Yeah some state do not inspect exhaust systems on most cars/trucks. I have no idea if semi-trucks are the exception. But in Oklahoma I know we do not have any laws that pertain to catalytic converters etc. There may be but they aren't really enforced. Every truck I've every owned I've ripped the cats off and installed headers with a cat back system and never caught a ticket or even been asked what type of exhaust system I have installed.
