Has anybody tried this at night, you dont need lights, the snow creates enough to see, best done on your own late at night. All you can hear is nature and of course the bike going thru the snow. Surrrrrreal..!!!
@emericstonedangelz That's such good news. I have maxxis swampthings, which are quite similar. I used to be dreaded the winter as the end of mtb season, but now it seems like a new beginning. Have you ever tried doing anything more technical? Like narrow trails with rock gardens? That's more of what I have here.
@drbroccoli well i rode my rmx down a mountain slope at night without lights and knowing the slope down to the valley, i was still faster than my friends on snowboards. the bike had good grip, except icy parts, i just crashed 3 times. the wetscreams did a got job in corners, fast straight line, even bumpy sections with soft snow.
Let's try rock and roots this winter and chat about this, ok? ;) i want to try how the Intense intruder tires does with its "cold" sticky rubber.
@emericstonedangelz Would you say that a long travel bike is necessary? I'll be riding a 120mm hardtail. I'm normally good a working the bike on sketchy terrain, but I'm concerned that something concealed by snow will catch me off guard, not that falling will be a big deal. I talked to some guys at the bike shop and they say my tires are amazing in snow.
Well i love biking! snowboard is cool too! But biking on snow is different, accept what people enjoy.
I remember some videos of peoples "snowboarding" on sand, on dunes... and i find this really cool, i don't say they are stupid at all ! Try to understand the research of new experiences, sensations...
@burtonmozart maybe he dosent like snowbaording? cos i certainly dont! i would much rather ride in the snow on a mountain bike than a shitty piece of wood.
@burtonmozart Even if this were entirely true, it doens't matter. Some people find the idea of biking in snow to be fun. Others would prefer to ski. Or snowboard. Or simply walk.
Im looking for snow spiked tyres as I have two wheels where as my friends are looking for either winter tyres or snow chains here in the UK Enjoy the snow!
I've tryed before with Nokian Gazza 3" and it's not so bad but when the snow is deep like in the beguinning of the video, the result is the same. Finally, the Maxxis Wetscream with low pressure (1,2 bar) got much better grip on compact and hard snow due to their agressiv deep profil, they just dig in the snow. Great grip and breaking power on the last turns. Thanks. :)
Great page!

If you go fast enough do you glide over powder?
Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

for snow chains on bike tires, just use thin yellow nylon rope, and wrap it in and out of each spoke all aorund the tire, it works wonders
