  • I get chills everytime i watch this. That opening of the song just fits so perfectly. Awesome night chill driving music aswel

  • Thee Best Scene in the Movie....

  • I get chills every single time I see the coyote & song kicks in.

  • This scene and this movie is a masterpiece !!!!!!

  • make a collateral sequel with jason statham

  • 4 people were killed by Vincent

  • Man, that songs fits perfectly in that scene.

  • this was a fucking awesome movie

  • Great film, with the addition of Audioslave, it just takes it another level.

Jamie Foxx is in Collateral and Miami Vice, both films also have Audioslave tracks in their soundtrack. I wonder if Foxx is a fan of them.

  • @soundslave Michael Mann is a big fan of Audioslave. Both films are Mann films. One of the greatest directors of our time.

  • @FoShizzleFrizzle ah, so that's the connection. Thanks for the info.

  • Best scene ever!

  • goosebumps

  • this film the way it was shot made it feel so real , it felt real

  • awesome song for an awsome movie

  • OOMmmmmmmGG thx i ve been looking for this song so long !! thank you !!!! i love you , greats from the netherlands

  • I watch the movie just to see this scene. breath taking..

  • Beautiful scene..Great music.. and What Great Acting!

  • Me acorde de esta peli y en particular de esta escena. Si bien sabia que la canción le pertenecia a Audioslave no me sabia el nombre de la misma. Xevere tema.

  • this scene makes me feel sorry for vincent, because for me this scene implies that the coyote is far away from where it truly belongs, it will adapt to it's new environment but will always be unhappy and looking for that place where it truly belongs and is happy, and you can see it in his character to, that he is thinking how did I get lost in this life?, where is that place I truly belong far from this mess?. very powerful scene <3

  • @SPIKES69696969 hmmm that's a very good mental description of his character. I definitely get that vibe from Vincent.

  • @zekeWN The lonely wolf... what a familiar feeling... what a great song...

  • @SPIKES69696969 about the coyotes; you've listened to the commentary on dvd? i think Mann says sthng about the coyotes vs. the city "Coyotes have always been here, but L.A. ... here today, gone tomorrow" and "coyotes' domain". my memory often fails me, actually I may imagine the whole thing... however, this is how(&why?) i feel in general about coyotes and e.g. squirrels in movies :)

  • @SPIKES69696969 I instantly remembered when he talked about his dad beating him up, and that he killed him. Even though he laughed, it was one of those things you laugh about to make more obvious that it actually happened

  • agreed REDMAN 85.....

  • I think there is somthing correct about both you descriptions. That's what makes this scene so powerful..it is open to several interpretations depending on how you approach it. Cruise is one of the most under rated actors in the business

  • @mexicanroadsweeper lol under rated my as$

  • I didn't understand this scene at first but i was struck by how beautiful it was =)

  • karolw91, your translation of the scene is not accurate. Its when vincent and max have a surreal interconnecting relationship when somehow the audience realises that they are both alike. Both trying to adapt to a world in which they feel they don't belong just like the Cayotes. Both slaves of the system with no path and destination. Blending in and adapting. As wild as they Cayotes themselves. Poetry

  • Basically, the coyote represents the loneliness and, at the same time, commanding presence that is Vincient. It is a break from the nihilistic attitude that Vincient has held throughout the whole movie, where he stops to actually reflect upon what he is doing. If you read his face during the scene, you can see this whole, "What the hell has my life amounted to?" thought going through his head.

  • this scene makes you feel for vincent. tom cruises best and last great performance.

  • Makes me wanna fly

  • VINCENT IS MAN

    HE IS THINK ABOUT LIFE

  • I love this movie!

  • perfect

  • hey could someone explain to me the meaning of this scene because im just mezmorized by it. I was thinking it might have something to do with like "lone wolf" which is sort of the story of Mr.cruise that or like how he slowed down before he saw the wolf as if to show that life is precious. Im not sure but i love it absoloute genius directing and acting. But yeah if you know what it means please reply i would love to know the true meaning of such a masterpeice.

  • @XGSRemix like all things in films that are a bit abstract, it's what you make of it. Personally my thoughts are _and a lot of people think the same - that the coyotes roam around the city as if they own it - it's theirs to do as they please, which mirrors Vincent's very being perfectly. They do what they do, and he does what he does, regardless of anything or anyone.

  • @lathesius +1

  • Beautiful! Perfect!

  • I Can't understand why do i love this scene so much seriously !

  • @max124891 Because it's fucking incredible!

  • Audioslave + Mann = GREAT!!!

  • This movie felt more like a documentary than just a film.

  • i love the premise of this movie because it's like tom cruise and jamie foxx start to form some sort of a relationship but nevertheless tom cruise plans to kill him just like he did everyone else after his job is done... stone cold killer lol.

  • Does this scene not blow your mind?

  • michael mann strikes again. incredible scene

  • Aoudioslave is ever

  • Wow. This scene just snap you out of reality. It's like magic. Song, camera angle, timing. Perfect.

  • Could some one explain me what the wolves are symbolising ?

  • @CDCPlox

one is taking the lead, the other one is following.

They stand for Max and Vincent

  • mi scena favotia ever

  • Two fucking fags don't like it

  • @Sejanus they probably thought the "dislike" button said "dis i like"

  • @calfan3 xD

  • @Sejanus lol :)

  • this movie should of gotten 5 starts. 2 people must be retarded

  • This movie is just amazing I have literally watched it over 50 times and everytime is just as good as the last.

  • great scene wish i could see it...why is the video so messed up???

  • This puts it all in perspective.

  • Absolutley incredible. You can interpret this scene a million ways and every one would probably still be right. Gives me chills every time. Definitley an under-rated movie.

