it, and got left behind. I can say this cuz I was in the thick of it! I went from seeing Hammer as the man, to seeing him as wack, soft, etc. That's what did him in.

  • Init abit whack to have those shades inside?

  • How many rappers since him can dance like that....Hammer did his thing fasho

  • @mouthmw u wouldnt have said that in 1988...trust me. ud be sayin....wow....AMAZING. like the rest of the world was.....haterrrrrrrrr........

  • Hammer was real popular with the gay set. Just ask Arsenio. lol Maybe it was the biking shorts he made famous. lmao!

  • @Badjohn007 for a fat blackman sitting in a chair poppin junk with no talents, you have alot of nerves,Hammer was 1 of the best dancers and entertainers in his era,LOL lets see you do better.

  • @cloverfield00 Um that fat black man sitting in the chair is Ed Lover. lol

  • @Badjohn007 wHOOPs! I KNOW ED LOVER I guess i'm in trouble now.

  • @cloverfield00 Suuuuuuuuure you do.

  • @Badjohn007 ED lover works at radio station power 105.1 fm in ny with free former host of 106&park,he was featured in movie "WHO"S the man" with dr,dre prior he use to host "YO MTV raps" he lived in QUeeNS NY and use to be a security guard at either SPRINGFIELD GARDENS H.S. or ANDREW JACKSON he dated HOODIE MACK,and use to hang out at RED LOBSTER in GREEN ACRES MALL VALLEY STREAM he traveled on AMERICAN AIRLINES IN the 90's with HOODIE MACK,she had huge breasts he has a sister that threw a party

  • @Badjohn007 LOL! i know woody from dru hill and thats where he got his name which his father game him.

  • @Badjohn007

I really liked Hammer. Theres no respectable black men in pop culture anymore.

  • Pump it Hammer...wooooo...can you feel it!

  • "Doesn't matter where you come from, just where you're at". Such a true statement that a lot of artists need to hear.

  • yo gotta luv them 357 bitchez

  • when did this air??? mc hammer was on the show soo many timess

  • I always loved thiose Oakland 357 Girls in their spandex, spanking those cakes behind Hammer's beats and spit.

  • I love the plants in the audience :)

  • HAMMER ALWAYS GAVE A GOOD SHOW

  • I'm just trying to figure out why is the DJ's ass out! Hellooooo

  • Hammer had lots of energy and was entertaining but the best dancer? C'mon people.

  • @Badjohn007 Yeah I see that you look at those moves and say... That's basic, but that's not the best I've seen hammer, and remember all those moves have never been seen before. So it was new and innovative.

  • @Badjohn007 easily the best dancer back in the day and still to this day. no copy moves all his and street moves. these dancers today hire choreographer to get there moves! are you insane no to know he is?

  • @mrwhatever213 Truthfully, his moves lacked grace. He danced HARD like a wild country fool but to some he was a great dancer. It really comes down to taste and style. Like I said he was entertaining but comical as well. You can see these types of movements at step shows. Hammer actually looks like he's stepping. Real talk, this is some bama ass shit. lol

  • ESSE CARA DANÇA DE MAIS O MC HAMMER É O MEU IDOLO

  • ESSE CARA DANÇA DE MAIS O MC HAMMER É O MEU IDOLO

  • 2 BIG MC & MC HAMMER STARTED OUT AS A DUO,THEN HAMMER WENT SOLO..A BIT OF TRIVIA. REMEMBER 2 BIG MC ? THE GUY WITH THE WHITE STUNNAH' SHADES...OAKLAND CALIFORNIA IS IN DA' HOUSE.

  • SHOWMANSHIP TO THE 5TH POWER. ALL HIS HITS IN 5:49 AGAIN SHOWMANSHIP PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

  • chicks in biker shorts..awww yeah

  • its cock the hammer time! lol

  • Thanks so much for posting this! This was great!

  • Hamma? PROPAH!

  • You could not beat hammer in a dance off it was impossible

  • @TheTrueballer22 Yep. Not even MICHAEL JACKSON! HAMMERTIME!

  • now this is what real entertainment USED to be!!

