  • jahshaka is a worst piece of crap videoediting software that i ever see in my entire life! Crash/segfault every 2 minutes Congrats!

  • @talligalli thats because of your computer no jashaka

  • @talligalli Did you donwload the 15.7mb file - cos the others dont seem to work well for people, also your right it does tend to crash if its presented with something its not used to (it is 4-5 years old after all!) avi and mov files are the ones it seems to be most stable with (unless they were converted into that format :p).

  • @talligalli

Just get after effects, arg me matey.

  • sorry im rubbish with stuff like this but can you slow the video down like slow motion or can you add plug ins like twixtor?

  • @TomMcCormick20 Sorry for the late reply! No you can't (or at least there isnt a way that I know of) Sorry!

  • can i get this on a mac?

  • NOOOOO THE LINK IS DOWN DUE TO SOPA!!!!!

  • Any word on 3.0?

  • @tsm767 I'm not actually part of the Jahshaka development team - so unfortunately I'm just as confused as everyone else :(

  • All it will let me open are .jsf files how do i fix this?

  • @BR4NDONcec You need to import your footage via the desktop. Go to the desktop module, click load, navigate to your footage and select it, click the load button in the dialog. Select module of your choice (in this video it is the animation module), drag across from sidebar on left that contains your footage.

  • @FreeWareFrolics Thanks.

  • I have a question, but not related to this tutorial. Every time I try to upload any video, it says this "jahshaka quit unexpectedly while using the libmltavformat.dylib plug-in." This just happened recently and before it, I was able to upload and edit videos fine. What do I do?!

  • @TheZtprez In all honesty I'm not sure, sorry! My two assumptions are: 1) You are using an new camera which has a different video codec to before? 2) You have uninstalled a different program which contained something Jahshaka used.

Your best bet, is to try a re-install of Jahshaka, sorry I can't be any more help!

  • how did u get only the muzzle flash image with out a background?

  • @icebreakersix1nine I used a png image with transparency. I have a tutorial on my channel on how to make one in GIMP. Also a download link to the file I used is in the description to the video.

  • @FreeWareFrolics is there anyother way besides using gimp? maybe using like paint?

  • @icebreakersix1nine Not as far as I know, but if you have a black background on your image, then you can:

click media tab, click check key box.

It should remove black leaving you with just the flash (just not as versatile, and sometimes can be a bit see through)

  • @FreeWareFrolics oh ok ty it worked

  • Hello Frolics, is it able to do a typography??

  • @Milenium412 I'm assuming you mean like when you see adverts/music videos with the lyrics popping up on the screen to emphasize the effect: if so, you can, its just quite hard!

  • Thanks......

  • is jahshaka free

  • @FreeWareFrolics oh is it good

  • @icebreakersix1nine In all honesty probably not the best - although you can do a lot with it, it is missing some major features (but hey you save a lot of money)

  • @FreeWareFrolics What if you're using it in combination with Wax 2.o and after effects?

  • @thecomputerman12121 Well if your using after effects theres no need for Jahshaka at all. If your looking for freeware, then yeah in combination with wax is definitely the way to go for people with windows.

  • if ur smart enough u can get after effects free i did :)

  • @DeapFriedGirls you obviously don't live in new zealand =P

  • @SoWastedMusic whats the diffrence

  • @DeapFriedGirls theres a law against downlaoding here in new zealand

  • @SoWastedMusic i live in New Zealand and if you're smart u can go and download from unmonitored websites but most torrent sites are monitored.

  • @bradp1922 well then there you go buddy, but yea dw about the copyright law i've heard they could never convict anyone in a court of law haha

  • like if u want him to put the muzzel flash as a download

  • @TheDrivenNoise Or you could just ask me? :p - link is in description.

  • @FreeWareFrolics THANKS SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!

  • @killerkevin666 I used a png image with a transparency channel created in gimp, (see my video on making a muzzle flare in gimp - you can use it to add transparency to any muzzle flare image).

The other way, if background is black; flash layer selected -> go to media tab, click the key check box, black should be removed NOTE: you can't adjust transparency with this method.

  • How did you make the flash only last one frame

  • @adamsky78 in the animation module: go to frame of flash, set key frame (on the right, key button with plus), then go back one frame set transparency to 0 add key frame, go forward 2 key frames, and set trans to 0 and set to 0.

  • What video format works in Jahskaka???

  • @adamsky78 The two main one's are avi and mov files for importing, I have tried hd mpeg-4 (h.264) files and they worked. A few others do work, but I found it hit and miss, for example videos from my digital stills in mpg format, seem to only work in the editing module! Random!

  • @FreeWareFrolics Ok, thanks for helping me now I understand better, this program is awesome!

  • Como guardo el video para subirlo a youtube??

  • @janniiselenamania If google translate is correct, you said: how do I save the video to upload it to youtube?: Right hand side of screen, click camcorder button, this will render it out if your in editing module, and if your in animation module it will put it in the desktop, from there you can click export clip, or put through editing module.

If you have any queries let me know....

  • @janniiselenamania Google translate of my answer, sorry if its off a bit:

Si traductor Google es correcta, dijo: ¿Cómo puedo guardar el video para subirlo a youtube: Lado derecho de la pantalla, haga clic en el botón cámara de video, esto lo hacen si su módulo de edición, y si en la animación que el módulo se lo puso en el escritorio, desde donde se puede hacer clic en clip de exportación, o poner a través de la edición del módulo.

Si usted tiene alguna pregunta, hágamelo saber ....

  • @mowiesny1 Sorry, I don't understand...

  • thanks

  • get a new mic dude ;)

  • @eniothesexmachine Indeed I was being cheap, but I have now got a new one and thus my newer videos have better sound and surprisingly it wasn't that expensive (about £5 (150 Uruguayan pesos/$8 usd)), which was nice! Thanks for watching.

  • thumbed up 4 sure

  • this editor is great. I even created a fake realistic rogue wave

  • @4243remy1 Oh wow, cool! Any chance of an upload/tutorial?

  • Jashaka kicks ass

  • I am SSOOOO downloading this editor!!

  • Thank you!

  • Thanks. Also... I can't find a save or a render button or option anywhere. I'm assuming you know where it is?

  • @poojoobie to the right of the preview screen, there is a set of buttons and zoom slider.

The bottom button looks like a video camera. Clicking that will render your clip from animation, back to your desktop.

In desktop you can then export your clip straight out(Export clip button), but I found it to be easier, and less buggy, to put the clip into the editing module, and then click the video camera button again, which renders out a final video.

  • I think that the sound on this video is a little bad, but that's ok. I didn't quite get how to just put the flare on only one frame though, it stayed throughout the entire video in the spot I put it, so could you explain it somehow? Thank you.

  • @poojoobie Yes, the sound isn't the best (sorry). Basically in the animation module, add your flash layer,

then go to point you want it to show, _->click controls in the tabs under the preview screen

orientate, and at the bottom under, 'Z Translation', theres a transparency slider,

set it to 100, and click on the key with a plus sign just under the right of the preview screen.

  • @poojoobie then go back one frame and change transparency down to 0, click on the keyframe add button again,

then go to key frame just after the one where you want the flash to appear, and again, decrease the transparency of the clip, and save key frame

If you have any problems -> let me know, I can try making another video, or sending you annotated screen shots

    Regards

  • @poojoobie p.s. make sure your are using a png file, I've not had much luck with alpha files to get realistic renders personally - but more importantly if the alpha is checked (under media tab -> key), then transparency doesn't work!
