I'm sure that scenes of that are filmed with a stuffed cat and mouse. They do some close ups with live ones to make you doubt your own brain, but I'm sure of it. These are sooo creepy.
So this is Andy Devine, the voice behind Friar Tuck on Disney's ROBIN HOOD! And now I finally know what "Pluck that magic twanger, Froggie!" is all about...
So what's with that so-called audience? Did they actually attend any semblance of the show?,or were they from some entirely different venue? One thing for sure, they weren't sitting there laughing hysterically at overdubbed voices & taped special effects that couldn't possibly be part of a live stage show.
Plunk your magic twanger Froggy,Whenever my mates would make a move on a woman I'd mutter it under my breath. Classic Timeless the episode when Froggy taks the chef into dumping the spaget complete with sause on his head was something that I thought at the time was just the beat.
Just what "business" does Andy expect Squeaky to "tend to" ? Even though as good a flying ace as he is, I don't think these high-anxiety airplane antics would be tollerated in a post-9/11 world. Oh, and hats off to the Puss for playing violin throughout the segment.
I never thought I'd ever see this again. Very surreal and bizarre children's show - one of the first on television, wasn't it? A real trip into television's distant past.
I'll see if my kid can find and upload the horrid & riveting Andy's Gang "Lucia Sextet" with Chicken Little (no worse to me than Sutherland....) Andy's Gang can be found in 4-dvd sets - sometimes on Ebay
I'm sure you'll find it on SpaceGhetto -if you can get past all the gore (incl. dead babies and abortions, deformed and gaping female genitalia, feces, etc.). I just watched it and swear they were using live animals restrained somehow and being manipulated to look like a singer and musicians.
I actually remember seeing that particular show in the 1950s. Never thought I'd see it again. I still laughed out loud watching it again. It was such an innocent age of television back then.
Creepy indeed..BTW, it's Andy Devine, not Divine....

Wike says Voice of the cat is June Forey... who did voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel.
P.S. I bet they went through a lot of Squeakys.
this is one far-out show.
I watched it when I was a kid... and I know why we're all warped.