  • MC Hammer would have killed just about anyone in a dance-off, hahaha

  • @vincentrich -he still can!

  • @vincentrich Not "just about!" He would had killed ANYONE including Michael Jackson!

  • @FreshTiDef

In a street dance off, he would have annihilated MJ. In a more mainstream, concert dance-off, probably not.

  • Lemme tell y'all something. One of my boys cousins used to dance for Hammer. Hammer had them on a military regimen - they ran 4 miles a day.. Ask him, Hammer will tell you... Where do you think he got the bells from...came from his days in the Navy. And yes, this is when he was raw, ghetto and black people loved him. He messed up when he moved to the Oakland Hills.

  • @teemoney92

I don't think that it was the move that did him in. When the "gangster" rappers started to criticize him, his popularity slowly took a hit. Those "artists" framed things in terms of "black vs white" and made it seem like Hammer has turned his back on his community. Realistically, Hammer had simply achieved mainstream popularity. Low and behold the same rappers who criticized Hammer (Ice Tea and Ice Cube) jumped at the opportunity to go mainstream. Jealousy is a b****

  • good entertainer

  • And look@ him, he's not out of breath when rappin or interviewing!! Hammer is my man always have, always will be. Represent my hometown oakland california baby!!

  • I remember watching this on tv like it was yesterday. Hammer is still my favorite entertainer. He was even better in concert when he came to Portland, Maine at the cumberland county civic center.

  • HAMMER TIME

  • I taped this when I was in high school and this is my fav performance from MC Hammer and 357.

  • he was on top of the world. He was living the dream.

  • 357 all day!!!!!!!!!!

  • people always cried hammer sold out, whatever, hammer sold records, thats the problem they really had!!!

  • who is arsenio sitting with as he watches this performance

  • i'm glad hammer didn't keep his money in the bank...it looked much better socked away in his thong.

  • Hammer was that dude. his show was crazy!

  • pues vale madre lo k opinen todos los demas hijos de obama, mc hammer es mc hammer aki y en china uno de los mejores show man fue bastante genial y puso a bailar a multitudes

  • haha...ive always liked an did 1:34-1:38...that was move lol

  • i cant believe that vanilla ice was claiming that he got more screams than hammer this man was a true gift to the rap scene he gave people mad jobs and he raised the bar for stage performances

  • No doubt. This man taught Vanilla Ice AND Bobby Brown most of their moves. Both of them have openly admitted that.

  • does anyone have when he performed on robert towsends HBO special with 357!!! that was my favorite performance

  • i always thought sweet ld look like taj from swv

  • his spins are damn smooth and cool

  • This is when he only had a few people on stage with him...LOL

  • really sad to see he makin fecal porn nowadays

  • Hammer at his best, without the oversized entourage. Just a few dancers and a hypeman.

  • 15 people aint oversized? codycole you need a checky check

  • Where the hell you get the number 15 from? I never said that. But I know at one point he had more than 15 people on stage with him. He said it himself. Look at the other Arsenio performance. If you're saying there aren't more than 15 people with him, YOU NEED YOUR EYES CHECKED.

All I was saying is that I liked him better during his early years with Oaktown 357 as his dancers and Too Big M.C. as his hypeman. That's my opinion. And when has Hammer ever done porn? LIAR.

  • if we went camping, just you and I. you woke up in the morning with your pants down to your ankles and your ass covered in lube and hurting like hell. Would you tell anyone?

  • @cheeseweaselmudbutt

LOL !! You're are terribly distrubed. No need to respond. You're now on my ignore list!!!

  • camping trip scheduled

  • hahahahah ..

    cheeseweaselmudbutt

  • @Codycole80 I didn't mean to post negative on your comment. In fact I agree with you 100%. Hammer was never the best lyrically, but he came hard with the other elements in hip, hop like the dj, music and dancers which was hot back than. I just think please hammer don't hurt em was to watered down.

  • MC Hammer, Michael Jackson, they don't hold a candle to THE Godfather of Soul JAMES BROWN! Where do you think they learned their moves?! From the MASTER! Just check the T.A.M.I. Show.

