All beefed up to support probably 1000hp (ie if it has 600hp, everything is overengineered). Plus the fact it is likely MUCH safer than a civic or miata in an accident at 100mph+ .. Your argurment is flawed... The 1000kg range is quite good for this category of car.

I don't see why everyone is complaining about the idea that it doesn't have a V12. The whole point of this car was to push modern technologies to maximize the integration of carbon fiber in the car. 300hp is far above average for american cars. (excluding trucks n suv's)
just a few muscle cars and fully loaded models in the US will have over 300hp. and even those will probably be optional engines.

I don't see why everyone is complaining about the idea that it doesn't have a V12. The whole point of this car was to push modern technologies to maximize the integration of carbon fiber in the car. I can safely assume that the people behind this car knew what they were doing and I think everyone else should as well. Sometimes change is good people :)

Like the car. Don't like the idea of Lamborghini without V12s.
Common Audi. Lambroghini should be making V12s as long as legislation somehow allows it. But I don't think any of the bean counters at Audi understand that.
The Aston Martin CEO said they would be making V12s for a long time. Why can't Lamborghini do the same?

@Molo9000 maybe they didnt have a v12 engine that was light enough, this car weighs under a ton so they focussed on weight saving the most. also i dont think they wanted to put to much money developing a new engine because it would increase the cost of this car too and i can imagine it will be incredibly expensive due to all that carbon fibre

lightweight is the way to go. next gen ferrari supercar is also under 1 ton. in the next few years supercars will become lighter and more agile. the veyron was the pinnacle of the top speed race.

When are we going to stop talking about 0-60? 0-60 is meaningless past a certain level of power / weight ratio. What is much more meaningful is 100-160, because at that speed traction is no longer an issue - and massive power becomes most efficiently used.
