What sucks the most about the beach boys is how messed up Brian got andthe guy that controled him for years. Also the fact that 2/3 of the wilson brothers are gone. Lets enjoy there music and honor the memories of those not wiht us any longer.
I first heard the Beach Boys when I was in the army in Spring 1962 on the radio. They really made me feel good with their light-hearted full of fun music. Thanks for posting!
before you judge what a redneck is, hang out with one for a while. you just may be changing your own tune. but i am a redneck and i don't like this one either, :)
This song reminds me of the one and only deep sea fishing trip I ever went on. "This is the worst trip I've ever been on" Great tune...thanks for posting.
im 45 (come April) and this is amazing music! I was raised in California and saw them a few time's one time for free in long beach, but had to pay for the helicopter ride! GREAT MUSIC!!!!
You can't just mess with songs like this one... it is a real story. It is about a friend of mines Grandpa. The stripped out the part about him! Whats up with that? Don't mess with history!
Rock is happy--too bad Brian can't be - or is he? To see the same face on Brian in all the photos in the last few minutes is hard to watch. He seems so removed. I hope the world looks better coming out of his eyes than looking into them. I feel so broke up, Brian. Peace
When I was in the hospital, the most humilating part; no one would wash my hair. I got so desperate one night, I tried to shave my head with an electric razor. Well, do to two broken shoulders I couldn't reach up farther than my forhead, so I had a bald spot there. One night in tears, I talked a young tech into washing my har at 3am. She sant this to me.
I love this song!! I have heard a little bit different version of it quite some time ago...between '88-'91. It was the same song, except it was more upbeat, or faster tempo. If anyone knows what I mean, please let me know!!! Have been looking for it for over 2 years now.
Say this for Mike Love: he helped keep the show on the road for many lean years, keeping the audience alive for the classic Beach Boys hits and sound. If it weren't for Mike, there is a very good chance NO touring Beach Boys after Brian jumped ship.

The Beach BOYS were good singers, and excellent at harmony! But most of all they were young men like all other young men who now and then run into some problems in life. And sometimes a problem gets the best of you! As in the case of Brian Wilson!(R.I.P.)

Mike Love gets no respect. He should in any dialogue that consists of the Beach Boys. Brian Wilson is a cry baby little bitch that is more known for his fat daughter than his music. That is a G.D. shame considering the body of music that he helped to create. I don't think very highly of him because of his personal life. He can pound it sideways on Mainstreet and have a nice day.
ha. mike love is an egotistical clown that continues to run the beach boys name into a novelty act. everybody knows if you wanna see the beach boys, you go watch brian.
Mike Love is a known by most people that work (and that have worked) with him and the music industry as a first class asswipe and gold digger. His contributions to the Beach Boys were hokey lyrics and embarrassing the band onstage with stupid antics. He has tried his hardest to denounce Brian and at the same time ride the cash cow of his genius. His only redeeming quality is that he convinced Brian to keep writing and singing at a very early age. For that I am thankful.
that's simply a perspective of "having the world in your hand" being some sort of "finish line" of existance.
there is a big fight of "the self" versus "the they". what you must understand is that existance is everflowing & now is forever constant in the mind. yesterday is a memory & tomorrow an expectation.
we're not a result of the past; simply an extension or continuation. bang on a cymbal/gong; the tapering of the sound is every bit as much of the sound as the initial strike. peace
Well this ain't nothing rare. It's the Pet Sounds box set, vocal and backing sync'd, and the end was looped off with the beginning of the backing track. Nice try