  • True day, evertime I see some one compare James to Mike, they give em a thumbs down like you, but I gave you a thumbs up. How long it's gonna stay that way who's to say. Mike & James were the man, BELEVIE THIS OR NOT, youtube Fred Astire, & check him out!

  • Thats Fred Astaire, my bad I'm human.

  • What a great dancer! He is so talented

  • hamme is one hell of a dancer, i wonder if he can challenge michael jackson. id like to see that. too bad tho........

  • gagagaggahahahhahaha

  • yo1whos that nigga who pops out of knowwhere cuttin up! that part isso funny.

  • i can dance like that in the clubs. it always impresses da ladies

  • too bad u gay

  • One can't go too long without a Too Big MC sighting...

  • I remember riding through Oakland and seeing one of the 2 Big MCs drive by in his white corvette...

  • .........Now that I think of it.......do any artist nowadays dance as much as Hammer?

  • @greatkiller -they can't....two minutes of dancin' with Hammer and you're gonna need a medic to be revived.

  • @greatkiller no no no they are to busy tryimg to stay pretty

  • @greatkiller no but i bet it would be a big hip if someone did

  • @greatkiller NO !!! and none of them are as entertaining

  • I remember this show when i was 15. Great dude! Alot of people said he "sold out' but what he did was put rap on the forefront.

  • 0:53-0:58

use to be my fav move

  • OMG, Mine Too!!!

  • Cbro10-----i agree.

  • its hott even now

  • At the time MC Hammer did get any props from the hip hop community, but this man is still bad to this day. Go Hamma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, I remember the days when artists actually put on a show and dressed like they were about something. Today they just walk back and forth across the stage with their pants falling down and ain't about jack!!!

  • love it

  • I remember this like yesterday a was a lil girl when this shit came out. I was up dancing like the oaktown 357

  • Wow...I miss the arsenio hall show...this bring back memories

  • 3:00 Ho Frat Ho

  • I will always remember this performance. I think Hammer had an erection for the duration of the performance. Me and my giggly girlfriends noticed it right away.

  • man i would have caught a cramp doing all that dancin

  • bringing back memories.. i remember this day

  • Daaammnn! Talk about high energy!

Always liked this song. Sure, he's from Oakland, not NY as Arsenio points out, but he's all about the NY sound at this point in time... all sorts of influences in here from Nucleus (Jam On It), Run DMC (obviously), and even a little bit of Curtis Blow).

But damn, none of that really matters: nobody does the "running man" like MC Hammer!

  • Hammer is the man!!! he should have micheal glove!!! He still got the moves and he does it all in church shoes. MC Hammer wheather it's pumps and hump or 2 legit to quit he is the man!

  • I had this performance on VHS for years but lost it. We would watch this over and over!! A classic, hammer knew how to put on a show!!

  • OMG!!!!! MY MOM HAS THIS ON VHS!! She recorded over a Cosby Show thanksgiving episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lmaoooo wooooow they have it!! IM EXCITED!!! THIS SHOW WAS CRACKIN ALL THE TIME!!!

  • Lil' Pete was killin' it!!!

  • Wasn't she though!! i still remember this whole routine...LOL man and when you get done you be sweating and breathing all hard...now that is what i call a serious cardio workout..LOL

  • Man, hammer was bumpin' back in the day! I miss this type of entertainment!!

  • NO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY i recorded this the night it aired (VHS YA'LL)...i never noticed allllll these years my sister just pointed something out. 1:21 the DJ's buttie crack was right up in the camera..get outta here

  • LOL you are crazy that is so funny!!

  • LOL...did you see it though..LOL

  • Chica yes I did...im ashamed to say all these years I thought it was a BELT lmaooo!!

  • What one of those thick black belts?!?!? cuz girl you and i know that is alot of meat, i mean belt...(((HOLLERING!!!))))

  • LMFAOOO!!

  • wow - i still have this on VHS and never noticed that - wow

  • LOL...me either..i guess it just took us getting older to notice..LOL

  • mao now thas funny gettin old lol

  • Why did they take Arsenio Hall of the air man? His show was brilliant, just as good as Jay Leno and them. Man they do us black folks so wrong

  • He retired the show because the network was changing the show too much for him.

