  • The Olmecs must have been damn smart.

History is always so fascinating. :P

  • IT'S FUNNY TO ME THOSE HEADS DON'T REALLY RESEMBLE ANY OF THE INHABITANTS OF THIS LAND AT THE PRESENT TIME THE OLMECS DEF WERE ANOTHER BREED .........

  • they should of given all the workers leather working gloves for pulling the ropes. Also the problem with resurrecting ancient technics is that the brits working here dont know almost anything of the way life goes (and went) around there. Olmecs lived there hundreds of years and had many skills, tricks, knowledge and shortcuts to do things, which are mostly all unknown even to present day inhabitants. Anyway remarkable praiseworthy intent on trying to unravel old mysteries. Keep it on folks!!!

  • Bob doesn't really like to get his hands dirty. But he sure likes to wear his shorts and shirts tight, crikey!

  • "the Olmec had no writing system". Not true, BBC - they did have writing called 'isthmian script' , but the only traces of it left are short pithy writings carved on stone, so no one can decipher it.

  • i think they used more people to move the rock and more then 1 person carving the face

  • Why does these OLMEC heads look like there are carved in the image of BLACK people. I see black people everyday and they look just like this, 8 out of every 10 black men look just like this. To see is to believe.

  • @arkemein24 there are also some mexican that look like that

  • @arkemein24

There are ameriandians that also have wide noses and big lips (who aren't black). Those features are not uniquely "black". Also, the carvings are NOT to actual human proportions, so you can't truly compare them to any real human face. There are some videos on youtube that discuss the proportions issue.

I'm not sure if the Olmecs were black or not. I'm still researching the issue myself. But you can't go on "features" that could just be an "artistic interpretation"

  • @luigee78 Yeah I Agree while there could Have been west African travel (basic sea faring) The facial features have similarities but not exactly the same. Whats more interesting is the smaller artifacts that have "African" similarities. As for skin color They were right above the equator so who knows. There have been several Natives Americans to right about this subject not just Ivan van Sertima.

  • @blueiguy1 I'm still researching this issue further, but from what I can tell there are no DNA markers that link black africans in that region in pre-columbian times. Also, there are pure natives in that region and they are not black, so just being at the equator doesn't necessarily mean you will be black. I'm still not fully convinced on the black theory. Maybe a small number of blacks made it across, but never mixed with the natives and died out since DNA evidence isn't there.

  • Bob is an idiot. Even the ancient people could move the stones.

  • THE WHITEMAN FOOLED THE WORLD INTO THINK THAT HE IS A MASTER OF WORLD WHEN HE REAL IS A CHILD......

  • stop" Cum on, Cum On" help those men ass hole!

  • wow, i didn't know olmecs didnt have a writing system, i thought they did becouse on many sites it says they were the first to develop that, maybe they just didnt find the scripts

  • Who's the hot guy in the shorts?

  • "I think we regressed more then progressed."

in complete agreement too. lost the art and valuable skill of hacking with sharp stones and shells living babys from mothers wombs, for the purpose of dismemberment and sacrifice.

maybe they would get the rock moved faster with some human sacrifices...?

  • NO SENSE

  • bob is a faggot for real HAHAHAHA

  • murk me

  • I also agree toward another comment made. Europeans being very young spiritually can't consume the idea ancient people were very powerful mentally 'intelligent' and I feel ancients manipulated energy in ways moderns have no idea and choose to believe the possibility. Technology causes far more laziness then motivated cultural movement.

  • if these aincent spics were alive, they would tell this bitch about the heads `bitch, we brought them on ebay`.

  • This really puts into perspective the fact that there is definately some lost technology. Only thing I can think of between the Olmecs and ancient Pyramid builders it must have been the giants (Nephelim) who did all of this. Or there was some sort of sound technology that could manipulate frequencies. Its sad because it makes one feel as if we have regressed instead of progressed. Imagine what we could have truly accomplished. Its pretty sad we are not as great as we think. They were greater.

  • @caddy1010 And to anyone who doubts the above ... this documentary and others similar to it are proof of the technologies we may have been loaned but have lost today. Shame we do not learn these things at school.

  • @caddy1010 @caddy1010 And to anyone who doubts the above ... this documentary and others similar to it are proof of the technologies we may have been loaned but have lost today. Shame we do not learn these things at school.

  • The problem with this era is that we assume that we have better technology. I think we regressed more then progressed. And I hope he is paying those guys handsomely

  • @inferno6y I agree. We've forgotten so much.

  • @inferno6y couldn't agree more.

  • exactly what @inferno6y said, werent the ancient civilizations highly advanced?? these people are just assuming that the olmecs moved giant stones in a simple, difficult fashion when they probably had some super advanced and easy way of doing it.

  • They wouldn't have cut grooves into the poles. Just let the poles role over the runners.

  • There should be a documentary showing all of the mysteries made using what we have today. Then at least we could compare if we can at least make any of that stuff. Instead of assume they had no technology and try to adapt.

  • bob is an idiot...........

  • LOL These guys are trying to move the rocks by using ropes...but what if the Olmecs were using the same technique as the guy from the Coral Castle!!

  • @julegon2 -> Thats what i think too.

  • didn"t have a writing system what a ridiculous statement

  • Échale wero!!

  • I approve of this video

  • These guys are idiot. They keep saying stone age ppl like the olmec's were idiots. They were into spritual & sophisticated knowledge. Westerners think medal is everything. Dumb asses will never understand. Ancient civilizations were as smart if not smarter then us.

  • @TrueGreatness73

    0/5 for that one

  • the producer are ignorant.. the background music is from jalisco mariachi and tequila nothing to do with this region of mexico......I hate such lack of knowledge....

  • @locoyogi

    stop whining

maybe they just liked these songs

  • Bob quitate los shorts para pensar mejor.

  • the probleme is that modern scientist think that people at this era were dumb so they say they cant make it...but the fact is they made it so they were not so dumb.

they knew all the technics they need..and they used the tools they needed

plus they had time and people worked in slavery so it could be done.

people didnt think about what time they will have a pause.

they just worked hard till they die.

in these condition everything is possible

  • I agree with most of what you say, but one thing slavery is not a very effective system.

In ancient egypt the pyramids was build by generations of craftsmen.

They did not have to be slaves, more likely is that they were payed for their troubles by somebody with to much money or that it was a religios endevor. People will do just about anything if they believe in it..

And your right many scientist cannot imagine that people back then was just as bright as themself..

  • that fat guy would never even sculpture a rock of the size of a tennis ball. he should have pay some of those mexican guys just to do it for him, olmecs were more smarter than this fat guy and way more hard workers.

  • Maybe if "Bob" helped rather than just watching then it would get done a bit quicker!

  • at DropZoneRecords Thank you exactly

my point...and telling them andale is an insult too ...

  • ridiculous, people, I admire your confusion. what is the simplest way to move ball shaped round stone without lifting it up, or pulling it? is it really so difficult to figure it out? have you seen scarabeus bug how he deals with the same problem?

  • If the Olmec leaders were as powerful as we're assuming, it seems like they would have had much more than a few dozen workers.

I'm also wondering how strong hand woven Olmec rope would have had to be using this method.

Maybe they carved them round before moving them and rolled them to where the faces would be carved.

  • I don't understand why these people still keep trying the way that common sense can tell it is not gonna work.

  • u people are very funny
