I like it. Apart from being technically almost perfect, he plays it in a distinct, maybe not orthodox, but refreshing style. There are may interpretations of this piece out there that I personally find too shmaltzy. Why not try something new?
I agree with others saying that in this execution I felt no music, I couldn't hear the message this piece should have transmitted. this is only my opinion, thought, so maybe another one can succeed well in what I didn't. ;D
It was okay, but honestly it was too 'choppy' and bouncy if you know what I mean. I actually agree with most of people saying it was technically perfect but not so good emotionally.
¡Qué belleza! Esta música, si existe el cielo debe de escucharse mucho allí. Chopin no parará de tocar...mientras tanto "aquí", disfrutaremos con sus grandes obras!!!
i'm sick of all the comments about people who didn't feel any emotion from this guy's performance. if you look at him he clearly was feeling it. he might not be world class pianist so if you compare this performance to something like that it might fall short but clearly this guy is playing with emotion, in my opinion.
This is a piece where speed, rhythm, and volume are of such importance, few can play it with the beauty it deserves. There is so much text-book knowledge in popular classical these days, and we are forgetting that music is about the heart and soul...not about wearing a suit and not missing a key.
yeah (: music isn't science or maths with a right or wrong answer to it. it's up to an individual to interpret it in his own way. so i don't think there are "right" or "wrong things" in music. unless he plays a wrong note haha.
people are trying to play the most beautiful partTOO FAST, and it sounds like they are playing itfast to get over it to jump onto the next part......the right way to is to speed up gradually as u hit the scale part ...u get faster a bit more gradually that's it....not fast fast all the way thru !!! and adding the TOUCH and softness and the "light" handedness...this was the BEST I HEARD SO FAR..... :)))
babinator12, I think he just needs a little more pedal perhaps? I guess it's a tad dry. But it still sounds pretty because it's a beautiful piece. I want to play this also and hope I can play it half as well as he did. lol
Wow. That was possibly the driest interpretation of Chopin I have ever heard ... Sorry for the blunt comment, but really now. It was so clean. So technical. Beautifully played. Beautiful, and dry.
Did he even use the pedal? Doesn't sound like it. And if this is supposed to be "romantic",I think that he didn't convey the romantic mood/feeling very well.
It's more like(forgive me for saying this, but) classic music put to a techno backround. I know that sounds weird, but that's what I hear.
I agree with other commentaries, it has no feeling in it... and Chopin was all about soul and emotiont! Maybe that pianist is more keen on Mozart sonatas... but Chopin, I think not everybody can play him well.
That means it wasn't good. In Romantic music -- really almost any music, but especially Chopin and other Romantic music -- you can't say "technically good" because the heart and feeling is too important to be able to reproduce it at all without it and do even a passable job. But you're right about one thing: He does need to put more feeling into it.
boy, you can be technically proficient in music from any era. Besides, look who has 16 goddam thumbs up....w00t.
p.s. I kid...i'm just a little critical because i'm learning this piece myself, and it's not how I would play it... and I'm listening to the Tchiakovsky sleeping beauty you have posted on your channel as I write this.. its gooood :)
Well, son, "technically proficient" doesn't cut it if you want to be worth your salt. Computers can get all the notes, phrasing, ornaments, and dynamics right. Have you ever heard a computer play a piece of music? You have 15 thumbs up because you're right: he hit all the right notes at the right times. If you ever want to be a good pianist, learn to make a piece stand out from all other performances. I could be wrong, but I feel you have a ways to go before truly understanding it.
is he blind? not to be mean or anything... i thought that was a good performance...not so much staccato on the left hand though and don't go so crazy on the accelerondo

Great technic but you don't understand Chopin's music. You aren't Polish and maybe that is the problem. Watch Rafał Blechacz interpretation of this waltz. You are very good pianist.
As GabsterRox912 and aerogrl87 said, I have a few comments to make, give more emotion to it and some more feeling to it. You are playing it a bit too rough. Nonetheless very impressive work here!
Very Nice, and very good finger work, but i don't see this song as a stroll through the park, i see it as someone being struck by happiness, than sadness, and etc......

He plays very good...there are just a few things that are messed up. There are no staccatos in the beginning, first of all! This song is supposed to be beautiful and romantic, yet fun as a waltz. He's speeding up a little too much on the arpeggios after that and on the sixteenth notes in the beginning. He'll be perfect if he does those things. Great technique, though!!
I don't completely agree with your interpretation and tempo at times, but that last part with the thumb notes is really good. I haven't heard any pianist bring those notes out before. Very good find there