  • Actually the story goes something like this. Arsenio wanted to have Louis Farrakhan on his show. The network head said no and Arsenio brought him on anyway and subsquently was cancelled.

  • If Arsenio were to make a come back, he would take Conan, Leno and Letterman outta business OVERNIGHT. Late night TV sucked big balls ever since Arsenio left.

  • wow, that was real entertainment!

  • YOU AINT LIEING! For instance, the dancers had to DANCE THEIR BUTT OFF TO BE ON STAGE! Now, talent is no DISPLAYED in a orderly fashion, you know.

  • He rocked it!!

  • Happy Birthday Hammer! Wish you many many more! God bless!

  • I remember watching MC Hammer perform on Arsenio Hall Show. I love it! I was mad because I wish could have been the audience to see them live. I love the dancing! Wow!

  • to this day i cant get enuff of watchin him dance

  • I love him always will!! nHe has got to be the best dancer on the planet!!!! I agree with you all the way!!

  • I saw hammer last night in concert. It was great. I wish I could have seen him in his prime. His son can bust a move too!

  • " It doesn't matter where ya come from, just where ya at " - MC Hammer.

Realist SHIT. Could not have said it any better.

  • I loved when he said that too.

  • MC Hammer vs Michael Jackson at the Grammy's someday. HOW I WISH! 2 of the greatest dancers/performers & entertainers of all-time.

  • To be honest, I thought HAMMER was the BEST what he did than MICHAEL. SO HAMMER GOT MY VOTE

  • omg lol I used to like this...lol stone age. LMAO

    Sheesh I'm old. LMAO

  • O O O O O> O O O O O>O O O O O

Look at 357 in them biker shorts! Hammer was the man then a Phenom

  • 357 straight at you hahahaha

  • Bay Areaaaaa! Go hammer go! LOL @ the Biker shorts.

  • noone can put a show on like hammer back then thats for sure

  • This is when black people loved him, just before he really just crossed over. He became real commercial, and that's when he got the back lash. He's not the reason dancing got played out. You still had Big dady Kane with scoop and scrap etc.. But He's was part ove the reason EPMD came with "No Cross Over" That song is what made hip hop go back to the underground sound and swung it back to the East Coast, until Death Row took it back for the West, then the south and Master P "bout it" took it.

  • you right for the most part, but don't believe what rappers say in interviews. I love EPMD and Ice Cube...but they didn't like Hammer because of the money he was making. No getting around that....Hammer had half of Oakland on his payroll. Rappers got jealous quick. The fact is West coast rap and hardcore rap was already making money by the early 90's and Hammer never tried to imitate that style...he was completely different and made more money than any of those groups did...

  • I agree with you. but there has always been this fear with underground and ganster rappers that commercialism will kill hip hop. Skills will get replaced with gimicks, deep lyrics will get replaced with catchy hooks. Commercialism kills the artist chance to be his/herself since it makes everyone sound the same. like what's going on now. But I agree . Hammer was the most misunderstood artist in Hip hops history. He did so much for his community, and made rappers relavent all ova the world.

  • your comments bring back memories...wow....who would have guessed that hip hop could outlast the music business itself....lol...

  • @alvindalvin epmd made it without advertising or making a hit song thats what eric sermon said in an interview it has nothing to do with mc hammer.

  • @ThrillaDaMcColdKilla they did not make it like hammer! the first rapper to sell over 10 million records.

  • @alvindalvin

Black people still liked MC Hammer. Gangster rappers were jealous of Hammer's success and started to take shots at him. People who liked gangster rap (black and white) started to call Hammer a "sell-out" after that. Of course, most people assume that most hip-hop fans are black (even though it's not true, lol). It's funny to see guys like Ice Cube, who criticized Hammer for "selling out" today. Ice Cube is as big of a "sell-out" as anyone.

  • @vincentrich soooo true hammer understood that hip hop was more than standing in one place on stage wit a mic. now all these wack ass rappers wish they could sell as much as he did. hell oaktown's 357 sold more units than most of the male rappers out today!!!!

  • @vincentrich word !!!