  • Is it just me, or does this sound sped up?

  • @danzax1 Yes, the song is sped up.

  • The two fuckers who didn't like it have died instantly

  • it's different from the original......

  • this is the best part of the movie, the song is just for the scene, incredible!!

  • one of the most memorable scenes in cinema. To anyone that watches this film, it sticks in their mind for a long time

  • there is no symbolism.....the coyotes were unscripted and wandered into the scene and they just happened to catch them on film

  • @emotive07 Funny that you say that cuz the video I saw before this had the director and Tom Cruise talking about how the scene was in the script.

  • @emotive07 That doesn't mean there's no symbolism. They wouldn't have included them and put such emphasis on the coyotes if they had no purpose. You can see from the camera work that they were pretty desperate to get them in the scene.

  • @emotive07 thats wrong, because Cruise said he was excited to see what Mann was going to do with this particular scene after he'd read about the coyotes in the script....says so in one of the dvd extras

  • Probably my favourite scene from any film. Mann is a genius.

  • Cette chanson... waaaw...et ce film... Un pur bonheur. Ma scène préféré

  • German xD

  • the music , the actors , the city . fuck europe , USA the best.

  • THIS PART IS THE BEST

  • awesome movie

  • Michale Mann is great at this. Incorporates best Music so you feel characters... Vincent just thinks the entire universe is randomness. How he justifies killing. No meaning to anything. Best line in the movie is when Cruise says to him " Later on in life when you're sitting in a rocking chair, realizing that all it took, was a down payment on a lincoln Town Car". Great stuff...

  • Vincent is such a cool and likable character and probably the greatest antagonist of all time. As a Christian, I believe every moment you live has a meaning. That is pretty much what Collateral is all about. I know there are people that don't believe like I do but I remember the night I got saved, my life was change all in one night. Collateral makes me think about that.

  • this song means everything too me. everything,

  • Best scene in the best movie. This has been my fav film since i first watched it 5 years ago. Audioslave was the perfect choice.

  • yo homie is that my briefcase?

  • 47-54

look at tom cruises face, can you see the sadness in his eyes, you can see how truly unhappy and lonely he is, like the fox, and also, when he says he couldn't bare it, and talks about the city in other scenes, it makes us think whether the assassin belongs there, becasue he doesnt, like the coyote.

  • nicely said

  • you know, in my opinion, the hollywod cinematography needs to produce more films such this one in order to gain back its reputation.

it's a bummer that they actually don't produce more such films and thus they are still behind the european cinema.

btw, i get all hypnotized when the first notes of this song starts :-)

  • for me, when this song came on in this movie, it was the best movie bit i saw in a movie ever.

  • i totally agree!:)

  • I just don't get the symbolism in this scene

  • Comment removed

  • @Luckool

Yea I can kind of see that. At 00:41, Vincent does have this look on his face like he's thinking, "Why the hell am I doing this?"

  • This sounds like a remake of the song..

  • yh watched it yesterday..awesome!

seen it like 4-5 times now..its ridiculous how you cant get bored of this movie

  • great movie, great song. thanks for the upload. just what i was looking for

  • My favorite movie of all time, I just loved how it was well-acted and had a good storyline that was believable and you could feel the tension and fear that Max (Jamie Foxx) felt. Amazing movie. I don't even like Tom Cruise!

    God bless Michael Mann!

  • it was a very good scene

  • I love the symbolism of the wolf at the beginning.....

  • Perfect.

  • the music fits the scene so well...just beautifull

  • One of the most beautiful scenes in cinema history. The meaning, the music, all is perfect.

  • shut up about the 'wolves' it is a metaphor about life.

  • you better shut tf up...

The coyote/wolf symbolizes Vincient, the assassin. In the making-of documentary found in the movie DVD special features, the director's only remark about the scene goes something like, "I was in LA once when some coyotes crossed an intersection, stopping all the traffic. And there's just something commanding about their presence. They don't even seem to stop to notice you, it is as if they own the scene."

  • I don't understand what's so significant about the wolf though?

  • Maybe it was becuase earlier in the movie, Jamie Foxx told the cop that his dmagaed cab was hit by a 'Los Angeles Deer', lol.

  • @CplStreicher70 there is no meaning behind the coyote. Michael Mann was driving through downtown L.A. one night and saw two coyotes running through the city. He thought it was impressive and said it should be in a film

  • Two lone wolves signifies two souls searching for themselves in LA. Both of them arent that different....

  • My favourite scene, awesome video!!!

  • Some Audioslave songs off "Revelations", appear on "Miami Vice".

I love Michael Mann, and Audioslave, couldn't ask for more.

  • awesome scene.. really made the movie..!!

  • Awesome movie

  • Such a great fucking movie.

  • awesome scene

  • this is a really good scene

  • Michael Mann did INSIDER, HEAT and COLLATERAL...but WHY he did MIAMI VICE??? THE MOVIE MIAMI VICE WAS CRAP!!! JUST BULLSHIT!!!!

  • Cuz he helped create the show

  • I think he was a bit nostalgic (Mann produced Miame Vice serial).

  • Don't even forget "Alì" and recent "Public Enemies"! :)

  • I love this scene so much and i cant explain why

  • Let me tell you why:MICHAEL MANN

  • putin de scène de ouf elle déchire tout j'adore !! j'aime !!

  • A plain act with a lot of meanings

  • Comment removed

  • i bought the movie solely for this scene; unbelievable timing - foxx, cruise, the pace...it is perfection.

  • fucking love it :)))))

  • Actually it's Shadow ON The Sun

  • Mann is genius,what a scene

  • awesome.... only awesome....
