Hello,

My wife is running Cyanogenmod 3.0 on her TP and experiencing two problems: First, when I attempt to install certain apps (e.g. Scrabble), I get the error mesage, "Can't install on USB storage or SD card." However, on my TP, running 3.5, I can download and install that app with no problem. Also, my wife's TP is not accepting the 3.5 update. Install keeps aborting.

@reverendkjr : Hey, thnx for such wonderful uploads. I have alpha 2 on my touchpad (wifi is problematic). I want to upgrade it to the latest alpha release. I was wondering if the apps and the settings i have will be lost ? Do i need to reinstall them after the upgrade ?

@Biddison100 Sounds like you didn't install the Clockwork Recovery file correctly. Use ACMEInstaller to install the cwm file again and then it should show up in your moboot menu.

Any suggestions for getting the tablet apps of CNN, NY Times, and other market apps made for tablets to not say "your device is isn't compatible with this item"? I tried changing to Samsung Galaxy Tab in the build.prop under the fields you described and also the display id field, still no dice. Thank you.

@jjimmyp If they are Honeycomb apps, the will NOT work on our device no matter what you change.

@13Keepers Just follow the steps in reverendkjr's video for Alpha 2 (fHoQM3KW1sU). Just substitute in the desired Alpha zip. I did it and it worked flawlessly.

@echo4dr OK - after posting a bunch of questions and searching for more files, I think I have what I need. I have the following zip files, Acmeistaller, gapps, moboboo 03.3, update 7.1.0 tenderloin a3, and update cwn tenderloin 1012. My only concern is that when I open my novacom file - I got three files in a folder called palm inc - but whereas Rev had novacom.exe, I just had novacom. Does this matter?

@13Keepers Yes, I was lost at first too. Here is what I recommend:

1) Go to reverendkjr's video called "Idiots Guide - How to Install Cyanogenmod 7 Android Alpha on HP Touchpad".

2) Watch it, don't download the files.

3) Now that you understand the process, come back to this video "How to Update to Cyanogenmod 7 Alpha 3..". Look at the description. Download the files as instructed form the location instructed (you will have to scroll down until you see the word "DOWNLOADS" in all caps).

4) Download the file "gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip"­. Find the proper download location by searching "gapps downloads" on Google.

5) Now go back to the "Idiots Guide - How to Install Cyanogenmod 7 Android Alpha on HP Touchpad" video. Follow the instructions precisely, only your "update-cm" zip file will be called "update-cm-7.1.0-tenderloin-a3­-fullofbugs-signed.zip"

6) Enjoy Android on your TouchPad.

Other than making sure that I had the correct files the only place I got stuck was after the cmd prompt - which always happens for me - but kept up with it - and it all ran rather smoothly! Put Alpha 3 on my touchpad and everything was going fine then all of a sudden i started having WiFi problems. I tried sum fixes but still not helping. It wont connect to wifi n if it works next time i restart it it doesnt work anymore.Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi and thank you for a great tutorial.

I have completed all the steps and I have updated to CM Alpha 3. However I am trying to synchronize my gmail to the tablet in order to download apps and it states that it can not connect to gmail server. Any suggestions!!

I have checked g mail settings and everything looks okay.

After updating I lost all apps, except few, and also the market app icon. Any suggestions anyone???

I really need your help I just got a touchpad I installed a frsh copy of alpha 1 all went well. I then upgraded to alpha 2 all went well again. I upgraded to alpha 3 and it said it installed I cleared both catches and then booted. It is stuck on the cyanogen loading screen android logo never comes up like the previous 2. please help!!!! what can I do alpha 1 and alpha 2 both booted all the way through

I bought a HP Touchpad and will be receiving it in a couple of days. I am planning on installing Andriod on my device. But I am curious to know if installing Andriod on the Touchpad impacts battery life? If yes, what's the difference between the battery life with Andriod installed vs running WebOS only?

@GarfieldDC Just like with every other Android device, the battery life is not great. I charge my Touchpad every night and that seems to be adequate. WebOS magically hold a charge for days on end.

please use caution when you do update. Although it fix a few things it broke a few such as YouTube java and flash sites doesn't work. Plus when It goes to sleep WiFi turns off even though I have it set to never. It now does not play videos plus the ear piece doesn't work

your videos are s easy to follow!!! but i ran into a little snag. i did a fresh install of Alpha 1 to Alpha 2 and then to Alpha 3 via your videos. everything went smoothly without a hitch, but the android market isn't in the list of apps. any ideas? perhaps i did something wrong?

@htmoc It appears that some people are struggling with battery charging. I always make sure that the screen is OFF when mine is charging. This usually gives me a full charge overnight.

@wyllera It fails because the app is looking for GPS signal and pukes when it doesn't find one. I am going to be doing a video over the weekend to demonstrate several ways around this.
